A New Mystery Brought Georgie And Jack Together. Will An Old One Drive Them Apart? In midlife, Georgie Shaw and Detective Jack Wheeler have a second chance at love, despite the fact they met during a murder investigation. A murder at Catmmando Mountain wasn’t Georgie’s first brush with murder and mayhem. Decades earlier, Georgie was nearly killed in an attack on the beach that left one man dead … left one man dead and two others missing including her fiancé, Danny Farrell.
˃˃˃ Haunted By A Song From The Past
When Georgie returns to Corsario Cove, more than memories haunt her as a song Danny wrote just for her echoes in the air: Love Notes in the Key of Sea. Who else, other than she and Danny could know that song? Is it possible Danny’s still alive? Or is the person who assaulted her on the beach after her again?

Interesting way to reveal the past trauma mentioned in book one. A friend’s daughter survives an attack on a beach and Georgie agrees to help the daughter recover. This story is not about the Cat Factory but it is a good yarn.
Georgie and Danny had been attacked on the beach in her hometown in her early 20s and the man she was engaged to was missing. All these years of not knowing what happened to him and trying to heal from this attack on her has been very stressful for her. Now her best friend’s daughter has been attacked on a beach and she wants Georgie to help her through her healing. Georgie agrees to go home, a place she’s only been back to once since her attack, and she agrees to help Meredith. She will have to face what really happened to her as the past will rear up and attack again. Often people tell lies to relieve themselves of their guilt and soon they believe those lies and live a life that’s an illusion but the truth is just too hard for them to bear. Miss Burke has woven a complicated story of people trying to heal when they only have lies to deal with. This is such an awesome book I loved reading it!!!
This is the second book in the Georgie Shaw series and I do recommend you start with book 1 (Murder at Catmmando Mountain), since the story is referenced a lot.
Georgie Shaw and her boyfriend Detective Jack Wheeler are heading back to Georgie’s hometown of Corsario Cove. She hasn’t been there in twenty years (to attend her best friends wedding as Maid of Honor) because of the loss of her fiancé while they were in town for Christmas when she was in college. Georgie can’t remember much about the night Danny disappeared. She remembers they were on the beach, sitting near a fire, when she was bashed in the head. She’s got jumbled images after that, but all she really knows is that Danny disappeared, and another young man has lost his life. Now Georgie and Jack are there to support Georgie’s friend whose daughter had been attacked.
But strange things are happening now that make’s Georgie question whether Danny had been killed and his body never found, or if he’d gone into hiding, and has now come back. If you’re questioning the title, you’ll have to read the story because it’s explained in there.
I am definitely liking the story arc for this series. I’m glad to see that Georgie hasn’t ran Jack off yet, and I like that we can see the foibles in the pair. The author has a way writing characters that make you want to know them more, characters that aren’t perfect, characters with flaws. When the author tugs on the strings of all the parts of this mystery, you can’t wait to see who’s behind it all and why. This is another winner for this author and I definitely recommend not only this book, but this series to all those that are fans of cozy mysteries.

A good mystery
Georgie Shaw and Jack Wheeler are back in the 2nd Georgie Shaw Cozy Mystery. Georgie is finally going to face her painful past in Corsario Cove. Of course, Jack is with her every step of the way. I wish I had a Jack Wheeler of my own. He is a wonderful man. Georgie and Jack deserve an HEA.
Once again, Anna Celeste Burke has written a wonderful book. You will find drama, comedy, romance, and more when you read her books. Love Notes is well-written, moves at a steady pace, and kept my attention from beginning to end. The characters are everyday people, which I love. Makes them more real, in my opinion. Grab a copy of Murder At Catmmando Mountain and Love Notes In The Key of Sea. If you like cozy mysteries, you will love these stories.
I enjoyed Love Notes in the Key of Sea by Anna Celeste Burke. A woman can’t move on with her love life until she gets some answers about a heartbreaking event from her past. When she reaches out to help a friend deal with a similar situation, she finds herself embroiled in a small resort town mystery than put her life in danger. Well written, solid characters, and great locale make this a good read.
A nice afternoon’s read.
This is book two in the Georgie Shaw mysteries. I really enjoyed book one in this cozy series but this book, book two was just okay. I am on to book three and am thinking I like it better. The difference seems to be the location of the story. Book one and three take place in LA. Book two takes place at a resort on the beach. I did like finding out the story behind Georgie’s first love and loss.
