“A sizzling forbidden romance.” – #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely Cash Hale has been in love with his best friend’s wife forever. Now Callie and Beau are divorced, but she’s still way off-limits. Dating her would betray his friendship with Beau. And Cash is nothing if not loyal. Callie Sutherland is starting over. The end of her marriage was just one more way she failed to live up to her … she failed to live up to her wealthy family’s expectations, so from now on she’s not even going to try. It’s time to live her life the way she wants. And she wants Cash.
Cash and Beau aren’t just friends, they’re business partners, and the drop in the price of oil has hurt their business. They need to win the bid for Sutherland Industries’ next big project–but it may get messy since Callie’s family owns the business. Not only would Cash risk his friendship with Beau to be with her, he’d be risking the company they worked so hard to create.
But this new Callie isn’t taking no for an answer.
He’s so screwed…

This was a good book, I couldn’t put it down. My heart went out to Cash he loved Callie so much and to have to hide those feelings for so long. I am glad that Callie got rid of Beau, once a cheater always a cheater. Callie deserved better, she deserved Cash. She got him to, yippee. Thank you for the wonderful story, I really enjoyed it.
This charming story not only touches your heart but have you cheering for Callie and Cash. When Callie catches her husband cheating, she immediately goes for a divorce which prompts her best friends to have a divorce party. Cash has always had a thing for Callie but remained in the background. When the divorce was final, he and Callie’s relationship blossomed and developed into something more. Will they get a chance for a happily ever after or will her ex make a play to win her back. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review
I LOVED CALLIE AND CASH.
And let me just say I’m a big sucker for stories set in my hometown. I felt like I could hop in my car and go find Cash and Callie down in River Oaks and try to become their friend or get a job at CAKED. 🙂
Cash knows that Callie is off limits. Bro code and all, since Callie is his best friend’s ex-wife. But Beau messed up when he cheated on Callie… plus it’s been a year since they have separated and now with her divorce final, maybe he can let some of his pent upped feelings for Callie finally come free.
Cash and Callie were magnetic and so HOT. Callie needed someone like Cash in her life. Someone who believed in her and supported her. Cash has always been in love with Callie but stepped aside when his best friend started dating and later married her. The two of them coming together was like an explosion!
A great quick read that was originally part of an Anthology about the Sutherlands (Callie’s family) Looking forward to reading more about this Texas family.
(4-4.5 stars)
SCREWED is one of my favorite Kelly Jamieson books EVER! It’s funny, sexy and a tiny bit taboo. Callie and Beau have been divorced for over a year. After enjoying some time abroad, she has recently returned to the states. She needs to prove to everybody and herself that she can make it on her own. She decides to open her own bakery against her parents wishes. She also goes after something else she wants…her ex’s best friend and business partner, Cash. There were so many elements of this story I enjoyed. Most of all there was the man himself, Cash. He was charming, sexy and such a gentleman. While he always had feelings for Callie, he hid them. Never let on to anyone that he was in love with his best friend’s wife. Callie never found herself attracted to him until well after her divorce was final. That detail right there made the entire story for me. It gave Callie such character and never diminished her marriage to Beau even if he threw it away. The only thing I found lacking was the epilogue. I like them to be a bit farther in the future than a week.
This is one of my favorite forbidden love reads.
Callie is newly divorced and ready to start her life in a new direction. Her champion, Cash, is there when she needs help. What once was friendship is now turning in to something more. It is all kinds of wrong for Callie because Cash is also her ex’s best friend.
Cash and Callie deliver the heat. The taboo elements (ex’s best friend) adds a lot of spice to this story. 4.5 stars for bringing the heat.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for an honest review.
Cash and Callie are friends. Cash has always wanted to be so much more, but unfortunately when your best friend saw (and married) her first you are kinda screwed. This book really made me feel so much. Callie is coming into her own; finally saying screw it to her cheating ex-husband, standing on her own with the expectations of her parents (her mother – omg I kinda couldn’t stand her). In the midst of all these things is Cash, ever present, ever steady and Callie is finally realizing that their connection is electric. Watching these two give in, even if it starts by hiding, was fun and hot. But it was also painful to see two people who are obviously good for each other and with each other, allow others to dictate their happiness. I like Kelly’s writing and her ability to create relatable characters.
After a divorce from her cheating ex-husband, Callie is trying to figure out what to do with her life. Having always done what her family wanted, she is now breaking away, but the answers to her dilemma aren’t so easy to find. Cash, her friend and yet her ex’s best friend as well, has been there to help her with small problems along the way. After a drunken night, a discussion of tattoos and some cookies, Callie is suddenly seeing something in Cash she was never expecting.
I enjoyed this “ex’s best friend” story. Cash has been in love with Callie for years and yet his loyalty to his friend has kept him at a distance. Now he can’t seem to stay away, but what will happen to his friendship and most importantly, the business they share together, if news of their relationship gets out?
Callie had a real struggle on her hands but she was strong and determined despite the emotional obstacles that stood in her way. Cash was wonderful! He was so caring and supportive of her every step of the way. I loved when his alpha tendencies arose! I was so curious how this whole situation was going to sort itself out because it felt like someone was going to lose along the way. The ending was maybe a tad bit tidy and smooth for the circumstances, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
This was a well-paced read that had some great secondary characters, some of which I wanted to push out of a fast running car. The heat level was steamy and oh so good with some dirty talk, which I LOVE, thrown in and the chemistry between Callie and Cash was at overload. There’s an epilogue that only covers a few weeks, so I would’ve liked a further look into their future, but I closed this book feeling happy and sated and again, so pleased with this author’s work.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Entangled. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Blurbs for books like Screwed by Kelly Jamieson are my kryptonite! A man in love with his best friend’s wife and now they are divorced, but she should still be off limits, right? I could not wait to read it once I read that blurb!
Cash Hale has loved Callie for a long time. The only problem? She married his best friend Beau. Now they are divorced, but she is still off limits. Cash is an honest and loyal man and Beau is not only his best friend, but also his business partner.
Callie Sutherland is done living to the expectations of others. Her marriage is over, and she is ready to start over. And she wants Cash. She is finally ready to live her life as she wants and is not looking to back off. Callie is smart and caring and just wants to be happy.
I loved Callie and Cash. Cash’s biggest weakness was his honesty and loyalty. He loves Callie, but because of his relationship with Beau, Callie’s ex, he feels like he needs to keep his distance. Especially now that Cash and Beau are trying to win business with Sutherland Industries.
I truly enjoyed reading Screwed by Kelly Jamieson. It was such a sweet and charming read with actually very light angst. The characters were very likable, honest and caring. The author did a great job with their story and I have a new to me author I am excited to continue reading!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
This is a great read! What do you do when you fall in love with you best friend’s girl? Watch him marry her and try to forget your feelings but when you buddy does the ultimate stupid act of cheating on her and divorce follows, well all bets are off! Callie is home after her European newly single adventure and has to figure what to do with the rest of her life, luckily she has good friends to help. Callie has always liked her ex-husband’s best friend and business partner, Cash but she didn’t expect how deep her feelings would go. Where was Cash’s loyalty going to lie? This read has it all; humor, great characters, fun story line and sex! Another great book from Kelly Jamieson!
Based off this title I wasn’t expecting this to be such a sweet story. Both main characters were genuinely good people that were just in a difficult situation. I really liked both of them and loved seeing these two together despite the obstacles in their way.
Back in college, Cash’s best friend beat him to the girl first. He had to stuff down his attraction to Callie and watch his best friend date and eventually marry her. This story begins after Callie divorces Baeu and spent a year traveling.
It was the perfect way to start the story so that enough time had lapsed for Callie and Cash to have their beginning. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t still a barrier for them. Cash is a true gentlemen. He knows Callie should be off limits despite the divorce but his love for her was just too strong.
Cash’s love for Callie is what really made this such a sweet story for me. He waited for her for so long, tried to stay loyal to his best friend and business partner but his love for her trumped everything.
Despite the situation, this wasn’t an overly angsty story. The author gave a good portion of the story to these two just being together as good friends that turns to more. I enjoyed it very much and loved how everything resolved in the end.
This was pretty good.. Cash and Callie have known each other since college.. Cash fell in love with Callie 6 years ago but she was his best friends girl. 6 years later Callie and Beau (Cash best friend) have been married and now divorced. Callie calls on Cash to help her fix things in her house, take her to get a tattoo, save her behind when she is drunk etc. There is a physical attraction for sure and when they act on it how will they handle it?
Well written as always but the storyline was a bit cliche for me
This is a second chance romance unlike any other I’ve read! Callie has been separated from her husband for over a year due to his affairs (and honestly his belief that they are no big deal JERK) but is finally finalizing her divorce. With a family that has pressured her into “marrying the right man” for the wrong reasons and enforce her to show a “proper image” she can’t take the strain any more. She’s intent to become her own woman and find her own happiness, in herself. The unplanned happiness? The sudden;u supportive and understanding Cash, her ex-husband’s best friend. They’ve all been friends for year but Cash seems to want to develop feelings for Callie now that she’s no longer with Beau.
Cash has a hard time dealing with his emotions for Callie. For one, he’s had them for her for years, before she married Beau. But he felt it was his duty to bury those feelings and simply think of her as a friend. But after years of seeing Beau’s treatment of her and her final axe to their marriage, Cash now has the ability to spend some more one on one time with her. Finding the woman she’s become helps to grow those feelings into less friendly and more romantic ways. A chance night, and the two of them finally cave to their feelings only to discover the insane chemistry and ease with which they flow.
There’s more to this than just a chance at finally getting the girl. Callie is trying to become her own woman and open her own business much to the dislike of her family. I did not like her family, or her ex-husband, at ALL. Elitist high-brow snots who spoke down to her at every turn; ooh I was rooting for Callie to speak up and out the whole book! And having to hide her relationship with Cash, that’s going to put strain on any couple. A fun romance read that surprised me and had me hoping for the best!
The heart is a lonely hunter looking for a way to make itself whole. In the case of Callie and Cash love proves to be a minefield. Cash is willing to risk friendships, business deals and his emotions to have his heart’s desire. Callie is the woman of his dreams. Hopefully their feelings won’t become a waking nightmare. Screwed is the beginning of what could be for two people willing to take a risk and make it so. Jamieson takes a detour into the ugly stuff to get to the rainbow in the end. Emotional romance.
4.5 Stars for Screwed by Kelly Jamieson
Callie is recently divorced and is trying to keep her life on track but her family seem hell bent on getting her to make it up with her ex Cash because they believe he was the perfect husband for the two wealthy families business connections. Beau is Cash’s business partner and best friend but since the divorce he has been spending more time with Callie and whilst getting to know her his heart starts ruling his head, she should be off limits so why can’t he forget her…..
Screwed had me hooked from the first page, it has just the right amount of angst and romance, it’s a story that will have you rooting for a HEA, the characters are easy to like and it left me feeling all fuzzy inside In another words a perfect romance.
This is the first Kelly Jamieson story that I have read that was not sports related – and I liked it!
Cash and Callie’s story is as sweet, sexy, heartwarming friend-to-lovers story about a woman and her ex husband’s best friend.
We can guess from the outset that his is going to cause some problems, however I loved the way our lovelies worked their way through them – eventually.
I am not going to lie – I pretty much despised her ex and her parents most of the book! What a bunch of douchecanoes!
Cash is just all kinds of swoonworthy – Callie girl, if you didn’t take him I was going to claim him!
So many hurdles for C & C to overcome, will they get their HEA? Nup, for that you need to read for yourself.
Wonderful characters, strong story line, I was hooked from the minute I started right till the last word.
I can’t wait to see what Ms Jamieson brings us next
Callie Sutherland is a woman on a mission, after a devastating divorce she has vowed to make her life about her for a change, and plans to fully enjoy every second of it, and if that means acting on her longtime crush, and hooking up with with her exes best friend then by damned she is going to do it! She understands Cash’s obligations to his best friend, but she also understands that there are some serious sparks arching between them and it would be a waste not to embrace them, and bring a little much needed happiness to both of their lives.
Cash Hale has loved Callie for a long time, and always stood on the sidelines and watched his best friend have the life with her that he wanted… and it hurt a lot more than he cared to admit, especially when he noticed that his friend wasn’t treating her right. But now that they are no longer together Cash secretly wants to act on his feelings for her, but doing so could royally screw up his friendship with her ex and also their business relationship. With Callie dropping hints and making passes it’s becoming harder to keep her in the forbidden zone, and his resolve to hold up the bro code is starting to slip… he’s so close to having everything he’s ever wanted!
Screwed is an enthralling forbidden romance that will put a squeeze on your heart and leave a permanent blush on your face… forbidden has never been so sweet!! I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it had moments that were sweet and tender, and then some hot and steamy moments that required a fan… it was good mix of everything really! The characters were downright amazing, I loved Callie’s tenacity and the way she went after what she wanted and didn’t let others perceptions of right and wrong get in the way. And there is SO much to love about Cash, he was loyal, sweet, caring, protective and knew how to turn on the heat! I highly recommend you give this one a try it’s sure to leave you smiling!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
I really enjoyed this sweet friends to lovers story. It is sexy and smart and has just the right amount of humor infused into it. Kelly is one of my go-to romance authors because she always makes me smile. Cash & Callie are so good for each other and just perfect together. Poor Cash has been in love with Callie since his best friend Beau dated her in college and then married her. Now divorced from Beau, Cash is still there for Callie but he still works with Beau so his feelings tear him up. He tries so hard to just be friends with Callie but his heart gets in the way and he just gets in deeper. Yep that’s right, he’s screwed. There is no way he can keep from going down the rabbit hole with Callie. He’s so sweet, amazing and lovable and is there for Callie always; he’s the perfect man. Callie is so lovable, sweet and amazing too. See, they really are perfect for each other, but can they overcome the roadblocks life sets in their way?
One such roadblock has a name, and it’s Beau and things could get ugly.
