945 Cedar Avenue, Book 4 in the Jessie Hayes Series by National Award Winning Author KC Decker:A wedding engagement is a joyous occasion, right? Well, I suppose that depends on your perspective. If you happen to be on the side of the path that branches to the left, when the love of your life chooses to go right, you may have a different opinion. So, what do you do when someone else’s choice … choice annihilates the future you had counted on? The answer to that may depend on your membership status at a certain sex club, namely 1462 South Broadway.
Here’s the thing, I’ve been in love with Jessie Hayes for so long now, I can hardly remember what it’s like not to pine over her. The fact that she is unavailable is only a minor setback because I know how she feels, and I know she is torn between Silas and me. However, I will never accept the divided attention of a woman, I deserve better than that. I never want to have to convince her I am the better catch. If she never comes to that on her own, I can accept that what I can’t accept is dishonoring myself by trying to push her into choosing me. So, I’ll play it cool for now and take no part in their breakup, because I never want to question if my girl is thinking about another man, and if Jessie doesn’t end things with Silas all on her own, I would always wonder.
Being on one side of Jessie’s branching path is fine, right? Well, as it turns out, I suppose that depends on your perspective.

K.C. gets inside the mind of a man and completely relates the story from his perspective. I’ve never read it done so well before. From the club scene and casual sex, you will wish you were one of his conquests. K.C. is that good at putting the reader right in Salinger’s thoughts while keeping the reader right in the action as well.
Salinger is a sexy, flawed character, but K.C. made him empathetic to women, too. He’s not a beast, but he is insatiable, once his motor starts to rev. K.C.wrote one of the best intimate scenes I’ve ever read. Salinger had taken a hiatus from the club while he got to know Avery. He called it a detox. When they finally got together in that special way, the steam rose out of the vents of my Kindle! I was right there with them, if you know what I mean.
945 is the icing on the cake for K.C.’s sexy “Jessie Hayes,” erotic romance series. It couldn’t have been done better! And to think, K.C. claims this series as the beginning of her published writing career. I can’t hardly wait to get into another of her novels. Good thing I bought Little Dove awhile back. Yeah!
I just binge read through the first four Jessie Hays books and I’m still having hot flashes. Woah Nelly is this ever hot. Not a book I’d give to any impressionable girl but for me? Scrumptious. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. These books definitely deserve it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that this series of books is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend
I’ve been waiting for Salinger’s story, and I’m so glad it finally arrived! At the start of 945 Cedar, he’s come to the realization, once he sees a fat ring on Jessie’s finger, that he needs to get over her, that she’ll never be anything other than his friend and coworker. So he tries various things to move on, including a lot of things you can probably imagine, considering the locale of this series, but nothing works, he still feels empty and insecure. Then he meets her – Avery. Has he finally met the woman for him?
I have to say that Salinger has always intrigued me even in the previous stories that focused on Silas and Jessie. He’s very complex and complicated, with a heartbreaking backstory. Honestly, I’m glad he wasn’t paired with Jessie because he wasn’t right for her, in fact, he was too good for her. Avery, though, is perfect for him. I’m so glad I got read Salinger’s story, that he got the happiness and love he’s always deserved. If you’ve been intrigued by Salinger as much as I have throughout this series, or even if you just want to continue to hear more about Jessie and Silas, then I highly recommend you 1-click today. You won’t regret it because 945 Cedar is seriously sexy, substantial and Salinger is just about one of the best alphas with a heart that I’ve ever read.
No bucket of Ben & Jerry’s for this guy…
—>>> This installment is all told from the point of view of Salinger, and we do have followup with what Jessie is going through in her quest for her ultimate HEA, but it definitely means pushing Salinger out of it. We see him hitting emotions of heartbreak and despair as every final and last nursed hope of being more than just a coworker to Jessie Hayes is dashed due to her becoming engaged to Silas. To deal with it all, Salinger willingly dives deep into activities at the club to take his mind off heart, ticking off his sexual bucket list, and maybe losing sight of the man he used to be with the thrill of being wanted for a change. When he meets another of Jessie’s friends, Avery, he soon realizes that she is a woman who deserves much more than he could offer at the moment, due to his heart’s still-fragile state. He may feel alone but he does have Devin and Corey in his corner.
I admittedly have been rooting for Salinger throughout this series, and it is great writing switch being in his head and to read how he works his way through his Jessie problem until it becomes an Avery-Salinger issue. Thrilled that he has found this delicious flight nurse, who appreciates how he treats her and keeps it real for him.
I really hope there are some stories to be had soon about some of the club characters we’ve met, as I love this series and the motley crew of people that are now their own family.
Through out the other books, I was not a huge fan of Salinger’s. He was a little too moony and stalky towards Jessie and she was little too teasing towards him. I wasn’t sure how I would like this book, but I am a huge fan of Salinger’s now!! Yes, he fell off the rails when Jessie became engaged to Silas and became a manwhore at 1462, but he knows it’s empty and really not fulfilling long term. And besides his military history, learning more about his past really put a lot of his behavior in perspective. I loved Avery, maybe more than Jessie. She’s tough, passionate, smart, and really perceptive. Salinger and her have amazing chemistry. This is my favorite of all 4 books!! I would really like to have a 5th book to wrap up all the loose ends and see how everyone settles in to the HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy from Hidden Gems.
Great continuing story.
There is so much going on in this book that you won’t want to put it down.
There are a lot of heat and a lot of things going on that it feels more real than anything.
This story focuses more on Salinger and less of Jessie and Silas.
The book does end on a bit of a cliff hanger.
Can’t wait for the next one

So much more than a romance, scorching hot
945 Cedar Avenue by KC Decker is confirmation of a wonderful writer providing her readers with an interesting, engaging, emotionally deep story while keeping the steam factor set on spontaneous combustion. As the first three books, this one is also downright explosive. So. Hot!
I am loving the path this book took, giving readers Salinger’s perspective of the series in very brief synopsis and delving into his life presently. He is a revelation! Complicated with emotional depth and self aware, but also sweet, suave, charming, flirty, respectful yet adventurous and funny. And the introduction of Avery was full of humor, she is a lady to be reckoned with! These two are meant to be, the connection and chemistry are palpable. The slow build up of the plot is intentional and allows for a beautiful relationship to blossom, grow and explode is magnificently adventurous and naughty ways while at the same time showcases tenderness and love.
Overall, an exceptionally well written book that is an amazing and fitting end to this brilliant and captivating series.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
Will Salinger move on in life?
This is my 4th book by the author and in this series. This story is about Salinger’s struggles with Jessie being with Silas. When his friends try to match him with Avery, he tries to push her away. But will Avery win Salinger over? You have to read to find out and will not want to put the book down until the end.
KC Decker, 945 Cedar Avenue. (Jessie Hayes, book 4).
As an ARC reader I received this book for free. And promised an honest review. Here it is. English isn’t my first language. Sorry for errors.
Rating: 4,5 stars (of 5).
In general: Well written erotical second chance novel.
Main characters:
– Jessie Hayes.
She works for an oil and gas company negotiating mineral rights. In book 1 and 2 (1462 S. Broadway and 720 Linden Street) she’s introduced in the BDSM scene by her lover Silas. In book 3 (1700 Grant Street)Jessie and Silas come to a happy ending.
– Silas.
Realtor and owner of an exclusive BDSM club: ‘1462 South Broadway’. Has a lovely daughter, Ruby, abondoned by her mother after a short love affair with Silas.
– Salinger.
Living at 945 Cedar Avenue. Good looking colleague of Jessie and trusted friend. Divorced ex soldier with shocking experiences from his Afghanistan tours. Has a crush on Jessie but she’s loyal to Silas.
– Avery.
A flight nurse and an old friend of Jessie. Left Seattle to settle in New York after a break-up with her fiancé.
In this book, (no. 4 in the Jessie Hayes series), we learn how Salinger overcomes his definite loss of Jessie. When he learns that she’s engaged to Silas, Salinger is devastated. A difficult situation: At work they’re busy with the same projects. And he’s very disappointed in Jessie (who gave for a time mixed signals), but both want to keep their friendship. Salinger’s first reaction is: more activities in the BDSM club ‘1462’. And that results in some very interesting sex scenes. But in the long run Salinger realizes that unpersonal BDSM sex, without much commitment, isn’t what he really wants.
At that moment Avery appears in his live. (In a very original, somewhat comical way).
The author KC Decker describes how Avery and Salinger find love without losing their friends while overcoming bad experiences from their pasts. KC Decker is a good story teller who creates more than hot sex scenes. So Avery’s and Salingers activities in paintball, racquetball, Avery’s experiences as a nurse, a naughty cards play, a cabin in the snow and so on resulted for me – again – in a very nice reading experience.

Fabulous erotic romance book! I absolutely loved this book, from the storyline, to the characters and to some of the best sensual erotic sex scenes I’ve ever read. I’ve always had a soft spot for Salinger and was always rooting for him since the beginning. At one point a little disappointed his love life wasn’t where I would have like it to be but in the end I’m glad it turned out this way. I really like Avery’s character and what she brought to this book.
This book and this series was beautifully written. I would highly recommend it. I enjoy reading erotica but I enjoy it even more when there’s a great story and a beautiful love story which this series delivers in spades!! I would give this series more than 5 stars if I could and i will definitely be reading more more from this author.
I can’t believe this is the fourth and final book in the Jessie Hayes series. When I got to the end of 945 Cedar Avenue I wanted to cry (figuratively). I did not want the story to end. I wanted more, more and more. But I was glad book four concentrated on the man candy gorgeous Salinger Davis. You need to start with book one, 1462 South Broadway, to get a clear picture of who Salinger is in regard to Jessie’s life. Salinger is a humorous and witty man as well as charming and good looking. Salinger’s character comes to life in this book. We finally get a look into the soulful world of Salinger. In this story Salinger finds out Jessie is engaged to Silas and he is devastated. He loves Jessie and has always wished she was his. The break in his reality is such that he has to do something to channel the deep dark pain the engagement has caused. At Jessie and Silas’s engagement party, Salinger is approached by a beautiful woman named Avery. Salinger gets a mind-boggling BJ from her and then she walks away. In the meantime, Salinger decides to fill his nights with sex at the club. He has a couple of women he has repeat hookups with. He starts to experiment with group sex which includes a guy and a sundry of other things. But when Devin and Corey encourage Avery and Salinger get together, Salinger backs off from Avery. Devin does not understand why. So, Salinger explains that he has been a manwhore using the club as his venue and needs time for a c#ck cleanse. I had to laugh from time to time at the witty remarks Salinger made. Anyway, as luck would have it, Salinger does spend more time with Avery w/o the sex. There is sexual tension between them. Devin told Avery about Salinger’s extra-curricular activities. So, she tells Salinger that while he is on his cleanse, they can hang out together. They go on a double date with Devin and Corey. They play racket ball together. Eventually Avery starts to open up to Salinger. He realizes that he wants to open up to her too. They both find it difficult but they persevere. Salinger starts to realize that what he felt for Jessie was nothing like what he feels for Avery. He realizes the difference and knows Avery is the missing piece of his soul. This is such an emotional read. There are times I just had to chuckle at the witty remarks Salinger makes. I loved reading this book and I highly recommend it. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
SALINGER!
I’ll admit Salinger is kryptonite! I’ve loved him since the beginning of the Jessie Hayes series. He’s great, maybe not for Jessie, but he’s GREAT for me! HA
Salinger finally realized that Jessie is with Silas and that he’s not going to play second fiddle. He needs to move on and make his own way in life. Sure, Jessie will always be his friend, but nothing more. As much as this breaks his heart, he knows he needs to find his own happiness. To clear his head of all things Jessie he dives into the club, sleeping around, checking things off his sex bucket list. It’s only when he meets Avery does he realize that there can be a happily ever after for him if he plays his cards right.
Avery is running from her own ghosts. A fresh start in a new city, with some new and old friends, is just what she needs. Then she meets Salinger. A man who could destroy her or sweep her off her feet. She has to play her cards right because she knows he is hurting too. Avery knows a good thing when she see’s one and isn’t afraid to be the pursuer in the relationship. What if he doesn’t want her? Baby steps bring them closer, but is it enough for both of them? Can they forge a new path together or will their ghosts keep returning to haunt them?
This book really opens Salinger up. You get to learn more about his past and how he views things in the current. He is a careful and skilled lover, as well as a compassionate man who will take care of his lady any way she needs. You can’t help but be drawn to him. He is an alpha in his own right, but knows when to back down and not push things further. MEN take note!!
How can you get over what Jessie did at the party on stage. He knew the stage and the time at the toy stage was because of him. When he saw her ring he lost his breath and felt like his heart would break. But he will persevere and find some one. He finally realized Jessie has who she has and he has shown his worth. Jessie will have Devin and Corey’s little girl.
