Sinner is the first book in the Reed Security Series. It is preceded by the series For The Love Of A Good Woman and it is recommended that the series be read in order, as characters from the first appear in the second.Just when I think it can’t get any hotter, Giulia Lagomarsino does it again. It seems like each book is just packed with even more of a punch than the last. I’m truly amazed at her … punch than the last. I’m truly amazed at her ability to write such intense, emotional, relatable books with extremely strong, bold characters that are SO different than the last. I literally just read her newest book start to finish in one sitting, in 7 hours, with no regrets. I’ve always been a sucker for romance novels, but the level of human emotion and intimacy that Giulia is able to bring to life is just sucker-punchingly, edge-of-your-seat, feeling-all-the-feels, good. I cannot wait until her next book. Until then, I’ll be in a book coma from the Sintastic story I just finished. -Crystal Rice
“I could maybe get some information out of him. Maybe I could-”
“No, Freckles. You’re not a field agent,” Sebastian said sharply.
“But I’m a woman. I could talk with-”
“No.”
“Sinner, tell him I can handle it.”
Sebastian turned a glare on me.
“I could take her with me,” I shrugged.
“What part of my glare did you not understand?” Sebastian asked me.
“Hey, she’s good backup.”
“Then maybe I’ll let her be your backup while you’re on desk duty.”
“Shit, Cap. You don’t have to be so mean.”
Cara
I’ve been broken for six years. I only started leaving my house three years ago, but I waited too long and now I’m so screwed up that I can barely stand to be around other people without freaking out. When a handsome, strong man with gorgeous eyes comes to my rescue twice, my therapist suggests he become a therapy buddy of sorts to help me. His jovial personality sets me at ease and he really does start to help me heal, but my untrustworthy nature takes over and could ruin the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Sinner
Everyone calls me Sinner because of my reputation with the ladies. I was in Special Forces until a few years ago and now I work for Reed Security. I love my job, but it’s hard on relationships, which is why I don’t try. Until her. Everyone sees her as damaged, but I see her spirit, her fight. I can’t seem to get enough of her, but when my relationship with her threatens my job, I’m forced to choose which I want more. I just hope I chose right.

This fantastic book was so well written that it captured my attention from page one and the characters were so well rounded that I ended up reading this book on one sitting!
Cara is a 29 year old woman who was abducted 6 years prior. Through the turmoil she came out with anxiety and other disorders. It;s hard for her to be in public. Her therapist suggests she go to a restaurant alone that way she wouldn;t the judgement from family or friends when she got nauseous. After she leaver her therapist she goes to a diner and asks for water and fruit. Unfortunately she starts to get shaky and spills the water which sets off the waitress. Then she knocks into another waitress and the anxiety causes her to black out. Sinner is there and manages to keep her head from hitting the ground. He follows her out and when he makes a comment startles her that she spray pepper;s him. From this unlikely incident a sort of non relationship develops which her therapist suggests for her good. Life just gets to complicated and a little dangerous.
Fantastic story and read. Love the story line of anxiety disorders and the stress that has on the individual as well as those in the circle.

This is book one in the series, however it is a spinoff from another series. It might be best to read the previous series to get a better idea of what happened. It seemed as if I was placed in the middle of a story. I still enjoyed the story. Eventually it came into its own. Cara was held captive by a psycho and has a hard time re-entering society. She suffers from severe anxiety. After 3 years, she takes the advice of her counselor and tries to get back out there. She ends up in a a funny situation (although stressful to her) and meets Sinner. He is patient and very helpful to Cara. He distracts her with dirty talk and sex. His attempts to help may seem pushy and unorthodox, but overall they work. He is known as a hit em and quit em kind of guy. When they begin their “relationship” there is push back from family and friends. This is when the story start to stake on its own story line. The story has plenty of hot scenes. There is gun fire, car chases, near death scenes and it still manages to add some comedy. I will continue to series to follow the other characters.

In this book we meet Cara Donnelly and Mark “Sinner” Sinn. Cara is still fighting back from a time when she was abducted. She has panic attacks just going out in public now. So at the advice of her therapist she tries going to a dinner she knows alone. That way she doesn’t feel like she is ruining anyone else’s time when she has her attacks. Little did she know when, the panic attack she knew she would have happens, she opens her eyes to a man who makes her feel calm for once. That didn’t last long though and next thing she know she is now taxiing Sinner around since she maced him and he can’t see. Sinner knew something was going on with Cara at that dinner he just didn’t get to her before she passed out. Sinner wants to get to know her and a whole lot more if he can. Will these two find a HEA or will her anxieties and outside forces make sure that never happens?
This is an amazing story. It does have it ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will tell you this is the first story in a series. It does need to be read in order otherwise you will give away things from one book to the next. However that being said, this book will grab you and not let go till the very end even then you will be wanting more. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
An exciting story that has good character development with its strong and likeable characters. Sinn and Cara are both broken people suffering from PTSD. This story includes suspense, action, chemistry, romance and passion. In this entertaining storyline it has Cara litereally falling into the arms of Sinn. I loved the comedy along with some darkness making for an amazing storyline. A great start to a series in this standalone.

Cara was kidnapped and then rescued. It took her 3 yrs to leave her brothers house! Several years later she still suffers from extreme anxiety! When she passes out from a severe panic attack and wake to see a gorgeous man holding her she’s humiliated until she realizes he understands and isn’t judging her. This book is about trauma and finding the strength deep inside you to help you get through. It’s also about admitting when you need help and not judging people. This was a book full of drama, danger, heartfelt moments. The only thing I didn’t care for was the crude language used and it had too many sex scenes that weren’t necessary to tell the story! Otherwise I would have given it 4 stars

Cara tries to do what her doctor suggests and head to the restaurant by herself to help with her problems, but it doesn’t end well, and she opens her eyes to the bluest eyes she’s ever seen. She can’t believe she passed out in front of the sexiest man she’s ever seen.
Trying to leave before things get worse doesn’t work when she sprays pepper spray, not realising it was the man that helped her and ends up at Reed Security, she learns his name is Sinner, Mark but everyone calls him Sinner.
Sinner knew some of what Cara had been through and turned on that she was snarky, her spark was still there, he wanted to bring her out of her shell and in his bed, although messed up her eyes drew him in, but he knew it was going to take effort.
Cara’s therapist suggests having a casual relationship with Sinner, there is a level of trust there and he handles her panic attack, but Cara wants to try on her own, Mark Sinn could break her heart.
After having a panic attack that lasts days, when Sinner arrives, he just holds her and leaves confusing Cara, but he lets her know he has to, they’ve both had a hard few days and she’s not ready for the way he wants to claim her.
After learning what happened to Cara, Mark goes to see her brother and letting him know that the way he treats her doesn’t help he feel better but makes her feel worse about herself.
Returning to Cara’s, Mark never expected her to shut him out, or call him Sinner, she told him it was over, and he realised that the more he knew her the more he didn’t want casual. Realising that he’s lost his job and the girl he was falling for he knew it was time to move and start over.
After talking to her therapist, and being told that what Mark did was out of love, Cara realises that she made a mistake, and that a lot of what Mark was saying was right, and she needs to fix things herself starting with her brother, who is all team Mark, Cara knows that it may be too late but she has to go see him and convince him that she was wrong and hope he will listen, she never expected what she would walk into going to see him.
