Single dad and hockey star, Calder Weiss has put his love life on the back burner for the past five years, raising his daughter and keeping up with the demands of his profession. But all that changes the minute Rachel Perry runs into him in the most unlikely of places, right outside the men’s bathroom. Vibrant and enchanting, she captures his attention, making it impossible for him to walk away … walk away without scoring her number.
Their connection is immediate, their attraction palpable, and their relationship undeniable. But Rachel isn’t the only girl in Calder’s life which scares him, because Calder’s daughter already lost her mother. He doesn’t want Shea to lose someone close to her again, making Rachel’s task of breaking through Calder’s wall that much more difficult.

I love me a good single dad story, it’s one of my favorites to read. What a fun and cute novella. Calder in the beginning with his daughter Shea, priceless. I really loved the banter between Calder and Rachel. Their text messages to each other had me chuckling. Then we got of more Hayden! Whoo boy I can’t wait for his story!
This was a funny and hawt novella!! I loved getting to know Calder and Rachel and how they instantly hit it off. I absolutely love how good of a Dad Calder is and would do anything for his little girl. He’s confident and caring but has his vulnerable side as well and that his sexy in it’s on right. Rachel is witty and smart and has a great sense of humor. I wouldn’t mind them having a more longer book cause these two are great and then had Shea, Calder’s daughter, and it’s a perfect mix!! Like I said the only thing wrong with this book was it was to short!!!
This novella was part of a sports anthology called Team Player and I have to say for a short quick read this story really packs some punches as with all Meghan Quinn books you get characters that you can relate to and that you will fall in love with because let’s be honest what’s not to love about a hot hockey player who happens to be a single dad and to cap it off he has no worries about going out dressed as Wanda the fairy for his little girl( that was the point my heart skipped a beat and my ovaries went into overdrive).Calder is the perfect father but when he meets Rachel he realises something is missing from his life and maybe he does have room in his heart for love, Rachel is a school teacher and the perfect woman for Calder and his daughter she is kind, caring and extremely funny. For a short read there was no shortness of passion, humour and plenty of hilarious banter.
This is a must read for all Meghan Quinn fans but it’s also a must read introduction book if you have never read this author before.
