Contradictions…Tall and short.Inked and unmarked.Golden and porcelain.Soft dreads and wild red.Dark and… darker.Keeping more secrets than a teenage girl’s diary, Harlow Cooper hides a lot behind her bubbly personality. College student and intern. Loyal friend and loving daughter. Fangirl and girly girl. Lover of strong coffee and even stronger margaritas. Former bartender and current… Well, … margaritas. Former bartender and current… Well, let’s just say she’s suddenly in need of pasties and an industrial sized drum of glitter.
Quick with a smile and joke, people assume Kase Teo is all ego with a slacker follow-through. But lurking behind his hauntingly beautiful blue eyes is an ocean. Knowledge, quick wit, experience, pain… There are depths to Kase that most don’t see. If there’s one thing he’s learned, it’s that life’s all about appreciating the beauty.
For Kase, that means going after the redhead that’s set up residence in his mind. And his fantasies.
Now he needs her to see life’s more than just a best case scenario.
***Warning: This book is intended for adults. It contains frequent adult language and situations.
Though it can be read as a standalone, it is STRONGLY recommended you read Hyde and Seek first.

Made is one of my favorite book boyfriends. Well actually, he’s book husband material.
After loving the first book in the Hyde series I thought the best case scenario would be that I would like this book, well Layla Frost blew like right out of the water with a well and truly loved this book. Kase is a character that is tough on the outside but this man has a heart the size of Texas and when he loves, he loves hard. Harlow is a woman that bottles everything up and places them in boxes, she wants to protect everyone and be prepared. Harlow loves to run and Kase loves to chase her, she may think she is getting away but this man is not letting his heaven go. Kase and Harlow will own you and there will be no going back. Their story is romantic, intriguing, heart wrenching and filled with so much passion and love it will have you swooning non-stop. Best Kase Scenario will at times have you feeling like you are standing on the edge of a cliff, your heart beating out of your chest and leaving you breathless. These two characters know how to bring the heat and the spice and they are certainly bringing sexy back. However this series isn’t just about the main characters, it is also about the side ones that intertwine and have you feeling like you are part of their journey. Get ready to pull up a stool at Rye and grab a beer and become part of the Hyde family.
Best Kase Scenario by Layla Frost is book Two in the Hyde Series along with being a part of the Happily Ever Alpha Series. This is the story of Harlow Cooper and Kase Teo. This can be a standalone book, but characters of past due enter into their story.
Harlow is trying to support her family and do so much on her own. Harlow meets Kase through friends and the attraction is instant. Kase doesn’t like how Harlow is having to earn money and it doesn’t take the brooding/ silent guy to voice his feelings.
Slow burn
I read this via my ku subscription and am leaving my review voluntarily. It is book 2 in a series. You do get the others from book 1 in this story.
**Triggers**
kidnapping, murder
**Spoilers**
Kase, ex con, talented painter works with Jake (b1) and has a crush on Harlow.
Harlow, overworked, over stressed, full of secrets. Attracted to Kase but because of her home life, doesn’t think she has time for a relationship.
Kase has got to be THE most patient person ever. He seems comfortable waiting for Harlow to get herself together and admit they can be good together. Long term, not just a hit and quit it thing.
Action, a bit of drama. Sexy time. HEA
Kase 4 Harlow 3 Story 3
I would like stories for Nox, Keys, Lars too.
Another hot, sexy, sweet story. Love these guys. They are so great. The chemistry is off the charts. Great story. Though I didn’t understand the epilogue. But still a great book.
Damn that was exactly what I needed and I have absolutely no idea why I waited so long to jump into this book. I loved the first one and it’s on KU so I really have no excuses. And honestly as much as I remember enjoying the first one there were a few little issues I had with it that niggled at me and made me love this one so much more.
First can I just say Kase was the shit. I can’t even express how awesome he was, words fail me. I loved absolutely everything about him. It was literally like the perfect man wrapped up in the perfect packaging. He could be so patient and caring and sensitive before going all full on alpha. And I loved that he was so focused on Harlow and could read her so well that he knew what she needed before she did.
Harlow had a few very real, normal, every day, people issues and I really liked her. I think she would be the perfect girl posse member. She kept all her worries and concerns to herself but she wasn’t secretive or uncaring she was just living her life as she felt she needed to live it to keep herself safe. And even when she didn’t really want to do certain things she wasn’t afraid to go outside her comfort zone to provide herself with the security she needed to keep her anxiety at bay.
Kase and Harlow together were hot. And they made the perfect couple. They complimented each other so perfectly I just wanted to keep reading about them forever. I can’t believe that there aren’t any more in this series because these would be the best Covid social distancing binge read ever if only I had nine or ten more. I am obsessed with Layla Frost’s writing. She literally feels like the love child of Kristen Ashley and Aurora Rose Reynolds and I need more.
I really liked Kase and Harlow’s story! I just love Layla’s quirky, witty writing that makes me laugh and feels so relatable. I’m not a dreds person, but apart from that Kase was hot and such a sweetie. I really liked Harlow as well, apart from just not really understanding why she was so worried about finances. I expected some really big thing to be going on that required her to be so anxious about money and that kind of fell flat for me. But apart from that, I loved her personality and her inner dialogue. Plus we got to see more from Piper and Jake from Hyde and Seek, which I was all about! Good suspense line towards the end as well.
That all said, I really need stories on Rhys and Lars. I love those guys!
I swear she had Jason Momoa in mind when she wrote Kase. A hot Hawaiian with tattoos who tried to wait for the woman he knew would be his and then pounces when he couldn’t wait any longer. The whole series is awesome but this one was my favorite.
4,5 stars
‘Best Kase scenario’ is the third book that I read from Layla Frost and again I really enjoyed the story. I’m so happy that I discovered this writer! I’m only sorry that there aren’t more books to read at the moment of her.
‘Best Kase scenario’ is the second book in the ‘Hyde’ series and we met both Kase and Piper in the first book. I was really curious about Kase story. In the first book I had the impression that he was a little bit of a playboy but I was totally wrong about that! It seems that he’s the ‘romantic’ one of the bunch of alpha men in the series. And then you have Piper, she has also more layers and secrets about her then I first suspected. Both characters AND the story were a really nice surprise to me.
It was also really great to see everyone again of the first book and we also were introduced to some new alpha men (which I hope will get their own story in the future!!!). Just like in the other books, Piper and Kase felt an immediately attraction to each other but again they didn’t act on it immediately. The writer again took the time to build the romance. Something that I really adore about her books. The man in her books really take his time to convince the woman to give him a chance (in their alpha way). The sex scenes were again hot! The story was told in both POV’s.
I enjoyed ‘Best kase scenario’ just as much as I did ‘Hyde and seek’. I would recommend that you start with the first book of the series. That will give you more insight of the private comments between the friends.
