Cocky racing driver Tyler Joseph is sidelined after one risk too many. After being at the center of a fiery crash, he’s forced to rest and recover at his best friend’s farmhouse or he’ll miss the rest of the season. Tyler does what he wants, though, and what he wants right now is the hot, sexy little physical therapist whose hands only touch him where it hurts.Alec Lands is a sucker for a pretty … for a pretty face, and Tyler’s too much temptation to bear. He’s promised himself he’ll stop dating trouble, but Tyler is flirty, dirty, and stubborn as hell. He can’t resist, even though it could end both their careers.
What was supposed to be a one-time thing leads to more. They can’t stop. No matter how hard they try, they can’t shake this chemistry that pulls them together, and the longer it goes, the worse the consequences of discovery. Tyler’s career and Alec’s family are as homophobic as each other, and every risk they take could end them forever… but Alec wants to keep up with Tyler’s fast-paced life, and Tyler is tired of leaving men in the dust. Can they both resist hitting the brakes on their maybe-forever when it turns out that old habits die hard?
Clutch is a standalone gay romance novel with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger. Book #6, Tremble, will be available in May 2018!

I know very little about racing, but this story of an injured driver and the physical therapist grabbed me from the first and never let go. Both the main characters have reasons to keep the fact that they are gay secret, but their chemistry is off the charts and they decide to take the risk. As always with an E. Davies book he uses the hurt/comfort trope expertly and the HEA is so worth all the bumps in the road taken to get there. Greg Boudreaux gives his usual, flawless performance here. We feel the characters’ physical and emotional pain because we can hear it in his voice. We also feel the healing begin as the realize their relationship can be forever. Great author, great story, great performance.
Audiobook review:

Another great story in this series.
I love Greg Boudreaux’s audio performances. He does great character voices and always uses the perfect cadence and vocal inflections when he performs an audiobook. He’s done an outstanding job with this series so far.
Clutch was an exciting story to read; Tyler and Alec had wonderful chemistry together. I also enjoyed visiting with the other “Significant Brothers.” I’m looking forward to listening to the next book in this series.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
I read this book last year, but just listened in audio
Love this series and this book is just as good as the others. Each book can be read independently but it’s also good to read in order as the brothers are always mentioned.
Tyler who’s a gay race driver but not out in the racing scene, meets Alec who’s family are anti gay.
Can they make it work regardless of what the world thinks of them.
Again Ed writes a wonderful book with a HEA.
Greg does an excellent job narrating this book, as he did with the others.
This is a lovely book, as is the whole significant brothers series, they are so much fun.

I’ve been watching for Tyler’s book for a while now. He has interested me from his introduction. A bit of arrogance and a smirk has been his default. Getting to know the real Tyler as he worked out how to navigate a real relationship with Alec along with how to come out to the public. I liked the changes in Alec as he goes from bouncing from one closeted jerk to another and finding the real deal in Tyler. I liked how these two worked to accommodate the demands of their jobs. There is a bit of intrigue that adds a nice layer to the story.
Highly recommended author and series
Audiobook: Fantastic narrator
Continuation of this great story about 6 high school friends all finding their soul mate. This book was about race car driver Tyler, who meets personal trainer Alec after a major smash on the race track. The two work out a way to be together and love each other. Great updates from all the other characters.
The fifth book in the Significant Brothers series, Clutch is all about Tyler’s high-paced life as a racecar driver—until a crash sidelines him and sends him right in the arms of Alec, the physical therapist responsible for healing him. The chemistry between Tyler and Alec is instant and intense, and Tyler does not shy away from it. However, becoming a couple with Alec will require Tyler to come out to the public, and Tyler will have to see if the racing world can handle it. Alec has his own doubts. He’s not exactly out either, especially in his professional life. But together, both men will have to decide if love is worth the potential professional costs. Hint: it totally is.
I love this whole series. It is so nice to find well defined male characters with heart.
I haven’t met a book by Ed Davies that I didn’t love. Truism. This series is especially endearing because all of the main characters are interesting and lovable. This holds true with Tyler, a race car driver, and Alec, a physiotherapist. Tyler is out to his closest friends and race team but coming out, really coming out, would likely be the death of his sponsorships and therefore his career. Racing in the South is not known for inclusiveness. He did have a gay-friendly sponsor previously, but the current sponsor didn’t appear to fly the rainbow flag, so to speak. When Tyler is involved in a spectacular collision, that could have killed him, he was in hopes to rehab and quickly return to the race. The estimated time of return was 8 weeks and Tyler thought ‘not only NO but Hell No’. He would lose points with every missed race and could lose his sponsorship, his car, and his team. When he was referred to physiotherapist Alec, his gaydar rang loudly.
Alex, unfortunately, was even more in the closet than Tyler. As a physiotherapist to professional athletes, in the South, he was reasonably concerned about the effect on his career if he was outed. Alex was lonely and really had nothing outside of his career. There was immediate mutual attraction and sizzle. Unfortunately, ethically, Alec can’t be involved with a patient and Tyler has never dated, been involved in a relationship although, Alec may be the one.
In this story, you will find a tablespoon of SUSPENSE, more than a dash of camaraderie and brotherhood mixed very carefully with the connection, intimate moments, some sensual and some downright ‘smoking’ to add just the right flavor!
This is another auto-buy, another sure thing from this accomplished author providing consistently pleasurable stories.
