Aaron MacManus, the new master vampire of the realm just wanted to go out and meet some of his subjects and to figure out what needed to be done to set things right.April and Demetrius Carlovetti own an air service and are the most trusted and well liked vampires in Aaron’s realm. What he didn’t expect when he visited them was betrayal. His own bodyguards try to murder him and blame it on the … on the Carlovetti’s.
Sara Temple was not a vampire. She pilots planes for the Carlovetti Airways. She had secretes of her own and working for this small air service is keeping her out of sight. The last thing she wanted to do was save a vampire, even an extremely good looking one.
Sara was only trying to survive but with Aaron she becomes embroiled in politics, the magic of several realms involving a queen in peril, magical beings, passion and love.

‘Blood, Body, and Mind is the first book in Kathi S. Barton’s “Aaron’s Kiss” series, and what a riveting story it is. Aaron was new in the area, having only been in the Kiss for a few weeks when he’d finally had his fill of the way the current Master Vampire was treating the Kiss family. That’s when he challenged him to the death for the rites. Needless to say, Aaron won the battle and is now the current Master Vampire. Unfortunately, that three-hour battle, along with the corruption and cruelty of the previous master, has presented an uphill battle where trust is concerned with the rest of the vampires. As members of the Kiss are coming to the castle to pledge their loyalty to the new Master, a plot to kill him comes to light, and it’s discovered by a human woman. Sara Temple had already saved the Carlovetti’s from being murdered when Aaron asks Sara to save him as well. She really had no intention of doing so but finally agreed once ascertaining a promise from Aaron that he would take her life once she saved his. Things didn’t go as planned and Sara lives. This storyline is so intense with twists and turns that chase a dark plot and a purely evil villain. But it’s not all dark and dangerous, there’s quite a bit of snark from Sara and just as much pompous egotism from Aaron that makes these confrontations comical to me. And then, what’s not to love about Duncan, Aaron’s daywalker? His personality is just over the top loveable. This is a must-read for anyone that enjoys vampires and I personally can’t wait to dive into ‘Divine Savior’.
Just reread the Bowen Boys so thought I would carry on tidying up this authors books.
Not quite how I remembered this book.
I read this series more years ago than I want to contemplate.
I remember it being better but maybe my tastes have changed.
This time around I found it amusingly juvenile and lacking in background information. It really needs rethinking and fleshing out better to make it a more solid read.
Aaron didn’t act like a 1400-year-old master vampire, more like a bull-headed bully.
How he behaved towards his mate Sara, was so rude and controlling.
Sara starts off getting my attention as a bad ass, then goes all myopically I don’t need any help from anyone and is as bull headed as Aaron.
There are bright bits throughout the story with actions and other characters which saved this from being a DNF but once Aaron and Sara both grow up and finally decide to be together, WAY too much sex happens. Chapters of sex.
Not sure how Melody is the Queen of Magic when it took her 3 years to get better. Really long time.
Proofreading needs redoing. I read this through my local library and apparently, this version is the third edition and still had too many proofreading errors.
E.G. Every light and candle in thn was the chair Aaron was sitting in.
I can’t even translate what this was meant to be.
Lots of silly other errors too.
This is a wonderful read and series. I have read three times so far and will read again.
Sara Temple is a warrior to the Queen of Magic, but she’s now she needs to lay low or be sentenced for the death of the Queen. She’s been working as a pilot for April and Demetrius Calovetti who believe she’s nothing but quite human who keeps to herself. Oh how wrong they are.
Aaron MacManus is the new Master of the realm. He has no time for a mate and hasn’t considered finding one after living thousands of years without finding one. But one visit to the Calovetti’s hangar results in a fight for his life against those who wish to kill him for the realm and a run-in to his mate!
One strong independent woman and one egotistical male, watch the fireworks explode!
