Ashley had come to Dragon Isle for grad research, stayed and loved to explore. This day she was lost and caught in a storm, entering a mansion that looked deserted. Theodore and his nephew/son were in the home and surprised her. When she helped his son relax during the storm, he offered her the job of nanny and she accepted. Loved the situations and banter as they learned to work together in raising Stuart, especially when he flew up into the tree where she had climbed. So many hidden secrets between them as they both had severe losses and depression from mourning their loved ones. The characters and storyline are terrific. Ashley and Theodore both force each other to step outside their box of safety and learn to live again. Beautiful story.

I enjoy second chance romances and this didn’t disappoint. Ashley, a young woman with some deep rooted grief, comes to Dragon Isle to escape. I found her interesting from the start. Even though she is going through some troubles, her attitude was refreshing and appears she has no filter. Many of times I will laugh at her outbursts. I really think her and the moody dragon Theodore was made for each other. He needs her sweetness to counter his tartness and she needs his guiding hand to counter her brattiness. Oh I can’t leave out cute and adorable Stuart. He’s the glue that connects them all. So sweet. Love how this turned out for them because it was much deserved.

This is book three of the Dragon Isle series, where Dragon Isle is a haven for dragon shifters, who want somewhere safe and less chaotic, to be with their own kind, to be left alone if that’s what they want, or even a place to find love. This book has a young woman, Ashley, caught out in the wilds and seeking cover from the storm in what she thought was an abandoned mansion, whilst out exploring the wild parts of Dragon Isle. When she finds it very dusty and no one answers her call, she presumes the owner are away, or it is abandoned and makes her way upstairs to find somewhere warm to get out of her wet clothes for the night. She finds a bedroom and snuggles in, then gets a voice coming out of the darkness, asking what she thinks she is doing! Dragon Theodore lives there with his dead sister’s son Stuart, who he is now responsible for. He is a bit of a loner and is happy to mostly work from home and look after Stuart, who he now thinks of as his own. He doesn’t mix much with the others on Dragon Isle and his home is miles out in the wilds at the edge of the island. Ashley came to the island to study dragons, but really to run away from a sad past, having lost her husband and her unborn child. She has worked at the only restaurant in the town with Victoria and her dragon husband, for the past three years, but feels like she needs a change. When she finds young Stuart, who has woken up scared, she goes to comfort him and wraps him up in her arms. When Theo sees this, he asks her to be his son’s nanny the next morning, especially when he comes down to see him laughing as she makes them pancakes, as well. She finds him extremely attractive, but he realises she is hiding something and tries to go slowly with her, even if her friends allow the relationship to be pushed a little!
One book out of a steamy stories with dragons falling in love with female humans and their unexpected coming together tales. The first tale is the most explicit as Kade hires Lindsey as his sex slave for a year, and is a strict Dom, having to train her up in her role as a Submissive. This book is a bit less extreme and more of people who have kept out of mainstream normal lifestyles in their communities, whether from a past event that has made them feel unable to move forward, or having been too busy with work and other pressures on their time, finally meeting together and having instant attraction. Not fair that all the dragons can tell this by smell, but that doesn’t mean these relationships would definitely work. Both parties had to come together and find a common need, to then move forward with life and love. An interesting island, with lots more people looking for their mates and love, whilst trying to keep their presence secret from most humans, and keeping relations between humans and dragons as civil as possible. I don’t normally read erotica, but this was not overly erotic, steamy in parts yes, but still more to do with the types of characters these dragons are portrayed as. This is a fairly normal part of dragon life, both male and female, in these stories. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Ashley has been looing for peace, as she has been running from her pain and her past. It takes a chance of getting caught in storm to set her world right. While seeking shelter from the storm, she enters a home of Theodore, a dragon, who in the morning hires her to help with his nephew.

Some doors that close, really do lead to comforting doors.Ashley is caught in a storm and seeks refuge in a mansion she stumbles across thinking it’s abandoned. This was her first time in this particular mansion. She had lived on Dragon Isle for years. She initially came to complete her grad, degree. She didn’t finish her degree, or school. Her husband, Daren died of a bear attach while celebrating their upcoming graduation. Ashley, miscarried and lost her uterus. Theodore, offers her a job as nanny to his son, Stuart. Ashley has feelings for Theo and he for her, but neither communicate. Ashley, finally takes steps to move things along. Interesting story. Dragon Isle is a little more than expected. Seeking shelter from a storm
A Dragon’s Bite is the third book in the Dragon Isle series and tells the story of Ashley and Theodore and don’t forget little Stuart. Ashley is on the run and when a storm comes up she finds an abandoned mansion where she decides to take shelter. The only problem is that it is not abandoned and Theodore and his nephew Stuart live there. When Theodore catches Ashley he does something unexpected by offering her the job of Stuart’s nanny. As she does not have anywhere else to go she accepts the position and quickly becomes attached to both Theodore and Stuart.
This is a fast-paced novella that does have a dragon shifter or two, some drama, nice characters, emotional pull and of course some steamy hot chemistry between Ashley and Theodore.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Sheltering from a storm seems so straight forward. Who could know that it would result in a job offer which slowly but surely changes the direction of life’s path

I loved the story! An emotionally, lonely, devastated dragon. Ashley is a human with a lot of emotional problems also. She’s afraid to tell anyone what’s worrying her. Theodore hires Ashley to help him with his son.
