Winging her way with charm and confidence…
Claire Thompson delivers a beautiful story of a young woman who takes on a job she is so ill equipped to deliver. Yet she manages to wing her way with charm and confidence and skills from her previous job. She dives head and feet first into an exclusive BDSM club as a Domme. To make some money, is willing to learn the ropes any way she can. What better way than online tutorials, websites and better yet hands on experience from a Dominant.
What she finds along the way, is herself and her true needs. Damon, her tutor and a Dominant see’s Rowan’s true nature and guides her journey and discovery. That’s is ok to be who you are yet play a role that fills the needs of others and remain true to yourself.
Claire writes with passion and focus.
Filled with contrasts – dark, edgy scening to the light hearted, quirky personalities/moments (and secondary characters) blended amongst the passion filled intensity of the two main characters.
This was a fun yet edgy, quick, page-turning weekend read. Claire’s words and scenes are highly descriptive, the content beautifully explained for those that may not have an understanding of this particular aspect in the BDSM lifestyle. You glimpse the apprehension and uncertainty of Rowan as she delves into the unknown desires with her clients and hoping to not be found out, Then her journey that unfolds with Damon as she discovers her true self, which gave contrast to Rowan’s character.
I always enjoy Claire Thompson books.
This one was a good read in which Rowan quits/gets fired from her job and needs to find another one. She decides to try her hand at being a professional Domme figuring it would be an easy gig until she finds out she would rather be on the other end of the paddle.
After meeting Damon she gets introduced to that other side and realizes she likes it. Now she is stuck figuring out what she is. (A switch most likely but this book chooses sides).
The Master & the Would-be Domme is a good story, interesting character interactions, and a good ending
I loved ” The Master and the Would Be Domme” This is a great story where both main characters were not looking for a relationship or even a casual hookup really, but when they encountered each other for the first time they had to wonder if “love at first sight” could actually exist even though neither of them believed in that concept. Rowan is in a desperate position of needing to find a job quickly in order to pay her bills and rent, and is very surprised when she actually obtains a job she lied about to get, a job that actually goes against her natural tendencies. Rowan now has 9 days to learn how to be a Professional Domme. When she attends a workshop in “BDSM 101” hoping to learn a few basics she meets Damon, the guest, expert presenter and they seem to have a chemistry that intrigues them both. Damon is sure that Rowan is actually a Natural submissive but offers to give her private instruction to help her develop the skills she needs for her job as a Domme at a private club. Damon secretly hopes to introduce Rowan to her submissive self and to help her embrace her true nature. By gaining insight into the submissives’ needs, Rowan excels at her job and becomes a sought after Domme, but can a Natural submissive truly succeed as a Domme and be happy and fulfilled? Damon is a truly caring Dom and always strives to ensure that his submissive’s needs are met and she is cared for in a gentle and sensitive manner despite the harshness that BDSM implies. The question is, can they maintain a true and loving relationship as a couple and Rowan still pursue her career as a Professional Domme? The storyline is well developed and the descriptions are so detailed, I feel I really know the characters. I was able to really get into the story and didn’t want to put it down. There were several times that I had the “Oh, I wonder if she’s going to go in this or that direction with the storyline?” feeling and just had to keep reading to find out. “The Master and the Would Be Domme” is a sensual read with a few chuckle-worthy scenes and several unexpected twists.
Wow what a book! This is actually the first book I’ve read from Claire, all her books are on my TBR, and it was a hot one. I loved the character of Rowan. She is a strong character and when you throw in Damon? Yeah, their chemistry is worth the read. Fantastic book.
READ! READ! READ this book. It is an absolutely unique and fascinating way to learn more about dominance and submission through the eyes of an unaware sub taking on the role of a Domme.
Because of financial difficulties, Rowan answers an ad for an experienced Domme. And, therein lays the conundrum. She is not experienced! She is not even a Domme!
In order to hone her non-existent skills, Rowan signs up for a seminar in Basic Dominance Techniques conducted by Damon, a handsome, sexy Dom. They are drawn together immediately, and Rowan visualizes herself submitting to him. Instead they get together so he can give her some Master/Mistress guidance. Although this scene was meant to be only informative, the first time she used the flogger on Damon, I laughed out loud!
The interactions that take place throughout the entire story were terrific, but I especially loved the dynamic between the two main characters. Watching them get to know each other was extremely fascinating. While reading, I found myself enthralled by the way Damon gently and logically takes Rowan from Domme training sessions into a beginning exploration into her own submissive nature. Obviously, Claire Thompson is quite a talented author.
I was provided an ARC of this book and this is my honest review……
I admit it, I love Claire Thompson’s books . I love her depiction of the relationship between D/s, I love her characters, and I love the pace and rhythm of her books. Rowan was a strong, determined, and curious Domme in training. Damon wanted to help her on that journey, but knew what she really was. Fast read, great chemistry, a few surprises……..one great ride.
What do you do when your boss is a jerk? You quit & hope you can fake it as a domme! I love the premise of this book, the third in this series (and they’re standalones). Rowan is a plucky young woman who takes her new responsibilities very seriously. Luckily, she meets Damon, and she learns so much about herself, and the lifestyle. It’s a painfully sweet love story, with a little twist that leads to everything turning out just the way it’s supposed to. Solid writing, and well-paced with great characters.
Is Rowan really “a sub in Domme’s clothing?” After quitting while being simultaneously fired from a job she loved, Rowan is at loose ends but really needs a job. She is hired as a professional Dominatrix without having any experience and little knowledge of BDSM, afterall, how hard can it be? Just a slap and a tickle, right?. Now, all she has to do is learn everything she can about being a Domme in one week’s time. She attends a seminar on basic BDSM and falls under the thrall of the instructor, Damon King. After Rowan ends up confessing all and he offers to mentor her. In addition, he offers a glimpse into submission. Her job as a Domme offers challenges and some real surprises and she is surprisingly good at it. It pays her bills and then some. Her relationship with Damon deepens both romantically and submissively. She wears his collar. When a fantastic and unexpected offer comes her way to return to the job she loved and leave her faux Domme persona behind, Rowan takes it. The Would Be Domme gets the man and Dom of her dreams and her HEA.
I received this ARC book to review and I absolutely loved it! It was a quick read, probably because I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen next. Rowan quit her job working for a demeaning boss. Her dream job was gone and her rent was due. What to do, what to do? Her friend finds an ad for a dominatrix. Good money and no sex involved. With no experience, outside of the vanilla world, Rowan bluffs her way into the job. She is very conscientious and wants to succeed so she takes a class from a Master. Now, the fun starts with her feelings toward The Master and submission. I learned some new acronyms, even though I have read other BDSM books. The sex scenes are sizzling, but not gratuitous. It’s a true love story with some good twists. Fun, witty and very enjoyable.
Looking for a feel good read with some kink in it. This is the book for you. Claire Thompson is really bringing it with the Finding Master Right Series. This series is easily becoming a favorite. Join Rowan’s journey of truly finding not only her master right, but herself in the process. If maybe a bit unconventional. Being forced to leave her dream job and falling into a position she never dreamed of as a Pro Dominatrix. Which she has absolutely no experience in the BDSM lifestyle let alone a Domme. However, some how she lands the job and has to start in a little more than a week. Rowan is desperate to get some training and fast. So she signs up for a class and meets Master Damon King, who isn’t fooled by her Dominatrix persona. He calls her on it and agrees to train her. Rowan’s life comes full circle with this amazing love story. However, you are going to have to read it to find out how it unfolds. I never hesitate in buying any of Claire Thompson’s books and have not been disappointed.
I really enjoyed this book as I have all of Claire Thompson’s works. Rowan has a terrible boss and quits at the same time she is fired. She is worried about how she will pay the bills when her friend recommends that she apply to become a professional dominatrix. Rowan fakes her way through the interview and is hired on the spot. In her crash course studying to become a domme she signs up for a workshop taught by Damon. The attraction and chemistry is instantaneous. Can she submit and find her true nature with Damon while continuing her professional work as a domme? The exploration of Rowan’s submission and the developing relationship is a wonderful story that kept me engaged throughout. I highly recommend this book.
The third book in the series, but each book is a standalone book with a new couple and story.
Rowan quit her job after her boss makes her life miserable and needs a new job. She answers an add for a Domme, the only problem she has zero experience and she is actually a sub. Damon is more then willing to teach her the ropes.
I loved seeing Roman’s journey. Not only as a Domme, but also as a sub. While she explores her own desires, she is able to use those feelings and experiences while being a Domme and understanding the subs she is working with. it is a journey of self exploration and growth. It is also a very sensual read.
The finding Master Right Series is very different from Claire Thompson’s other books. Each book has a unique perspective and The Master & the Would-be Domme is no exception, I am sure every reader would like a Damon of their own. It is a fast read with a fascinating concept, Rowan shows her courage both in quitting her job under awful circumstances and then going into a role that she has no experience in and is the opposite of her true nature.
This is a fun story that will have readers sighing with contentment at the end much as Rowan feels following a session with Damon.
