At the start he had never lied about how things would be, but with the help of friends they fool everyone. … Unfortunately for Leah someone doesn’t want her to ever come out of the shadows.
Leah soon realises she isn’t just fighting for love, she’s fighting for much more than that – her life.

Stand up for what you believe in and fight fir what you want if you believe it is worth it. The antics that were done by a bitter sibling with issues is so scary to have to go through but at least it was all ok after all. The HEA is sweet.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the first book that I have read from Kat Green and apparently it was an early one. Though I liked the idea of the story it felt like it was an early effort from the writer and I thought that it needed something more to make it a better story.
Maybe more detail about how Leah and Robbie met, it seemed a bit rushed, and how did they develop such a a strong relationship that Leah was willing to put up with all the chaos and not being recognized as his girlfriend.
The games that are played by public relations people to keep their clients in the limelight has been the subject of many other rock romance books that I have read, but the fake relationship between Robbie and Kasha seemed to go too far and had gone on too long to be believable. Also unbelievable was that Kasha would allow Gigi her agent to treat her so badly, was her career really worth all that abuse? why did she just not fire her.
Gigi comes across as so nasty and evil that she could have been the antagonist in the story but Ms Green chose to go a different way which I found a bit far-fetched.
Overall it is a quick and easy read if you like a rock romance with a bit of suspense and you don’t take it too seriously.

Girl at the back
by Kat Green
What it must be like to be in love with a person bigger than life in a world that is bigger than life its self only to be thrown into the back hidden from view why you watch the love of your life hang out with beautiful sexy woman as they try to take you place. The kicker being that no one knows about you only a few along with the rock star you call a boy friend. Setting alone only being his when the lime light isn’t shinning. I have very mixed feelings on this book, it has a great plot, an ok read, even a few likable characters. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around anyone agreeing to a life like this. This being the reason I had trouble relating to Leah, she seems so naive and child like at times. What I saw was a lovely girl who let people walk over her and take advantage of her good nature. To me Robbie got famous and let it go to his head, he puts his feelings before others and is very pushy. I just could not connect, I really felt sorry for Leah but as the old saying goes you made you bed….
The plot was good, the danger great, it is a story that does pull you in even if you can’t relate to the characters. I liked how it all came together and how Robbie grow up a little when it came to the danger Leah was in. The twists and turns were good and loved the ending. I thought the author did a good job but has a little more filler than I like. The plot is great but the author just couldn’t keep me hooked, I have a hard time buying that any woman who is going out with a star would put up with the way she was treated. It isn’t a story I would read again but I enjoyed it enough the first time and am glad I read it.

Girl at the Back by Kat Green is about the rock star live and how nothing is ever what it seems. This is a confusing love story of agents and promotions gone bad. Robbie is an up and coming rock star who has a girlfriend no one knows about while his fake girlfriend is in all the press. It is a story of lies, murder, jealousy and sadness. It seemed very rushed to me and I never connected with the characters. I cannot imagine being the girl at the back. Leah was not a very strong person and really allowed herself to be used
The Girl in the back
A story that could possibly be a true story. It was a very well written story, I really enjoyed the plot and the characters in the story. I would recommend for all reader’s t read.
Oh my gosh, I was so confused when “truths” started coming to light in this story. Leah and Robbie, her rock star boyfriend, just want to love each other, but his publicity team has other ideas, as do some other nefarious characters. I loved the mystery and suspense. I didn’t know what was going on until it was revealed.
I am giving it a 3.5. I loved the twist the book took at the end, really wasn’t expecting that and it was a great way to end it. I do understand and like the idea of a “secret” girlfriend and why it was done, I just found that I didn’t connect well with the characters (I didn’t fall in love with them and really didn’t find myself rooting for them). The story kind of dragged on for me, without much meat to it. I kind of felt like the author was just filling pages with a lot of the same concept just worded differently. I really wish there was more to the story itself. I also was disappointed with the main characters, I felt Leah was very whinny at times (she choose to be in this type of relationship and if she wasn’t happy then she should have gotten out of it) and Robbie was a pushover (yes he did have times where he stood up for himself and Leah but not as often as he should have). In saying all of that, I feel this author has more to offer (the potential is there in the twist and turns this book takes) and I am going to read more of her books in the future, as I would like to see if something she has connects with me.
Overall rating: 4.3
Well this book, honestly, it irked me bad! It upset me that the female lead allowed herself to be stepped all over. Yeah, the reasoning was there but really? So now you are wondering why I didn’t tear this book apart in the ratings? Because that’s what good books do. They give you those emotional roller coasters. This one truly made me want to smack the lead female and shout “ OMG wake up! “ as you can tell, the characters felt real and the storyline truly got me going. Well done!
I enjoyed this story but I guess I didn’t connect with the characters as well as I could have. Leah and Robbie are in a relationship but she stays behind the scenes and he is seen out with models to boost his rock star status. I just didn’t like how she was pushed to the back like that. However, it’s literally the title of the story. I liked the twists and turns of the story and I think it ended well and did enjoy it, I was just a bit disappointed but I don’t know the ins and outs of rock stars so it’s quite possible they have relationships just to boost heir careers.
The book was well written-especially the second half. However, there was something lacking-the character development was half hazard and the story just didn’t flow. The author presented the concept of the “behind the scenes-real girlfriend” Leah relating her story in an interesting, unique way It just was too shallow for me. I never got into Leah and rockstar Robbie’s romance or found myself “rooting for them”. I did love the twists at the end-finally some suspense! Still a good read especially for a young adult -the closing advice is golden.
This is a 3 1/2 star for me
Welcome to the world of rock and roll and the challenges of being a rock stars girl friend . When you are destined to stay in the shadows while he is out with a model that is to add to his rock star image . Well that is what is happening Leah and Robbie . Will they find their happiness after all the tragedy that is going on around them .
This was an ok read the characters were well written but I felt like I couldn’t relate to them . Leah seems to me like she is a bit naïve at times . She lets the people around her take advantage of her in some ways. She does grow up towards the end of the book . Robbie is sometimes to me just a little bit of a bully in some ways . He sometimes doesn’t take peoples feelings into consideration . He is the typical rock star . But you do get to see the real him when Leah is in danger . Finally realizing that he loves her and wants her . I truly liked the secondary characters in this book . Annie and the whole twist.
This was an ok read , there was a bit of awkwardness through out the story . The phrasing just seemed a bit off in some areas of the book .The book seemed a little rushed. But over all I did enjoy the book and the story line . The twists and turns in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat . The twist at the end was really good .
I really enjoyed this story full of love, lies and twisted secrets. I loved how unpredictable it was. The characters were fun to read and I enjoyed their forbidden romance.
