A lovely, easy to read twist on the star-crossed lovers story. I really enjoyed the feuding grandfathers, and the story’s final resolution. A good happily ever after for all.
I really enjoyed this book. Was a great read and would recommend. Love this author!
A revisit to Romeo and Juliet…with a happy ending
Even though you know how it is going to end you with enjoy the ride.
I liked it because no matter what family is family and good or best friends should always work it out. Looking forward to following the characters of Willow Cove.
Paolo offers a new twist on a family feud that blocks a romance. The twists and turns make for an interesting read.
I liked this book and could relate to the small town mentality. Throughout the book, one wonders why families act the way they do. Secrets, grudges, control seems to be a way of life. The author wrapped up all the questions and answers by the end of the book. I liked how the 2 main characters were instrumental in bringing the family and community together.
I really enjoyed the story, very sweet, and totally believable as far as the historic family feud goes. First time to read this author a d I enjoyed her. This book did not get me all stressed out!
A fun quick story. Romeo & Juliet with a twist.
Love this series, very realistic!
Only in America can old world traditions and cultures seep into modern day situations. Super reading and a great ending.
Ella Moretti is all about the importance of family and being there for each other. This explains why she gives up her dream of opening an interior design studio to move in with her grandfather when grandma dies.
Lucas Prescott is big on family also. He is travelling from California to Maine to help his grandfather put the restaurant books in order.
Unfortunately for Ella and Lucas, their feelings for each other come to a screeching halt when they discover that their grandfathers have an ongoing feud. It is several decades old; how this seemingly hopeless situation turns around makes for an entertaining light- hearted read.
A gorgeous and beautifully written small town romance. Ella and Lucas are wonderful characters with whom you will utterly fall in love with, but they are not without their quirky and charming problems!! A fantastic read from this talented author!
I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I’m a sucker for a seaside town and a large Italian family so right there the author had me. This story is a cute light riff on Romeo and Juliet or perhaps the two philly cheese steak stands in Philadelphia or even Pepe’s and Sally’s pizza in New Haven CT. The story was a little predictable but the author set up the stories to come in the series. I thought the ending came a bit too fast but all in all a well written nice story.
Her Forbidden Love Match by Theresa Paolo is the first I have read by this author and I am looking forward to more. Her story was unique and entertaining, her characters three-dimensional.
Ella lives with her grandfather in a small coastal town, which caters primarily to tourists. Her family owns a small cafe, which specializes in lobster rolls. Ella would like to be an interior designer but feels she owes her family and so is giving up her dream, for now. Once a month she travels by bus to see her father, who is in prison. It is on one of these trips home that she meets Lucas, an attractive young man headed to her town to help his grandfather, who he has never met but hopes to forge a relationship with. They share a pleasant ride but don’t really plan to see one another again. Well, she didn’t, until he texted. It didn’t really take to long for the initial attraction to blossom into more.
It turns out, though, that their families are bitter enemies in a town where everyone takes the feud seriously. Can their relationship survive? Since this is a romance, you know the answer to that, but there are twists and turns, including Ella’s over protective brothers, and Lucas’ impossible father.
A fun story to read: it was different than many romances. Problems existed for Ella and Lucas that don’t normally come up. I enjoyed it and recommend it.
Ella and Lucas meet by chance and have an instant connection.. then things got complicated. I absolutely adored this book. It is well written and all the characters are so wonderful it feels as if you know them. Her Forbidden Love Match is fabulous, funny, tender, feisty and romantic .. everything you could possibly want wrapped up in one book. I definitely recommend this book.
