They hate me, but they don’t even know who I really am.They see the person I show to the world. They don’t know what I’ve lived through and they don’t know me.But they will. There’s a reason I’m called a bitch. This is my story. You better pay attention.Warning: this book will contain triggers and is intended for a mature audience 18+
Mrs. Brown I don’t know how you do it but this story was so beautiful even with all that twisted and dark parts it even had some parts that made me cry for what Amalia went through. Who would have thought that Amalia will be this heartbroken girl it never enter my mind when we met her in Rosalinda story. It was just perfection love every single word couldn’t put it down until the very end and it still left me wanted more.
With each book I have read of Michelle’s I can tell her storytelling has been better than the last and just keeps on getting better. When I started reading this book it pulled me in from start to finish it is definitely a page turner it’ll have you on the edge of your seat wondering what else was going to happen next. I can’t wait to read what she writes next. I’d definitely recommend getting this book.
This is my unbiased opinion and my review.
Oh Amalia, girl what are we going to do with you?! Never have I read a book where someone goes through so much and never wavers in strength, mentally if not physically. My only thing is I wish there was more Nico and Amalia moments.
Michelle’s storytelling gets better with each book and this is her best yet, I cannot wait for what comes next!
I had high expectations for this book yet it managed to exceed them. There were twists, darkness and most of all a highly emotional journey. Michelle Brown takes Amalia who is a character previously introduced in the La Asesina Bonita duet (this book is a standalone) and changes the preconceived notions about her, which is a sign of an extremely gifted author.
The character development in this book is astounding. One of my favorite aspects is the author creates a fierce female main character. I don’t see that as often as I would prefer in books but Michelle Brown nails it! Amalia goes through so much my heart just breaks but the author stays true to the character. Nico is beyond words. Michelle Brown delivers one alpha male that’s not only well-written, well-developed but presented in a unique manner unlike what I’ve seen before. The author also makes it a point to develop secondary characters as well, increasing the realism of the book. I really loved the world building, it was meticulous and I felt like I was there, even during the darkest moments.
The storyline itself flows incredibly well. The pacing is fantastic throughout; it is definitely a page-turner and completely engrossing. Most of all, the author appears to have poured her heart into this book because every line delivers an emotional punch. By the time I finished, I was emotionally drained with a definite book hangover. There are quotes that stand out to long after I finished because of how well the author did with this book.
5 stars for a twist of darkness, captivating, emotional journey! Highly recommend.
In the Pretty Killer duet, we first meet Amalia. In that book, I sincerely didn’t like her. She had zero redeeming qualities. However in this book, we see her from her perspective, and realize there’s more to her than meets the eye. This is her story, and it’s worth telling. I recommend this book to all dark romance lovers.
We have heard of Amalia’s escapades but nothing will prepare you for her story. This isn’t an easy story matter of fact through most of it I had a horrified look on my face I am sure. Prepare yourself for violent rape and physical abuse but also prepare yourself for her coming out on top. I didn’t agree with most of what she did but hell I probably would have done the same in her case.
This author is new on the scene and coming out like gang busters. This book is straight up and in your face and well written. It isn’t a pretty story but this author got it right and it is a darn good read.
Just when you think one of your favourite authors can’t get any better. She had to go and prove you dead wrong.
Diamond B!tch is a book that pulls you kicking and screaming into hell with the characters and spins your world on its axis. This story makes you FEEL every inch and every word on the page.
Amalia was a bit of a mystery in the La Asesina Bonita duet and you can’t help but dislike her. However, Michelle does something remarkable and makes the originally unlikable character your favourite character yet.
This story has a dark intensity that burrows straight into the depths of your soul. It was hard to see the light at first but I think the brutal journey and how she twisted and turned it round was excellently executed.
Amalia and Nico are two characters fighting against each other and the pull of fate and horror, but the chemistry and connection between them was off the charts.
Amalia is a wonderfully strong character even at her most broken Displaying bravery and sass that is almost unshakable even in the darkest moments. I absolutely admired her strength as a character.
Nico is the dark knight in bloodstained arnour but he is the best match to help pull Amalia from the flames and shadows. I couldnt think of a better man to do so. Mysterious and deeper than one would expect at a first glance, his dedication to protecting Amalia at all costs even in the face of hopelessness was awe-inspiring.
This story has everything I could want and more, deep and fully developed characters all round, a pace that keeps you on the edge of your seat and a story you can’t put down or let go of. Michelle has taken all my expectations, smashed them to pieces, and shown what she is truly capable of.
This is my first book by this author and I absolutely loved everything about it. It’s suspenseful, twisted, dark, gritty and yummy all rolled in one. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t stop reading until I was finished.
Amalia Valentine, Rosalina’s cousin from Pretty Killer, is doing whatever her father commands her to do.
With a cold hearted father, it’s no wonder she is a bit lost, but with Nico at her side, she can handle whatever it takes. But I loved that she could do whatever, even when she wasn’t sure if she had Nico at her side!
I liked the characters, especially Amalia. She is a very strong and resourceful woman! Just pretending to be a cold hearted b!***.
It’s a dark fast-paced story, therefore not so in-depth. I really like this author’s writing style, it’s simple yet articulated. But I wish for a bit more context in the story.
Warning!
Diamond B!t** isn’t intended on people with weak stomach and fragile hearts!
wow, we first met amalia in La Asesina Bonita duet, and i must say that i totally hated her!! but after meeting her in Diamond B!tch, man did my view on her turn 180 degrees! amalia and nico’s story was such a great read. michelle brown is amazing with weaving dark and gritty stories that kept you reading page after page until the end. another wonderful read that i highly recommend.
Wow, I thought Rosalina was an amazing female lead, I think I may have found my new favorite with Amalia. Her patience with everything that had happened/was happening to her could well become the stuff of legends. At least in this fictional world. Heck, in any world. Michelle Brown brings us another amazing tale of strong women and the men who will do “anything” for them. The pace is fast, the plot is tightly constructed, the characters were strong, and the romance was yummy.
Reading this book, I kind of had questions of my own regarding other characters, and it was more than halfway through the story that I was told that Rosalina’s Duet should—but not necessary—have been read first.
That being said, it didn’t bother me one bit, I’ve read books not in their order and never have minded spoilers. But, if you guys want, DEFINITELY read Michelle Brown’s Duet, starting with Pretty Killer.
Anyway, AHHH, Amalia! My heart kept continuously breaking for that woman. This book was NOT an easy read. It’s has certain subject matters that can be tough for certain readers, so definitely proceed with caution.
Me, I can pretty much read anything and everything, and although it hurts and makes me cry, I continue to torture myself. Emotional masochist with these damn books.
Well, Amalia has a pretty messed up family.
From a dad who really couldn’t give two shits about his daughter because she’s a woman, to a cousin that thinks the worst of her due to a misunderstanding, other family and Mafia members not respecting her because of what they believe, Amalia has always felt pretty alone.
But, don’t think because she feels alone, she’s a meek woman. NOPE! She has this “I don’t give a f*ck” personality which I absolutely LOVE!
There comes a point in the story where Amalia is taken due to a mix up, and the things she endured made me cringe.
But, after that happened, she deals with some issues regarding her father—who I’m wishing he were real just so I can give him my strongest kick in the nuts. Super vague, I know. NO SPOILERS.
Well, that’s where I got a little upset. I wanted Amalia’s love interest to fight more for her more. He taught her a few things in self defense, but when it came down to the wire, he plotted more than anything else.
This is why I loved Amalia so much more. This woman was determined to get herself out of whatever mess she was in, and I can get behind that.
I’m definitely going back to read Rosalina’s Duet. Her character intrigued me A LOT.
Michelle Brown once again hits is out of the park!!
Michelle Brown just gets better and better with every book she writes. And, Diamond B!tch is no exception to that. It is dark, raw, filled with turmoil and hate. So emotional!
I absolutely adore Amlia. She is such a strong and fierce woman. The atrocities that she endures makes her a warrior in her own right.
And Nico, I just love him. He is so strong and passionate and would do anything for his Princesa!
The fact that this is not a typical story makes it that much more alluring. I freaking love it!
Wow this book is fanflippintastic.
If you like your heroines a little bit crazy but strong you will love Amalia as much as I did. From the start I was invested in the story I wanted to find out what made her tick, why she did certain stuff why she just didn’t care .
It’s a story full of suspense it’s dark at times so be warned if that’s not your thing. Amalia goes through alot in her story but it’s how she deals with it that made me love her. To everyone who underestimated and tried to curb her spirit she sticks a finger up at them.
I read it in one sitting and really didn’t want it to end. Loved the writing and storytelling from start to finish.
Completely stunned by this story….I’m always amazed when I absolutely hate a character introduced in one book-only to LOVE them in “their” book! It takes MUCH talent to write in a way that despicable characters become relatable/loved/respected. Amalia was this & so much more! Introduced in the Pretty Killer duet, she was an aggressive- trouble making- snob….but not anymore. Loved enduring the journey of her crazy life with Amalia! To see what made her become the girl I hated & then transform into someone I loved and respected? THATS epic writing:) and the story, omg …so much action, twists, suspense…it sucked me in and never let me go…absolutely loved it and can not wait to see what’s next from this amazing writer!!!!
Emotional and totally inlove with Nico haha
I wasn’t sure what to except from amalia’s POV on things but I definitely got her personality wrong when reading about her from Rosalina’s story. Not being able to help but stir the pot, she is easily misunderstood yet at the same time, causing that onto herself. Her flaws makes me love her though and I definitely agree with the other reviewers that it would have been so much better if this story included Nico’s backstory. with this author’s unexpected twists and turns along with the love of dark romance, Ill continue keeping an eye out on her next story line.
A spin off to the Pretty Killer series; this time it’s Amalia’s story… I think Amalia has to be one of the most unfortunate characters in the history of books. She is constantly being taken against her will and mistreated badly!!
This book has dark themes and not for the faint hearted. It is s quick read and a fast paced book. A few parts didn’t quite work for me. Firstly the story was too ‘neat’… there was no build up or struggle for characters. Situations were resolved far too easily. Too convenient and too many coincidences. It was almost a case of being in the right place at the right time. I think this could’ve been improved if we had seen more of Nico’s POV… looking events that happen ‘inbetween’ . A few POVs we do get from Nico is Amalia’s scene seen from the other viewpoint rather than a different scene… this didn’t add anything to the story, nothing new was revealed.
All told, the story had potential and I did enjoy it, I just felt it was the bones of the story and needed meat adding to it, more development of events and better connection between events..
What a dark and twisted story but I loved every page. This book is definitely not for the squeamish or the faint of heart. The things that she has endured is utterly heartbreaking but it’s made her so unbelievably strong.
When Amalia was first introduced in the Pretty Killer duet I honestly couldn’t stand her character. Then Michelle shared her story and before I even realized it the bad girl I loved to hate had changed my mind and won me over. I found myself rooting for Amalia against all the things that would crush most people placed in similar situations. Her character was determined, strong and there is so much more to her than meets the eye. She is not someone to be underestimated. I loved Nico’s character from the beginning. He is a fierce, dark protector and the perfect match for Amalia. I would have liked a little bit more of his history but I’m a bit greedy like that and want more Nico. Diamond B!tch is a dark and gritty read that hooked me right from the beginning and kept me on the edge of my seat glued to my Kindle. I can’t wait to see what amazing new book Michelle comes up with next!
