The Cat’s Purrrr….
The magical town of Mystic Bay, Oregon has been around for a while, but the outside world doesn’t know that it’s full of Sensitives (fairies, sorcerers, small shifter prey) and Hunters (big predator shifter) and run by The Council. Although West Haven is full of artistic paranormal even some human tourists it is an unwritten law that sensitives and hunters don’t marry especially a sorceress & a cougar. Seems like Sully and Robin are up to their matchmaking schemes again. Are those old trees in the forest really magical beings?
Cougar shifter Ryan Rutherford is shocked and a little weary when grandpa Cougar One tells him he must marry with a girl he remembers from when he was a cub seems she has a 3 year old cub that must have been sired by one of his cousins. For shame, but he is the only single cougar and will have to in order to keep their very sentimental piece of land that is a cougars haven. Ryan is short on time, but when his cougar catches sight of the 3 year old boy he realizes that this is where he belongs for the time he has left, especially when the man sees his mother. She is this cougars queen
Claudia has a very strong talent, one no one knows about, but it did her no good the day she met Dominic Rutherford. The only good thing that came of that was her 3 year old Jimmy, but the town Council is afraid of what her hybrid sensitive might become and are want to make her leave her hometown. Can she put her trust in this other Rutherford that has come to solve her problem and is starting to steal her heart?
Ryan’s cougar is planning on laving her with love until she succumbs to his charms.
Have to admit this book was just as good as the first! I loved the story of Claudia and Ryan with Jimmy being the perfect touch! The ending was priceless with Ryan’s grandfather stepping in and the punishment Jimmy’s father got!
Dying to love
I am currently binge reading all books by Isadora Montrose in the Mystic Bay series and I’d like to say that I’ve not read a bad book yet.
The stories are somewhat whimsical they have funny characters I love the way you see certain characters in every book like Sully and Robin as they introduced the new leads in each story. In this book we have Claudia and Ryan taking center stage as we read about what’s going on in their lives. We have rambunctious Jimmy the unknown shifter Talent in the guise of a three-year-old little boy.
In this book you will get humor, anger, laughter and a sense of satisfaction.
The author gave great physical descriptions of the main characters Claudia, Ryan and Jimmy to the point that you could picture them in your mind especially little Jimmy and follow along with the story with those images in place. Not a lot of authors can do this well but Isadore has a neat hand with building a story that you can imagine in your mind of the places and people she describes.
Anyone who enjoys the idea of a place that all paranormals are welcome should enjoy this series.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book with no obligation to any author.
Quite a love story when it starts on a false premise. Torn between keeping her shifter-sorcerer son safe or being forced from the only place she feels safe to raise him, Claudia accepts Ryan’s offer. Ryan hopes to forge a bond with Claudia before the cobra venom kills him. Together they work to raise a three year old, pacify a nosey town and thwart those who would come between them.
** spoiler alert ** Ryan was bitten by a snake shifter and now doesn’t know how long he has left to live. Robin is trying to raise her son and move on with her life. The council doesn’t like the mixing of genes. Will Robin accept what Ryan is to be to her? Will Ryan be able to see his family grow?
I loved how, despite his time limit, Ryan was determined to help and do right by Robin any way that he could. I didn’t blame Robin for being unsure of what was going on after what happened to her previously, but love how she was determined to not let it hold her back. Great read!
