He’s a STAR WARS fan and a history geek. He doesn’t believe in ghosts or the afterlife. He doesn’t believe in psychic powers or tarot cards. He doesn’t believe in the Headless Horseman.
But Sleepy Hollow will change all that. Because Jason Crane has a heritage to claim. Jason Crane has a Gift to discover. And Jason Crane has an old enemy who will … enemy who will RISE HEADLESS AND RIDE.

Wow what a great book. I am glad that I took a break from my New Year Resolution to read all those books that I got for less than $1 or free. Not to mention the timing. Hey its October, gotta’ read something spooky right? And this certainly fits with being spooky.
The characters are intense. Their depth is surprising at times as to how they …
You want a Halloween ambiance? You got it!
Reading this book is like…sitting by candlelight in the middle of a pumpkin patch by a cemetery, orange and red leaves scattered on the ground while a veiled full moon rises in the sky. (Bonus points for listening to the audiobook: the narrator is so good it’s beyond words!)
This a three book series and is sort of YA but not. It’s just scary enough and is brave in its inclusion of different sexual orientations . I wish the series would continue with Jason, Joey, Kate and Zac as grown-ups. Zac’s evil/pathetic dad,…. *Shudder*
Sleepy Hollow: Rise Headless and Ride by Richard Cleaved and narrated by Eric Michael Summerer is an great new tale on the old subject! It has a teen boy as the main subject who lives with his rich grandmother. There is a treasure hunt, evil possession, and other supernatural activity. It must be a series because it left some things still open to …
Loved it!
Interesting take on a classic Halloween tale. Characters were easy to relate to, funny and kept me reading. Haven’t read the next in the series, but would recommend to a YA.
Rise sleepless and read! I went in to reading this very skeptically (I grabbed it on my Kindle for free) as a Sleepy Hollow fan I wasn’t quite sure if this would besmirch Irving’s tale. I can happily say it doesn’t if anything I believe it will help bring the story back into the light and create new Hessian fans.
I had such a hard time putting it …
This was one of my more favorite books that I read in the past few years. Very original take on the classic Sleepy Hollow story. He brings in a whole new myth and creates a totally new story that’s based around the original Ichabod Crane story. This takes place in modern times, and Jason Crane is a high school kid and descendant of Ichabod, and …
Absolutely loved this book. If you read one book this is it. The series should be made into a movie.
Great Series! You will want them all. Like potato chips you can’t read just one.
Great read. First of three – get them all.
it just seemed to bore me
I have always had an interest in the legend of Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman and Richard Gleaves has reinforced this interest. Well written book that you will have a hard time putting down! I highly recommend this book!!
One of the few books I would recommend to anyone. Love the story line and the characters. Love the fact that sexuality doesn’t hold character development back.
Starts slow with too much backstory, but gets rolling in second half. YA, high school senior characters. Sympathetic gay characters. Disabled person is important, complex character. High editing and production values for this self published ebook. Unresolved at end. Part of series.
book should end, with conclusion, not leave reader hanging to increase sales
