“The lying sub he shouldn’t have. The only sub he wanted.”
It’s like Christmas every time I get my hands on a new #ClubVolare book. It was back in 2013 that the author first got my attention with #SavageRhythm. At the time I was just addicted to Rockstar Romance, but after reading about that sexy rocker who is also a Dom, she soon had me addicted to Club Volare and BDSM too. And nothing has changed, I keep coming back for more.
Bette’s beauty is not just on the outside, but her insecurities convince her otherwise. She’s had to depend on her curves to pay the bills, but she doesn’t regret that decision, she has her reasons. You’d think that decision might put her in the path of some unsavory characters, and you’d be right. But truthfully, it’s her heart that gets her in the most trouble.
Spencer Cole might protect and serve as a career, but during his free time he’s a Dom and he’s not the one serving. After being burned by his ex, his bullshit detector is turbo-charged and very accurate. He knew the instant he first saw her that she was lying. That’s something that is a hard limit for him, he cannot stand lying, but for some reason, he was drawn to her. “She might be a lying sub, but she faced her fear with courage. And that was his kryptonite. He fucking wanted her.”
What fun it was for me to anticipate the first meeting between these two. Of course, I knew they were D/s, even though she didn’t, and I was expecting their chemistry to be explosive. It was mesmerizing to watch them discover each other; I felt their connection, it was so strong it resonated through the pages of my Kindle. I could not put it down until I turned the last page, it was that good.
And no, it was not just the bossy and sexy side of things that kept me spellbound. There are also secrets and suspense woven into this touching story. One minute I was riled up and ready to throw my shovel in the trunk to assist and the next I was peeking around corners getting my voyeur on. The story is told in dual POV so I was in the heads of both characters. But what really kept me on the edge of my seat was the reason she was lying in the first place. I kept encouraging her to spill the beans, but she didn’t listen to me, I guess I don’t have that Dom voice that works on her. Actually, now that I think about it, I don’t think any other Dom voice would work her on her… just his.
#PrivateDancer pushed all of the right buttons for me and even a few extra. The author gave me a glimpse of something that might be in the works for a future book, another sexy Dom that caught my attention, and I can hardly contain myself as I wait to find out if I’m right. The line forms here…
Private Dancer by Chloe Cox is her 12th book of the Club Volare series.
This is the story of Cole and Bette. From the very first encounter, sparks fly. It’s like they have known each other for years. Cole and Bette just click right away. They both have exes they would rather forget and scars that cut them deep. Should they take a chance on this whirlwind attraction or is it just about sex. Can Cole be her Dom but not her man? Does he want to?
This book was another visit to our favorite club, Volare. Getting to see old some old characters is always great. Chloe did a great job of telling this love story with just the right amount of spice.
I just wish the epilogue took place later in time so we could see them with kids.
Loved this book and looking forward to the next book which will feature the Boston Club Volare
