Uncertain Future
Let’s just say the second volume is Good As the First. We now have coral on land and she’s trying to adjust to the way the guys live. With introducing things to Coral for the first time and seeing how she reacts to her eyes it’s been interesting.
Author has put in some twists and turns to keep the story interesting and I would say so far I’ll keep reading because I have enjoyed this book. If you not pick that the first book I would suggest you do so that you can enjoy the second book.
Oh wow!! Mermaid’s Journey is book 2 in The Siren Series!! And it was ahhmmmaaazziiinggg!! I was hooked on the first book, but this book brings so much more!! I could not put it down!! I can’t wait to read the next installment!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Coral and her men decide to go treasure hunting. With her mermaid abilities, Coral is perfect for the job. Unfortunately, trouble finds her. First with a cut from the coral, with the shark following the blood trail, then with kidnappers who have seen her in mermaid form. Full of action, with a great plot and characters. I can’t wait for book 3!! I received a complimentary copy and freely give my honest review.
Kellie McAllen has done it again with the five star amazing continuation of the Siren Series. I have totally fallen in love with Coral, Gio, Liam, Jude and Avery.
This book tells the story of Coral and her adjustment to living on the land. From learning how to use silverware, apply make-up, shop….basically how to fit in a world she knows nothing about. The reality of how the relationship they all desire will work is also a big part of the storyline.
The plot twist at the end blew me away. I can’t wait to read The Mermaid’s Return which is the next book in this fabulous series. Which by the way is a series that I highly recommend.
“I received an ARC from the author. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. This is my honest review.”
The Mermaid’s Journey – Book 2 of the Siren Series, by Kellie McAllen
You can try starting with this book, but you’ll be missing all the back story from Book 1, The Mermaid’s Escape. There is a mini cliffhanger as the end leads into Book 3.
I said in my review for Book 1, that the relationship between Coral and her guys was tastefully written. The love scenes are light, not overly described/done and fit into the storyline. Laugh, cry and cheer Coral on as she learns how to do things on land.
The characters and story are well-written and interesting. There’s some action packed, seat of your pants, what’s going to happen next moments towards the end, along with something that will change Coral’s thoughts at the end … which is the lead into Book 3. Most of the story is Coral and the guys trying to fit into each other’s lives now that everyone is back on dry land. I enjoyed and felt Coral’s frustration as she tries to learn how to function and fit-in on land and how things are changing for her, now that the five of them aren’t really living together anymore. And then what lays ahead in Book 3.
I’m still enjoying the story that is quite different from anything I’ve ever read. I wasn’t sure in both books how the reverse harm theme would be, but in the end, it didn’t really bother me.
Cute addition- a little slow compared to the first in the series. Gives you a little more insight into all of the men’s lives. And the struggle with Coral adapting to her new world. The end was also the climax, leaving you craving the next book. I’m excited to see what happens next.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
Captivating, Unique Plot with Interesting Characters
What a great second book in this series. Coral, a mermaid turned human, was living with four shipwrecked treasure hunters on a deserted island until they are “rescued” in book 1. This book starts with the 5 of them in the hospital as Geo recovers from an appendectomy. Coral’s life in the suburbs is like a 5-year-old learning how to do new things. She has the ability to read other people’s thoughts, which helps her immensely. But, how can she survive when she doesn’t know how to shop, cook, use money, or even shower and use a toilet? The guys are still ok with sharing her affection as they teach her how to be a human on dry land. However, the four guys all have different plans for their future. How will Coral fit in?
This book is awesome in describing Coral’s struggles with living in a suburb as a human. Her desire to stay with all four guys is palpable. Kellie does a great job of keeping the four guys very distinct and her writing allows us to understand how Coral feels about each one of them. At the end of this book, Coral has a big decision to make, which makes me want to start book 3 immediately. The story (plot) is captivating and the characters are very realistic and well described. If (and when) this series is sold as a box set, but it as a set! You won’t want to stop reading this series after each book ends!
The Mermaids Journey by Kellie McAllen a five-star read that will make you want to run away to the ocean. This is the second story in the Sirens series, and I’m so pleased this series goes from strength to strength. Kellie McAllen has written five main characters that each enthral you with their own uniqueness, but she doesn’t stop there, she brings in more characters and situations that keep you hooked, just when you think that you know where the story is going, boom something new pops up and you are left with questions that mean I have to wait for the next book in the series to find out what will happen next. Normally I’m a little angry when I’m left with questions, but this author does it in a way that gives with one hand and takes with the other, leaving you feeling emotionally wrought but will a full heart. If you are looking for a great read about mermaids in a different light, then this is the read for you. In this story we watch as Coral finds her legs, getting to know the pains and pitfalls of life with four men as well as all the good bits, it shows us a real story not the glossy version we seem to get so often recently. Thank you Kelly McAllen for once again producing a passionate and thrilling read.
When Coral escapes from the men who took her, she found the truth about so many things. As she decides she needs to set some things to right, she is torn between being in the sea and being on land. Her men are not going to let her go easily and now that they know where she is, they will get her back. And just when they get her back, she has to go back to the ocean. Will she ever return to them?
