From USA Today bestselling author, Leslie Langtry comes the next assassin-in-suburbia Merry Wrath Mystery… The Halloween Parade is coming up, and former CIA agent-turned-suburbanite Merry Wrath’s Girl Scout Troop hopes to repeat a 1st place trophy for the 3rd year in a row. But when they find a dead woman dressed as a witch, a mysterious treasure, and face a ruthless kidnapping, it looks like … looks like Merry’s in for a different kind of triple threat.
To add fuel to her bonfire, Mom’s in town—meaning Merry has to replace all that bullet-riddled furniture in the guest room—and with her wedding date approaching, her groom-to-be’s twin taxidermist sisters are insisting on doing the decorating.
Between her family fiascoes and a dead witch who was loathed by everyone in town, Merry’s head is spinning faster than an apple in a bobbing barrel. Who wanted this mean girl dead? Will this Halloween end with a treat? Or has Merry been tricked?

Merry is going to lose Rex. Plain, simple, to the point. She can’t be “normal” ex-spy and wife to Rex, Merry. She’s always going to be spy Merry.
If it is by Langtree I love it. So funny and so much fun and well written. Not a lot of silly filler but lots of off hand remarks and observations that are so funny. Love the characters and the basic story. Please keep them coming!
I love everything about this book, and whole series! Merry Wrath and her Girl Scouts find another body, this time on their Halloween float! Those girls always crack me up, and it seems that some of them in particular are turning out to be more and more like Merry! With all the Halloween festivities, a theft ring, quirky soon-to-be sisters-in-law, a disappearing mother, and even a cat that looks like Hitler masquerading as a werewolf, this book had my attention from the very start!
I had so much fun reading this book. This story is so well written and has such imaginative characters. Merry Wrath is an ex-CIA agent, now a suburbanite leader of a girl scout troop. Those scouts are far too creative for everyone’s sake! Rex, Merry’s fiancee. is a local detective who thinks she needs to stay out of his cases. His twin sisters, the taxidermists want to do the wedding decorations. Merry’s mother is in town to help with wedding prep. This is a really mad romp with so many suspects. This story just rolls along and I had to finish it before I put it down!
LOVE IT! – Fun to read story, cozy mystery, crazy kids, and one over curious ex-spy.
Easy to pick up without having read previous installments in the series.
A real who-done-it that keeps you guessing and provides laugh out loud entertainment!
Fun and flowing writing style that makes you want to keep reading, and reading, and reading!
Intriguing characters that might be a neighbor in your own small town. (OK, maybe not a lot of ex-spies in my neighborhood, right? hmm)
LOVE IT! – Those Girl Scouts
The girls of Merry’s girl scout troop contribute tons of fun! They have crazy ideas that only the young can conjure up and would make great spies. Really, those pinky swears CANNOT be broken!
Their dialog brings smiles and laughs.
“I didn’t kill her,” Andrews whined. “I wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
“You spanked me once, Daddy,” Ava said matter-of-factly. “And last week you said you were going to kill the guy who fixed our car.”
LOVE IT! – Merry and Rex
The relationship between Merry and her fiance, the cop, is both entertaining and romantic. Her tendency to explore and investigate conflicts with his by-the-book job.
“Why were you out here?” Rex asked as he walked through the barn with me on his heels.
“I’ve already told you three times,” I said.
“Tell me again. Maybe I’ll believe it this time.”
I said nothing.
Merry has two outstanding job offers, one from an ex and one recommended by her fiance. Her mother is in town to help with wedding details. Add in one creepy furniture salesman and a cat that likes to wear the werewolf mask. What could go wrong?
I loved this book! I am absolutely going to read more Merry Wrath!!
