The storyline was good and the characters were well developed which made this book a very enjoyable read! This was the first book that I have read by this author and I look forward to reading more from her!
A clean well-written story that I liked reading. Savannah has been sent to boarding school when her parents cannot handle her anymore she has gotten out of control. She meets Grey her counselor in the boarding school. Both have feelings for the other but Grey will not act on it at the time, they meet again at a later point in their lives. I enjoyed the interaction between these two. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Embracing Courage has a very interesting premise for a Christian romance: a rebellious high school girl falls for her counselor, and he for her. Grey is an ethical Christian man, so Savannah graduates without ever knowing his attraction. Obviously for this to be a romance, they meet again. Some of the dialogue seemed stilted to me. Although the plot was great, I didn’t care for the author’s writing style. I felt like I was being told rather than shown. The point of view is first person mostly from Savannah. Savannah’s character is very well developed. There is an HEA and an epilogue.

Savannah and Grey met each other when he was her counselor on boarding school when she wasn’t in a good place.
Can Savannah overcome her past and be the person Grey wants her to be so they can live a Christian life together?
When you love Christian stories this is your book but at some points it was a bit to much for me. The story itself was entertaining.

Rebellious Teen Matures in Christianity
This story is about a rebellious teen finding Christ and straightening out her walk. There is no depth to either the characters or the plot of this story. It is mostly unrealistic and cliché ridden. Even the message of faith seems to be held at arms length and not fully embraced. SPOILER…I have not heard a 20 year old call herself a ‘housewife’ ever! In discussing her plans after marriage, our heroine says,” But then I can pursue a career anytime I want. It’s the twenty-first century and women have that ability now,” something no real woman of today would ever say. One more; what 20 something woman would ever say “I know you’re right, my dear husband. You’re always right.” without being sarcastic or laughing. In reading this book, I thought the author was either a man or an aged woman. I was totally surprised to find out that this was not so. I read quite a few young adult and Christian romance stories, most are good stories with a plot. This is not one of them. I received this ARC book for free and voluntarily chose to post my honest review
Savannah Patterson is a troubled teen, who is sent to Our Lady of Virtue Boarding School for Girls to be reformed and lead a Christian life. Grey Templeton is the guidance counselor there and Savannah is attracted to him at their first counseling session. But he’s all about God and bringing Jesus into people’s lives and she’s a non-believer. I think there was too much emphasis on that and not enough focus on the fact that Savannah acted confident but she was drinking herself sick and letting boys use her because she really didn’t feel good about herself. After several missteps she accepts God and turns her life around. Savannah and Grey meet up again a year later when she is in college and they can act on their attraction to each other.
