Bianca Devlin’s work is her life. Now, she’s finally taking a vacation…and guerillas hit her resort to kidnap a diplomat’s son. She does the only thing that makes sense–intervene to save the child’s life. Being dragged into the jungle with a scared kid she’s determined to protect was definitely not how she saw this trip ending. After she returns to Texas, the last person Bianca expected to … expected to see was Sergeant Carlos “Cage” Castillo, the member of Bravo Team WOLF that helped rescue her. Nevertheless, there he is, living across the street from the house she just bought. The coincidence is alarming, but she has to admit, his presence isn’t entirely unwanted.
But there’s something off about Cage–the way he can move without a sound or the weird way his eyes seem to almost glow at times. And how can Bianca manage her growing attraction, when everything she knows about him and his reason for being there, turns out to be a lie?

My Thoughts – 5 out of 5 Unicorns – I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I have bought this book and the first one too!
The cover is what attracted me to the book because military and shifters means must read!
This is my first time reading Heather’s work though I’m not sure why since I own 26 of her books currently. This is the 2nd book in this series, and it is for adults only due to the violence and steamy content. You should be aware that there is abuse by guerillas in this book, so take appropriate action for you.
This book was action-packed and humorous! I love both Bianca and Cage’s senses of humor. They fit together and are a matched set. Bianca can definitely take care of herself, but now Cage wants to protect her. The camaraderie with Cage’s unit is awesome. I love how they all come together to help Cage. HEAs are my favorite kind of book especially where shifters are involved. I can’t wait to go read book 1 and more of Heather’s books that I own. I really liked Heather’s writing style and the humor that went into it.
I highly recommend to wolf shifter lovers who love military men, romance, and HEAs!
I gotta say when it comes to the authors that are published under Entangled, I have been quite a fan of their shapeshifter books I’ve come across. Even though Bitten Under Fire went a different direction than other shifter books I have read, I still found it rather enjoyable. This was a first time read from Heather Long and I have become completely entranced with her writing and Bitten Under Fire definitely won’t be the last book I’ll read by her.
Now I bet you’re wondering why I mentioned that this book went in a different direction than others I have read. To me, Bitten Under Fire felt like it was completely focused on something that Bianca was going through and the romance (of course) between Cage and her. With other shifter stories, I’m so used to them being action packed, so I think that’s what forced me to look at this book in a completely different way.
With Cage essentially being a part of a special forces team in the Marine Corps, on a rescue mission was the first time he first set eyes on Bianca. It wasn’t just her beauty that caught his eye, but her instincts to protect a child that wasn’t hers. And it was this very moment that he could probably do anything to get this woman to safety and protect her. Probably a lot longer than he bargained for, but I don’t see him complaining anytime soon.
I admired Bianca’s character so much, she was strong and I loved her complete loyalty to the child she was protecting. And I found her personality rather easy-going even if she did have tendencies to keep to herself, which made me a bit sad at times. But I loved how Cage was able to sneak into her daily routine especially since he decided to move across the street from her. As much as I would love to go into detail about why he did that, you’re just going to have to pick up your own copy and find out for yourself.
The romance between these two had an easy and natural pace, which made it totally real to me. I was hoping for more with the plot and definitely wishing for more of Cage and Bianca’s story. I felt like there’s still so much to share about them, which I hope we’ll get more off with the other books to come.
Definitely adding this series to my TBR because I’m looking forward to reading more from Heather Long.

Bitten Under Fire by Heather Long is a sassy yet passion filled story.
Life can change in a matter of moments. Bianca Devlin has dedicated her life to helping out those in need and never making a moment to think about herself. The one time she’s forced to take a vacation for herself, she can’t help but continue her hero-ing. When a young boy is taken by jungle rogues, she can’t help but put herself in dangers way. Just when it’s starting to look like her heroic streak might have finally done Bianca in, Sergent Carlos “Cage” Castillo and the members of Bravo team WOLF comes to the rescue. Strong, brave and a bit cocky, Bianca couldn’t help but fall for him (literally and physically).
As suave as Cage might come off to those around him, he was hiding a big secret, and one that he feared might affect more than just his life. Cage is part wolf, born with the ability to shift into his wolf form whenever he wants and is always connected to his other side. In the process of saving Bianca and the boy from their captors, he might have bitten her. Not only worried about her safety and future, but also intrigued by the mysterious beauty, Cage implements himself into Bianca’s life. What he didn’t expect was to fall for her. She was nothing like he expected her to be but everything he soon learned that he wanted. His only fear was that he had changed the course of her life forever, and how would she look at him once she learned the truth about his kind and what he’d done?
The spark that is between Cage and Bianca flourishes from the very beginning of the book. Their relationship is portrayed in such a real way that captured the rush that comes with falling quickly for someone. In such a short time, Long is able to capture the true essence of what people describe as “knowing they found the one”. Both characters are strong-willed and slightly scared at their feelings, but unwavering in wanting to be together. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars because it captures readers from the beginning and keeps them hooked throughout the whole story.
This is book two in the Bravo Team Wolf series and it features Bianca and Carlos “Cage” Castillo. She’s beautiful, brave and resourceful. I am so glad that her stubborn nature didn’t turn out to make me dislike her. Cage was amazing! He’s sexy, attentive and did I say sexy? Yeah, he is all that! From hearing her description of him I have this picture in my head that I put together with the voice I imagined he’d have…PERFECTION! His team’s been sent on a mission. He didn’t mean to do it It was an accident. .
Great story line with plenty of action. The characters are fabulous! There are so many things I’m looking forward to in future books in this series. I can’t wait!
Action, Danger, Romance…what a fun read!
This story starts out with lots of action and danger, which immediately pulled me in and made me a big fan of Bianca. She’s been forced to take a vacation from her job as a relief worker…and boom, she finds herself kidnapped with a diplomat’s son and fighting for both of their lives. I loved her selflessness, her ability to be pragmatic, and her resilience – especially when faced with adversity. Cage was all alpha wolf, but I also loved getting to see and feel his “softer” and romantic side when it came to Bianca. He’s immediately attracted to Bianca, so when circumstance has him needing to be in close proximity to her, there was no doubt these two were going to be steaming up the pages.
Although this book focuses mostly on just Cage and Bianca, we do get to interact with some of the other members of Brava Team WOLF, and I just loved the scenes with Kaitlyn (from book 1) as well as seeing Cage’s team help him untangle his mess. I also enjoyed meeting Cage’s father and loved seeing their relationship change as events unfolded.
I’m always impressed by Heather Long’s ability to write the emotions onto the page, and she once again so easily conveys the feelings within and between the characters. This story starts off fast-paced but does slow down a bit during the last half of the book, focusing more on the romance and relationships, but still had me turning the pages to see how things would finally work themselves out.
Kudos to the author for creating another great world for her wolves to play in!
I loved it! This book grabbed my attention from the first. Bianca is such a stellar character and so full of courage. Little Collin sure tugged at the heart strings as well. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. Highly recommend it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I freely leave this honest review.
This is Book 2 in the Bravo Team WOLF series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. This is the first book of Heather Long’s that I read in a while. I will be going back and getting more of her books. It was so good. I can’t believe that it’s been a while since I’ve read her books. They are always so good. Bianca is forced to take a vacation and she goes to this resort. While there, the bad guys kidnap a little boy and she tries to save him and gets kidnapped herself. This is where WOLF comes in and we meet Cage. There’s some very exciting scenes in this book and the relationship between Bianca and Cage are great. Then there’s the scene between Cage and his dad, who just happens to be his Alpha. I wasn’t happy with his dad telling him, I’m your dad but I’m always your Alpha. See, I didn’t agree with that. Sometimes, Dad is more important than Alpha. But maybe that’s why I’m not an Alpha. In the end, it all came together and made me laugh and cry. The characters were all written so that you could easily see them living in the real world. I loved that. Now I must go back and read Book 1 so that I can be caught up with the story. Then the wait for the next book. I voluntarily read and read this book that I received from Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The second book in the Bravo Team WOLF series by Heather Long confirms that my initial assessment of this series was spot on, in fact I would have to say I may have underestimated a bit. Bitten Under Fire is a thrilling romance that gets the heart pumping and passion raging.
This story starts off with quite an adrenaline punch and gets more exciting as it continues. It is fast paced with lots of dangerous thrills, twists that keep readers on the edge of their seat and a major secret that not only will have to be revealed but could destroy all the happiness this couple could have before it really gets started.
Bianca and Cage have lots of electrifying chemistry and being the strong, compelling characters they are, they easily draw readers into their lives as they strive for an happily ever after which in there is threatened by a major secret and plenty of emotional turbulence. The attraction between Bianca and Cage is undeniable, the passion is red hot and readers can’t help but hope that they can overcome the obstacles and become another strong Bravo Team WOLF couple.
Heather Long has definitely created an exciting paranormal military world with lots of fascinating characters that I just want to sink my teeth into again and again. These wolves are tough, sexy and easily set hearts to pounding and passions burning and I can’t wait until their next mission.

This story had me from me page one and kept my attention throughout. I loved the WOLF team and can’t wait to read more of their stories!
In this book we have the team heading in to find an ambassador’s son and the woman that attached herself to him when guerilla warriors kidnapped and drug him away into the jungle. Bianca Devlin has devoted her life to making the lives of others better by working for NGO’s providing relief to those in need around the world and though on vacation stepped in to help Collin when others did not. Enter Carlos “Cage” Castillo and three of his team sent in to find Collin and remove him, and any other innocents, from the bad guys. And, they do so, in a very bloody manner. An accidental bite occurs that could change the path of Bianca’s life and Cage feels the need to stay nearby to determine what the outcome will be.
I love books that provide characters I would love to know in real life and this book did just that. Bianca is a wonderful person who cares about others and actually does something to make the world a better place. Cage is a dedicated Marine, team player and there for his pack. The two of them together are a match that is a joy to read about. When I finished the book I wanted to read more in the series and now have to wait to see what will come next.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.
4-5 Stars
Only an overachiever like aid worker Bianca Devlin could find herself fighting for her own and a young child’s life when she is on vacation. She will need to pull on every bit of her strength to survive the jungle and the after effects.
Sergeant Carlos “Cage” Castillo and his very special team of marines are sent to rescue a child. As wolves they can track easily, and terminate the problems they might find. Unfortunately sometimes mistakes can happen.
A paranormal, romantic suspense with a very exciting story line. Lots of soul searching from our hot hero. Guilt and desire are playing havoc with his self control. You can read this book on it’s own but we meet some fascinating characters in this, that I hope we will get to see more of in the next books in the series.
A very hard book to put down once you start.
This story grabbed me by the throat and pulled me in from the first page! I really like the slow and natural build-up of the relationship. I also liked that their lifestyles and careers seemed mutually exclusive; the author was in no hurry to get this sorted out, and one of the things that made this a page-turner was being so hooked into the characters and eager to see how they wind up making it work. I loved the way the story played out, and the pacing was just perfect. The tension between Cage and his father was tangible, but you could tell just when the shift in their relationship occurred. Bianca’s reaction to discovering wolves and that she’d been bitten was perfectly natural, and it was fabulous to see how they made everything work out. If I could give TEN stars I would!
First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
Wow. This story was gr8. My emotions were all over the place, I laughed. & I cried. Bianca is one strong woman. The life she leads does truly make her a superhero. Cage is so sexy, strong, & caring as well. He fits so perfectly with Bianca it’s sort of freaky. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up.
I would consider this a sweet and sexy shifter romance, with a great meet cute. You know, girl just having a vacation in some central american resort, gets kidnapped along with a little boy, keeps protecting little boy from nasty elements, gets rescued by hunky, sexy secret ops group and oh, yeah gets bitten along the way by a wolf. Now, all she has to do is wait for her turning and maybe gets her romance as well. In Bitten Under Fire, the second book in Heather Long’s Bravo Team. Wolf series, Bianca was accidentally bitten by Cage while being rescued in the jungles of Central America. Cage now has to find out if she really was bitten and decide what to do if she turns. He never imagined to fall for this feisty, sexy, good Samaritan along the way. Now, how to break it to her that she might be turning into a wolf shifter is another matter. I love how this story played out, if I take away the action/adventure aspect plus the whole turning to a wolf thing, its a definite blue print on how a relationship unfolds slowly. There was a lot of banter, sexy flirting and sweet moments between Bianca and Cage plus yes lots of sexy times as well. But it’s how they are with each other that makes this story quite compelling. Looking forward to the next book!
