Gillian Flynn says, “Karin Slaughter is simply one of the best thriller writers working today.”
Saturday night dates at the skating rink have been a tradition in the small southern town of Heartsdale for as long as anyone can remember, but when a teenage quarrel explodes into a deadly shoot-out, Sara Linton — the town’s pediatrician and medical examiner — finds herself entangled in a terrible … terrible tragedy.
What seemed at first to be a horrific but individual catastrophe proves to have wider implications. The autopsy reveals evidence of long-term abuse, of ritualistic self-mutilation, but when Sara and police chief Jeffrey Tolliver start to investigate, they are frustrated at every turn.
The children surrounding the victim close ranks. The families turn their backs. Then a young girl is abducted, and it becomes clear that the first death is linked to an even more brutal crime, one far more shocking than anyone could have imagined. Meanwhile, detective Lena Adams, still recovering from her sister’s death and her own brutal attack, finds herself drawn to a young man who might hold the answers. But unless Lena, Sara, and Jeffrey can uncover the deadly secrets the children hide, it’s going to happen again…

Karin Slaughter is a master at twisted stories. I would never want to live in Grant County, the fictional backdrop for one of her series, as it seems that its residents have some of the worst luck or have a magnetic atttraction to some of the most horrible fates. Great read for those who want a little darker side of murder mysteries. You will …
Love this series must read
Note: The crimes involved in Kisscut are perpetrated against children. It’s not my intention to spoil the plot in any way but I know some readers have hard limits and it’s best you are aware up front.
Kisscut is the second installment in Karin Slaughter’s thriller series titled: Grant County. In my opinion, it’s just as good as her epic debut, …
Great interesting read.
Karin and Lisa Gardner are my favorite authors.
Yeah, did NOT see that ending coming. I’m totally hooked on this series xd
I think I’m starting to see a pattern here. Dr. Sara Linton and ex-husband police chief Jeffrey Tolliver can find trouble anywhere, even at the local small-town skating rink. An unbelievable tragedy occurs when one of Sara’s young teenage patients attempts to shoot another teen at the skating rink. This incident will bring horrific implications …
I love this author and the series . She always makes it thrill-packed and exciting.
Love Karin Slaughter’s books!
Kisscut is the second entry in Karin Slaughter’s Grant County series, and it is a gem. New depth is added to familiar characters, the action is taut, and the villains are villainous indeed, their actions disgusting and horrifying. The worst pat is the knowledge that people like that actually exist. My only complaint is that sometimes all of the …
Terrific in every way.
It’s been a couple years since I read this, a part of the Grant County series which then led into the Will Trent series. I’ve read them all, so it’s hard to recall details about any one, except that the characters grabbed me and never let go throughout the series.
Start with Blindsighted and read them in order. Don’t read the Will Trent series …
WOW
I read this book years ago and I have never forgotten it. It was when it first came out and I have followed this author since. I highly recommend anything written by her.
Karin Slaughter has become one of my most favorite authors. I only wish she wrote more for me to read! While I prefer the Will Trent series, Grant County is excellent and provides wonderful background information and character development especially regarding Sara Linton and her relationship with Jeffrey Tolliver.
