Love was no longer on the menu for Camilla Augustina. After her fiancé calls off the wedding not once but twice, Camilla’s had enough. In a brazen move, she takes a new position in the windy city of Chicago, leaving her parents, friends, and ex in a bittersweet goodbye. Adapting to her new surroundings isn’t easy, but as Camilla settles in a chance encounter with an infamous playboy throws her … off balance and rattles her world. She hadn’t expected to be drawn so meticulously to another, but denying the magnetism that lures her is a futile fight.
As President of VFC Energy, a Fortune 500 company, Hunter Valentine is at the top of his game. However, when Hunter spots Camilla Augustina, dining alone at the breakfast hut in his building, he can’t explain the adulation that runs through his core and shakes his entire world. Lust never weakened him like this, and the inclination of love, at first sight, was silly. But when Hunter decides to prove the sudden rapture is unreal, he may find himself enamored by love.

4.5 Stars A brand new to me author and what a start! This really was a fun, cute, pretty low angst, spicy read about a CEO of an energy company and a new TV reporter. Their connection was instant even if their relationship is a bit of a slower burn. This was a whole lot of fun and a lot of threads are put down for future books in this series. Which I will be picking up. For sure.
This is the 1st book I read by Stephanie Nicole Norris. I liked Camilla’s character. I liked Hunter’s character. With that said I stopped reading this story at chapter 8 because it took too long for the chemistry & passion to happen between Camilla & Hunter.
Well I could be nitpicky about a few things in this are but I am choosing to ignore them. First, as they did not take away my enjoyment the story. Second, I was so caught up in the characters and the inconsistent matters didn’t affect the overall story.
Hunter is a man most women would like to meet. Heaven help he has five other man similar to him that is icing on the cake.
I loved this story! The writing is great!I love the characters!.I had to read all 7 books! The Valentine men are unique!
I loved this book, It started out great from the first page.
My goodness, Hunter…it definitely takes a strong woman to not be overwhelmed by all the charisma this man has, it leaps off the cover and more importantly right off the pages. I love his determination, patience, the way he’s in touch with his instant connection to her and not prideful but upfront about it with her. Camilla deserves a good man. I loved every minute of the time I spent reading about their romantic and sensual love story. I can’t wait to read the next one.
First of all let me say I judge a book by its cover, I bought this book from this author solely because Travis Cure was on the cover, I have been hearing great things about this series so my book club chose it for our Aug book of the month. I decided to listen to the audio, I love the voices that read the story it pulled me right in and had me engaged. They always say a man will not settle down until he finds the right women and Hunter definitely found the right one for him which was Camille, this man went above and beyond for this woman. I hope get more glimpses of them in the other brothers story. This was a great start to the series and a greT first book by this author for me.
This book was ok. It was pretty fast paced, so it held my interest.
Hunter and Camilla had a SERIOUS case of instalove. Sometimes that distracts from the story, but I decided to go with the flow.
There were a couple of things that bothered me. For example, she never questioned him about the scene outside of his apartment. Especially after their relationship developed into something more serious. Camilla knew all about his playboy ways, but neglected to mention she had been in a relationship for YEARS, until her ex showed up. Not two or three, but over ten years. The whole “ex” situation was played out and remedied entirely too quickly. Then throw in the hurricane. Not really sure why it was necessary. Next, was the surprise. How long has they known each other? Last, but not least, was some of the sexual terminology. It was downright ridiculous. “Wet cocoon…furthest reaches of her cove..”, really? Are we serious here? I guess I should say that I thought it was ridiculous. Others may have an appreciation for that type of thing.
Ok. I guess that was more than a couple of things. In all honesty, I could have added a few more.
In spite of all the points listed above, this was not a difficult read. It was a sweet, sexy romance, that proved to be entertaining. I will more than likely read the next couple of books, just to see if the Valentine brothers, Xavier and Lance end up with Camilla’s friends, Corrine and Allison.
I read this book via Kindle Unlimited.
