On holiday leave from the service, Gabriel McQueen is sent into a brewing ice storm to make sure that his father’s distant neighbor, Lolly Helton, who has fallen out of contact, is safe and sound. It’s a trip that Gabriel would rather not make, given the bitter winter weather—and the icy conditions that have always existed between him and Lolly. Arriving at Lolly’s home, Gabriel spots strangers … strangers through the windows—one of them packing a weapon—and kicks into combat mode. But once Lolly is rescued, the heat—and the hunt—are on. Snowbound, unarmed, and literally under the gun, Gabriel and Lolly must depend on each other to endure the merciless forces of nature and evade the ruthless enemy out in the blackness of the silent night—and out for their blood.

Was surprised to get to the end, found myself thinking “ but what happens next?”.
Not as good as I had hoped.
Great! Very realistic with characters. Would buy it again!
Predictable
Linda Howard is my favorite author. Her books are so easy to read.
Not a page turner. I tried multiple times forcing my way all the way to chapter 5. Then I gave up and read the last chapter and the epilogue .
Kept me turning the pages
Good. Characters don’t seem quite as developed as some of her other books but still a good read.
It was a real page turner
Really good.
Another great book from Linda Howard. Just the right amount of suspense and romance.
Too short!
I always enjoy Linda Howard!
