AntonWhen I was assigned the job to find out who exactly orchestrated the hit on Mariana Petran, I jumped at the opportunity. To attack the queen of the clans is an attack against us all. I was to find the man who ordered it – and I did. I also found myself a feisty redhead; something I considered a cherry on top of the sundae as I headed to her hometown to destroy the man responsible for it all. it all.
So, there I was, delivering a bloody and violent end to the scum that betrayed us when the door opens, and in walks my feisty redhead; Natasha.
Natasha
I came home from a wild night out with the girls and found my uncle bloodied and bruised, with a gun held to the back of his head. The man holding the gun – my boyfriend, Anton.
I never thought that I would be begging for his life – doing anything that I could to save him. But he’s my family. He’s the only link I have left to my mother.
Anton didn’t tell me he was in the Romanian Mob – but I never confessed I was the niece of a head clan member, or anything about my father, but we’ll get to that later.
Anton named his price. I didn’t understand why, what he could possibly find valuable with taking the niece of Clan Constantin – especially when he already had me.
I accepted the terms, the trade. I’d do anything to save my uncle, even if that meant sacrificing myself. Anton promised me that he wouldn’t kill my uncle, like a dumb girl I assumed that meant my uncle would live.
Anton may not have pulled the trigger, but make no mistake – he killed my uncle.
The loving man I’d learned to care about over the past few weeks turned into something feral – I didn’t even know the man I was falling in love with.
I waited for my father, and prayed he would come for me.
They didn’t even know the girl they were taking.
They were clueless.

The Trade (The Clans, Book 2) can be listened to as a standalone, but better if listened in order. I listened to book one a while ago but wish I would have listened to them closer together to remember the characters from book one. I absolutely loved book one and couldn’t wait to listen to book two. I personally loved book one and was hoping and expecting to love book two just as much but didn’t. I love mafia dark romances and this fits that perfectly. This audio is entertaining, I enjoyed it, just not as much as Book one and I’m looking forward to listening to the next audio in this series.
Narator Lacy Laurel did a fantastic performance narating this audio. It was easy to distinguish between the characters. Her inflection changed when necessary with the right sentiments.
I was soooo excited for this book!!!! The first book, Promised, was the first book of Elizabeth’s I read. From there I totally fell in love! I couldn’t wait for the second book in the series and to see what came next! I love that we got to see Mariana and Ion in this book, especially got to see how fierce Mariana is. LOVE IT!
There were so many surprises in this book. I try to not think of the blurbs for books when I read them, in face with this one I hadn’t read the blurb in so long I didn’t even remember! I knew at some point the clan would come up, but I wasn’t sure how. I love the different twists and turns, because they really made this book more insightful. It also helped it from being too predictable, there are always certain things that we might expect, but Elizabeth did a really good job of taking us in a different direction right when we thought we knew what was going on.
I love everything about Anton and Natasha. They were everything that I had hope and dreamed of for the second book in this series!!! Anton is the PERFECT alpha male, flaws and all! And Natasha, I love her so much in the! She’s so strong, and she’s everything Anton isn’t, and more. Which makes them so perfect!! There were even more twist and turns with her, THEY WERE THE BEST!!!
This book excited me so much, I CANNOT WAIT FOR MOREEEE!!!!
Natasha hasn’t had it easy. She is the daughter of one of the most powerful and feared men around the world. After getting out of an abusive relationship and her uncle helping her to become a strong independent woman she meets Anton at a club while on a much needed girl’s vacation with her best friend. She can tell right away that there is more him then he shares.
He sees Natasha from the second floor of his club and is instantly attracted to her. He has one of his goons go and get her. He can tell right away that she is feisty and doesn’t take anyone’s crap. After there short time together he knows he wants more with her, so much more but when things go wrong will he lose her or gain her love??
As Anton and Natasha get closer to each other they learn the dark truths about one another. What happens when someone they both know shows up and tries to derail things for them?? Will it tear them apart or bring them even closer to each other??
I am SO looking forward to more stories from Elizabeth Knox I kinda wish I had a fast forward button so I didn’t have to wait!! LOL
Thank you for another fantastic story Elizabeth!!
This is a good story. I enjoyed Anton and Natasha. Learning about what they are in this series was interesting. I will say I felt there could have been more. They talk about him, but I would have liked to have read more about him. More detail. He just seemed like a puzzle that didn’t get solved. I can’t go into more because I don’t want to give anything away. Just read it for yourself.
Absolutely love this book. It was amazing from the beginning to the end. So very enjoyable with some suspense thrown in. Fast paced with a great story line. Elizabeth did an amazing job writing this one . I loved the characters and the chemistry between them. It is off the charts hot. Great book highly recommend. Can’t wait to read more in this series.
Anton is a man used to getting what he wants and he wants Natasha from the moment she walks into his Miami night club. Natasha is the daughter of a ruthless Russian arms dealer who recently escaped the clutches of vicious abuser with the help of her uncle who is the head of the Clan Constantin. Anton and Natasha’s mutual attraction is instantaneous and has them entering into a hot and heavy relationship without really knowing each other until one fateful night brings their two worlds crashing into one another. As the leader of Clan Balan, Anton is forced to take out the threat to the Queen. What he doesn’t know is that the supposed threat is actually his girlfriend’s uncle. This situation causes a rift between the two that time may not be able to heal. Will Anton be able to convince Natasha he is the man she met and fell for on vacation or will Natasha always see him as the man who ordered the death of her uncle. Elizabeth Knox takes you on a journey of power, secrets and manipulation from outside influences that will keep you guessing to how it will all end.
I am officially hooked! Anton was definitely one hot mofo with his swoony moments. Couldn’t be the alpha he is without you wanting to junk punch him a time or two though. Loved Natasha with her confidence and kickass attitude. Not to mention one amazing wardrobe enough to make anyone jealous.
Things are about to change for the better in this book. I am left with so many questions I still need from the books to come. Like I said, hooked!
The Trade is book 2 of The Clans and can be read as a standalone. But I do recommend reading book 1, Promised, to get a better background on the Romanian Mafia and previous characters. Even if Natasha and Anton get their HEA, the life of The Clans are from from over. Ending this greatly written story told in dual POV in a slight cliffy for the next story to come. Not a story your want to miss out on.
Anton sees Natasha in a nightclub he knows what he wants and that is her. He invites her up to his VIP lounge and Natasha sees what she wants too… Anton. They pursue a relationship but soon they both find out that there are lies and secrets that may separate them. When Natasha trades her life for another it may be the biggest mistake of her life. Wow! This series just keeps getting better and better. Anton and Natasha are two strong people. This story has twists that kept me guessing what was next. I cannot wait for the next book. What a great series!!! Must Read.
