It was supposed to be a fling…Confirmed bachelor and former pro football superstar, Max Sumner, knows the minute he sets eyes on Devlin Darby, he wants her in his bed. The fiery photographer is hot as hell, and Max has never been good at resisting temptation. What should have been a few nights between the sheets quickly turns into more. Slowly Devlin slips under his skin, making him reveal … skin, making him reveal secrets he’s managed to hide from everyone.
Devlin Darby never wanted to be trapped. She likes her life just the way it is—carefree, wild, and all her own. But after a few nights with the oh-so-sexy Max Sumner, her plans to keep things light are at risk.
When faced with the consequences of their time together, Devlin must make a choice—become trapped by a man she doesn’t love, or face this adventure alone on her own terms. An unplanned pregnancy doesn’t mean she has to tie herself down to Max for the rest of her life.
Unfortunately for her, when Max discovers her secret, he has other plans. There’s no way he’s letting her, or their baby go. And he’s not a man to be taken lightly when he sets his mind to something—or someone—he wants. She may be his strongest opponent, but she’ll be his biggest victory.
Thank You for Loving Me is the third book in the Canyon Creek, CO Series. It can be read as a standalone novel.

I loved returning to Canyon Creek for Maggie & Ben’s wedding & catching up with the Sumner family. The entire family is entertaining and I always look forward to their shenanigans.
I loved Max & Devlin’s story from beginning to end. Their witty banter kept me smiling, and I was pulling for them through their difficult times. This is a great series, and I can’t wait to read Aaron & Kayleigh’s story next.
I voluntarily read & reviewed a complimentary copy.
So far I have really enjoyed this series and I’m happy to say that Max and Devlin’s story is no exception! While the story of the Sumner family continues in each book, the authors do a great job of recounting the backstory enough so that you never feel lost if you haven’t read the previous books yet. In this book Max Sumner, professional football player, has returned home to help with the family’s financial situation. Now that his football career is over there is no place he’d rather be. When he meets Devlin Darby the attraction is strong and soon what was suppose to be a fun fling starts to feel like a whole lot more. At least to Max. Getting the free spirited nomadic Devlin to give them a chance may be the biggest challenge Max has ever had to face but it’s one he can’t afford to lose.
Put this on the must read list. I highly recommend it.
I love Max!!! He is sooooo funny with his comebacks!! Just a GREAT series!!
Max and Devlin
I am loving these Sumner boys . Max is our retired NFL player , he has a great head on his shoulders but was always seen as the jock. He is so much more . Devlin world known photographer traveling the globe using her camera as her eyes to capture life as it happens ..the only one she isn’t seeing is her own. Coming from a family that had a gunnery sergeant for a father has certainly made her steer clear of domineering men . She may give them more than one night but she is her own woman. Coming Canyon Creek to help with her best friends wedding was supposed to be easy but Max made it so hard. A fling with him started her wondering what a real commitment would be like and she did what she always does ….run to her next shoot . Neither can get the “fling” out of their head !
I loved their banter and watching them develop this “relationship ” when neither new what they really wanted or how it worked !!
Loving this series !!

Devlin had the perfect life – an apartment in New York City, great friends, a great job, travel. Her best friend is getting married & Devlin is part of the wedding party. The groom’s brother is hot & sexy. He’s not looking for anything long term. The perfect guy to have a fling with. Why couldn’t she forget him though? Why was her desire for him increasing instead of being sated? She didn’t want to move out West & she didn’t want anything permanent, did she? Then Devlin had a crisis that changed how she thought about everything.
Max was a retired football player with a secret. Everyone thought he retired due to his knees but that was only part of the story. Due to his past relationships, Max didn’t think anyone would be just interested in him, not his fame or money. He wasn’t even sure what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. He was enjoying his fling with Devlin though. Just because he thought of her all the time, it didn’t mean he was looking for anything serious. Then something happened that he over reacted to. Can he work his way back into Devlin’s good graces?
This was a funny, flirty, hot romance between two confirmed single people. It was fun to see the progression of their fling to a relationship without them knowing or acknowledging what was happening. Once you hear Devlin’s history, you understand her over reaction & insistence on staying single. Max just had an arrogant, self centered flash back but it happened to hit Devlin’s sore spot. The interactions between all of the characters were fun, witty & sarcastic. This story was a joy to read & a great collaboration between two authors.
This is an absolutely heart melting love story! In the third book of this series we go back to visit the Sumner family and get to know Max a little better. He is a former NFL player who was hurt and is now back home with the family, helping his mother get things together for their resort and Maggie and Ben’s wedding. Max is a bit lost in this story because he doesn’t know who he is without football. One thing he does know is he wants to have some fun with Devlin Darby a world class photographer and his soon to be sister-in-law, Maggie’s best friend. They start off with no strings attached and it slowly becomes something more than just a bunch of one-night stands. We also get to be a part of Maggie and Ben’s, (from book 1), wedding. The entire wedding scene was so moving and I loved every second and needed a lot of tissues.
I thought book 1 and 2 were really great stories but I absolutely loved book 3. Max and Devlin’s story was full of laughter, tears, heartache, and plenty of steam. The chemistry between these two was off the charts and they seemed to just mesh together really well. They got who the other was without question. I love the Sumner family with all their fun, laughter, strengths, closeness and the loyalty to their mother and each other is so moving. I love stories that are beautifully wrapped around families and the strength that comes from a strong, loving family and the Sumners are a great example of this. Ms. Ryan and Ms. Manis have done a great job with Max and Devlin’s story. You will laugh out loud, you will need tissues and you will definitely root for these two to get their happy ever after.
I absolutely loved this story!! It’s heartfelt, funny, & steamy.
Max & Devlin are both very independent people.
They both have successful careers. Max, is an NFL player.
And, a player off the field. His knee was insured a second time.
Devlin , is a famous photographer, who travels the world taking
her pictures. Never committing to stay in one place too long.
That is, till Max & Devlin meet. Their connection is undeniable.
With Ben & Maggie’s upcoming wedding, Devlin has been flying
back, & forth to Canyon Creek, & work. The more time they spend
together, the closer Max & Devlin have become.
It is a well-written book with memorable, & relatable characters
that just unfolded beautifully.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR EVERYONE TO READ!!!
I read book 2 of this series, and absolutely loved it. When given the opportunity to read book 3, I did not hesitate to take it.
The series centers around the Sumner family. A family that after the death of their father, ha pulled together to keep his dream and the resort operating. The brothers, all professionals , dropped everything to help their mother. A woman made of steel and with a great deal of love for her “boys”.
This story belongs to Max Sumner and Devlin Darby. Max, a former NFL player and Devlin, a well known photographer, met in book 1 during a karaoke night. After a night of passion , she leaves to her next assignment, returning in time for her best friend’s wedding . They meet again, and continue their affair, but each one is dealing with personal and professional issues. Max, still in pain due to his injuries throughout his career and not knowing what he will do with his life outside of football, and Devlin, getting tired of all the traveling, and still affected by the way her father treated her Mom and her Mom’s willing to stay married. Reminding us that the experiences we have as a child do in fact affect how we react and live our lives as adults. Life gets complicated and not everything goes as planned.
You will not only fall in love not only with these two strong, imperfect and wonderful characters, but also with the entire family and town. The matriarch, Violet, is a hoot.
Another great story by this dynamic duo. Can’t wait to read what else they have in store for us.
I was given this ARC copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
