This love story is a stand-alone book. This is a must read story about Cole and Lori. I love how this story has engulfed me in it. Lori is just trying to get her life back after her mom was sick. Cole is a lawyer, that is not really looking for anything. But when Lori runs in to him, they both think one night is all they will need. But then life throws them back together.
Once again, Lisa did not disappoint! This is truly a stand alone. I did not read the first book in the series and was not lost at all! I loved how there was an immediate spark between Cole and Lori. Even as much as both tried to deny it, it never seemed to disappear! The passion these two have is hot!! I like how Lisa always seems to add characters from her other series into new series. Feels more personal and like a big happy family! For a quick, sexy read I recommend this book!
I received this book as an ARC reader, but I give my honest opinion.
As book 2 the story only gets better. It’s Lori and Cole’s story with a connection to book 1 One Night Stand. Cole being an attorney and Lori not far from that world, they meet, they walk away, they meet for one night….. no cliffhangers here. A Must Read!!!
~WRITING – PLOT – PACE~
Honestly, I have been in a bit of a “blah” mood with books lately. Maybe not blah, but I seem to be extra picky lately and I am finding that the littlest of things have been annoying me. So I wasn’t all that gung-ho to read this one. Especially not with the whole “ONS…heroine runs…they meet up again months later” setup. That usually means one or both end up having sex with other people in the interim. But…SURPRISE…I ended up enjoying this one quite a lot.
It was well written. The pace was OK. One of my issues was that I found the beginning a little slow. It felt like the whole ONS thing (and the aftermath) was dragged out a bit too long when all I wanted was to get to the reunited part of the book. It literally takes 30% of the book to get to that point. I felt like the author could have condensed that 30% a bit and had these two back together sooner. That said, the plot was still engaging enough (especially after the 30% mark) that I never felt the need to skim. I wouldn’t say this one had as much suspense as the previous book. There is some court case stuff, but this couple’s “relationship” is more the focus. Last, it was all wrapped up in an OK happy for now ending.
~HERO~
COLE…Cole I LOVED. He was really the star of this book. He was hot. He was alpha. He wasn’t a manwhore. He was sweet. He was an excellent lawyer. He had the patience of a saint with Lori <-- quite frankly I would have dropped kicked her a$$ five minutes after meeting her. He was great hero material. ~HEROINE~ LORI...Lori was the second issue I had with this one. I just didn't like her...AT ALL. I am starting to see a pattern when it comes to this author's books and heroines, mostly, I never love them. Again we have an annoying heroine that would rather cut her nose off to spite her face instead of accepting help. She was judgy towards Cole because he had money. I mean the whole not wanting him to see her apartment was so juvenile. She was quick to jump to conclusions about OW. I really don't have anything positive to say about her. She had a shitty attitude that continued for 90% of the book. ~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~ This one had a few excellent secondary characters. Cat and Reese are in it a bit. Some of the Walker brothers, and a few new faces. All of them added some good extra depth to the story. ~HEAT LEVEL~ Lowish. surprisingly, I didn't find this one all that spicy. There were (maybe) three or four sex scenes that were suitably hot. Not much in the way of kink, which surprised me after the spanking during the ONS. ~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~ Medium. Most of the angst came from the heroine and her annoying attitude and need to push the hero away. Neither were virgins. Neither slept with other people during their separation. There wasn't really any OW or OM drama per se. There was a little scene with her ex and the heroine sees a woman approach the hero at a bar and sit down next to him. Of course, she thinks the worst (roll eyes). Same for later in the book when she AGAIN jumps to conclusions. Lord this heroine annoyed me (lol). ~IN THE END~ I enjoyed it for the most part. I really do enjoy this author's writing and her heroes. Her heroines...not so much. Hence why this is rated 4-Stars and not higher. I also thought the beginning was stretched out a bit too much. Both main characters spend a lot of time apart during it and I just felt like the author could have tightened up the plot a bit. That said, a lot of people will love this one (as they should). It will be "safe" for the uber picky peeps (to which I seem to be lately). Therefore yours truly is going to give this one two thumbs up.
Dirty Rich Cinderella Story by Lisa Renee Jones this is book Two in the Dirty Rich series. This is the story of Cole Brooks and Lori Havens. I have read the previous book (and loved it) but feel this can be a standalone book.
Lori father died, her mother had a stroke so she had to drop out of Law School to help with her mother and find jobs that helps pay the bills for them. Lori happens to meet Cole who have a instant attraction to and they act on it but Lori ups an leaves the next morning knowing that he is out of her money status. But when later when things are going better with her mother’s health she takes a intern job that leads her right to Cole again.
Really enjoyed their story…a hard book to put down for sure!
4.5 Stars
Lori quit law school only months from being a lawyer to go back home to take care of her mom after her stroke. Now Mom is ok and even back at work, and Lori is still not back at school. They have too many hospital bills to pay. She’s working for the previous books’ heroine Cat and at a coffee shop and as a clerk person in a law firm.
And then she meets him. A sexy stranger on the street. Cole.
Instant attraction and fascination.
A sexy dirtly little one-night stand might just be the thing she needs. She doesn’t have time for more. But Cole doesn’t give up. Once he’s back in New York, he vows to find her again.
And he does – but now things are really complicated …
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO LORI & COLE???
WILL THERE BE A HEA??
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT
Great Lawyer Romance!!!
Well, that was adorable!
A fun & exciting & interesting & really sexy lawyer romance!
There’s this huge insta attraction and intrigue for both of them, but of course Cole doesn’t – yet – live in NYC and Lori doesn’t have time for love. Or sex. BUT, she can’t forget him!
And then a few months later – he’s suddenly kind of her boss! Adorable.
But being her boss doesn’t stop Cole from pursuing her!
I really enjoyed reading it! We just know that they belong together – but Lori is a bit stubborn about money and independence, BUT we’ll get to our happily ever after … GREAT STORY!
Just like the first book, this one was a tiny bit too long for me. Things are described too much – too many redundant details I didn’t care about – or people are having way too long thoughts. A few pages less would’ve been better …. BUT I really liked all the characters and the story.
DIRTY RICH CINDERELLA STORY was a very adorable & exciting & sexy lawyer romance!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Cole – this one is MINE!!!
I received an ARC of “Dirty Rich Cinderella” written by author Lisa Renee Jones, in return for a fair and honest review.
Lisa Renee Jones has created a story so wonderfully written, that I found it hard to put down! She completely captured Lori “Cinderella” and Cole “Prince Charming” so incredibly well that this story seems to take off on its own!. She has made them multidimensional with feelings we can all identify with. Enjoy!!
As the “Dirty Rich” series continues, you will find the two main characters from book one, Cat and Reese, are part of this delightful story as well. Linda-Rose
Cole and Lori are great!
Lori is truly “Miss Independence”. She will do it in her own time and on her own. Relying on someone other than herself is a good trait but there’s more to it than that. Hers is based on the lack of trust. She WILL finish her law degree and take care of her mom and all of the debt from her father and it’s her job to do it.
Cole is honest and hard working and he fights for what he believes in. And when he meets, or rather, runs into, Lori on the street, he finds himself thinking of her. A lot. And when fate brings them together again (and it is Fate!), he begins to change. He wants her more. He thinks of her all the time. He needs her. He sees more for them than today. He keeps pushing because he’s head over heels. But for every step forward he takes, she’s taking two backwards.
He’s going to mess it up. But she may have already done that. Trust and acceptance. And love.
I loved Cole and Lori’s story. I loved the cases they worked on and Cat’s book and the ever-true support of Reese and Cat. Lori’s biggest mistake was in thinking of herself as Cinderella instead of the strong, fierce and resilient woman she really is.
It’s been a few years since I read Lisa Renee Jones books and to say I was excited is not enough of word to describe my feelings. Now I’m going to be honest and say even though I liked the story is missing that WOW factor that would incline me to give this 5*. I’ll try to explain as best as I can why I’m giving this a 4* rating…here goes:
The story itself was a good read. It has one strong and indented woman (Lori)who is pursued by a gorgeous and established man (Cole) with a heart of gold. »Ask me what comes next. What comes next? Everything. «
I could relate to Lori on so many levels it was scary. The main thing was her not wanting to except help or »charity« as she kept calling it. I think that maybe that was my biggest issue with this story. I loved how he gave her space even when everything in him was screaming NO. I loved that AHA moment when she realized that accepting help doesn’t make one weak but it makes them a team.
Now to the missing WOW factor; my first read by Lisa Renee Jones was her Inside out series and I kinda wanted this story to be a bit more angst or dark maybe like that series? I’m comparing the stories even though they are not alike. I’ll re-read this one once more after a month or two and maybe I’ll change my mind then but until than – 4 »I own you« stars!

ARC received for an honest review
I have not read the first Dirty Rich story (Dirty Rich One Night Stand) however this has not affected my understanding or enjoyment of Dirty Rich Cinderella Story at all.
Cole and Lori’s story is a modern day Cinderella, strangers passing in the night only to find each other again.
I love Lori’s strength, even if at times she takes the “strong, independent woman who needs nobody’s help” to extremes and I got frustrated with her. I could understand why she is how she is, however I just want her to take the helping hand being offered – no strings attached.
Cole is just all kinds of swoonworthy. From the first time our lover’s worlds collide I knew he was going to be become a favourite LRJ character.
Ms Jones has written some amazing series with 2 or 3 or more stories in them, however I am really liking her stand alones.
Strong characters, enjoyable story line, I read this book in one sitting. I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.
This book is so darn sexy! Cole is one very tall, sexy and dominate male. Lori is no pushover and is not afraid to push back at Cole. The two of them sets the pages on fire. I just loved this book. I received an advance review copy in exchange for an honest review.
Dirty Rich Cinderella Story is the second book in the ‘Dirty Rich’ series by Lisa Renee Jones. It’s a standalone but Cat and Reese from Dirty Rich One Night Stand feature in it quite a bit. It’s not necessary to have read their book first, but for some extra insight and just plain good old-fashioned reading you should.
Book two is Lori and Cole’s story. We heard about both Cole and Lori in the first book, so it was interesting to seeing them come to life.
Lori has had a hard few months. Her father died, leaving her and her mother with a huge debt to pay off. As if that weren’t hard enough, Lori’s mom, Evelyn, then became ill too. Lori is struggling to make ends meet, working several jobs, one of which is for Cat, when she meets Cole.
They bump into one another when Lori is rushing from Cat’s apartment and sparks immediately fly. Cole offers to take Lori for a coffee but she refuses, knowing this man is too much for her. She fobs him off and leaves, regretting her decision the very next second.
Later that night they met again and this time, Cole isn’t taking no for an answer and they have one hot as hell night together. But, it can only be that. One night. Lori isn’t what Cole thinks she is, or she isn’t… yet!
Leaving without an explanation, Lori tells herself it for the best, and keeps telling herself that. She just can’t get Cole out of her head, try as she might. He dominates her every thought, just like he dominated her that night. But, weeks later she fears she might need him after all, and has know idea how to go about finding him.
A few months later after Lori has recovered from that worry, fate plays a hand and brings them back together. Thanks to Cat, and her husband Reese, Lori has been awarded a full scholarship and the chance to return to her studies. With that, and a new job interning solely for Reese’s law firm, Lori feels like she can finally breathe. She has the ability to get her and her mom out of the dreary apartment they live in and to start afresh.
Happy and feeling carefree, she begins her new job only to find out that Cole is her boss. What will she do? What can she do?
Will Cole even remember her?
Cole does more than remember, he’s been searching for his elusive one night stand for months. Lori left a lasting impression on him and he didn’t want to let her go. Now that she’s back in his grasp, she’s not getting away without a fight.
Lori has a lot of trust issues, with men and how they perceive her, thanks to her father’s reckless lifestyle and the debts he left behind. She is wildly attracted to Cole, not just his looks, but his mind too. They both ‘get’ each other and this coupled with their undeniable and unflagging sexual chemistry makes the story pass in a blur.
There’s a lot of push and pull between these two, some miscommunication and Lori pushes Cole away, a lot. She’s a strong woman, with a fiercely independent nature and doesn’t want to rely on any man. Cole, is brooding, sexy and possessive. His dominant nature and desire to protect what’s his make him a little overbearing at times, but GOD, he was still hot as Hades in and out of the bedroom.
I loved every minute of this book, the story is fast-paced and will leave you breathless on more than one occasion. I whole-heartily recommend this book to new readers as well as old. A fantastic addition to the Dirty Rich series and well worth a read.
