A witch outrunning her past. Five smoldering-hot guardians. And the dark secret that could destroy them all… Blackmoon Bay is a city of monsters. Surviving here means never leaving home without a sharp stake. It means keeping secrets, even from friends. And unless I want the Hunters finding me again, it means my witchcraft stays on permanent lockdown. Good policy—until the night I accidentally … the night I accidentally resurrect a dead girl, rekindling my magic and drawing the Bay’s most dangerous men to my doorstep.
Asher, the bad-boy incubus. Darius, the cunning, oh-so-sexy vampire. Emilio, the wolf shifter with a big heart and a treacherous past. Ronan, the only demon I trust with my soul. And Death himself, bound to my magic for reasons I don’t understand.
Together they’ve sworn to protect me from the evil out there, but it’s not the evil out there I’m worried about.
A shadow lurks inside me, black and deadly as a bomb.
And I’m pretty sure my magical mishap just lit the fuse.
I’m Gray Desario. Witch. Survivor. Occasional bringer of chaos. And tonight? The darkness is coming…

Love, love, love this! I’m starting the third book right now, actually, and realized I haven’t sent out a rec for the first book yet (shame on me!). Shadow Kissed is an awesome start to a RH urban fantasy series full of magic, secrets, steam, and hotter than hell characters. I adore the MC’s mix of toughness and vulnerability! Plus, I’m really loving the use of tarot in this series <3
5 stars for Shadow kissed by Sarah Piper. This is book one in The Witch’s Rebels series. This is my first book from this author, but I can guarantee it will not be my last. Gray is a witch who hasn’t her powers for years until she brings a young girl back from the dead. A tragedy a long time ago changed her life now with the help Rohan a demon, Asher an incubus, Darius a vampire, Emilio a wolf shifter, and Liam death himself, maybe she will find her way. This book was action packed and I can not wait to see what the next book will bring.
A reverse harem series, about A witch, that her men A vampire, A demon A shifter and Death himself are trying go to keep Satan from taking her soul that someone bargained with before she was born. All while trying to save a bunch of Witches that a madman has in his clutches. Satan will just have to wait…He thinks he has won… Well, Grey is one clever witch, indeed…
A Really Good Start To This RH Series!!
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
Gray is a Witch hiding her powers. Hunters are real, lethal & without conscience!! She’s lived quietly, with her BFF,another Witch Sophie. She’s also got Ronan, a Demon, who protects her & she lusts after!
After stepping in to try & save a young girl from being brutalized, Gray accesses magic she didn’t know she had & it’s terrifying! In fact it could be grounds for the Supernatural Council to put her to death!! This & another devastating incident brings her into the lives of Darius an ancient Vampire, Emillio a Wolf Shifter & Asher another Demon. Along with Ronan they swear to protect her, no matter what, without explanation!!
Things get extremely messed up but the guy’s & a possible new friend, all step in to try & figure out what is going on. Gray grows closer to Darius & Ronan finally makes a move on her too In fact all 4 men attract her for different reasons but there’s too much going .on …. For now.
I’m hoping the steam & romance best up in book two

The storytelling in Shadow Kissed (The Witch’s Rebels Book 1) was so sophisticated, yet really accessible at the same time. And then there were these unexpected moments of humor (did you just make air quotes at me?) that had me startling the cat with my laughter.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Book one in the brand new Witch’s Rebels series and man what an absolutely incredible start it is too. From the very first page you will find yourself sucked into an amazing fantasy novel. The world building will blow your mind, add some magic, and then add the in depth characters on top of it to get a combination that creates fireworks I must say. The way the guys all interact gave nice twist with Gray to anchor them all. This should get real fun as their relationship moves forward in future installments. Once the s*** hits the fan the story really gets moving until you find yourself turning the last page wishing there more. I just cannot believe how well written this is and everyone has to read it!! Obviously I loved it very much so I give it 5/5 stars.
I have never read a book or a series about witches wherein they aren’t hunted. And this one’s not an exception. I want to see the day witches aren’t hated, or witches don’t hate everyone else aside from fellow witches.
Gray isn’t a heroine who is easy to like nor a heroine one will outright hate. She’s a little too narrow-minded most times which caused a great deal on her eventually. But the narrow-mindedness probably came from fear of being hunted and from years of surviving a closed off life. Thus, the tendency to focus on one thing and one thing only, missing the bigger picture behind that one focal point. It seems to be the recurring theme throughout the book but Gray herself wanted to change such mentality. Bad habits were difficult to breakaway from but what’s truly important was that Gray was actively trying to do so.
Finally, she realized how abstaining magic was actually detrimental to her overall. I’d like to see her go on from this point. She may be frustrating during book 1 but I can see her tremendous efforts in righting her wrongs. I’d like to see her grow.
I have yet to connect with Darius, Emilio and Asher because Ronan seems to be the first to connect with Gray. And I think, rightfully so? From his background story, it makes sense to be the first relationship with the heroine to be established. With that said, I was pretty impressed with how the guys acted. They are indeed mature, showing how many years they have been living from such wisdom they exude. (Side note: I just don’t understand it when there are other books also presenting ‘mature and wise beyond years’ heroes…but action-wise were questionable. At least, these heroes did live their years wisely.)
The pacing of the story seems pretty good enough imo. Just really had a hard time reading about the heroine herself. What with all her weaknesses and insecurities laid out in the first book. I definitely would like to see what’s next for Gray and her guys.

This is a great start to the series. There is magic, romance, action, intrigue, and steaminess. I really liked Gray. She has been through a lot and she is confident in herself, but is still open to others. I like how the guys support her and how unique each of them are. I can’t wait to see more in this series.
