Tragedy cleaves Micah and Daniel apart and tragedy brings them back to the same place. Both Daniel and Micah find themselves in tough situations that do not have easy answers nor the opportunity for easy resolution. There is a lot of pain that they have to work their way through to work their way back to one another. R J Scott does a good job of taking us along on their journey to to try do just that. I look forward to further books in this series. There is so much here.

I was more than a little uncertain at how there was going to work out for Daniel and Micah given their history, but I trusted R.J. to given me a good story and I’m really glad I did. Both Micah and Daniel are good guys that life has dealt a difficult hand, and both have issues they need to work through in order to reach their HEA. I like that isn’t a “magic” fix for the issues they are working through, but rather a process through the story. Their past was both an impediment to their relationship and a driving force for the tension between them.
I also really like Daniel’s siblings, they clearly care about their brother, but they don’t take over the story. I liked the care you see Micah show Rachel and Laurie, even through his uncertainty about the future he shows his heart through the way he treats them. This is an HEA that took some work, but so worth it in the end.
It will be interesting to see how the series continues. I hope we will get to see more of the Lennox and Sheridan siblings in the future books.
I was captivated with this great story from the very first page and the characters were so well detailed that I had a very hard time putting this book down!
Micah left Whisper Ridge promising never to return but now he brings his sister back.
After a fatal accident Micah promises never to return to Whisper Ridge but now he is back bringing his pregnant sister and frightened nephew to the family farm. The accident had left one teenager dead and another with life changing injuries but Micah who had been driving had only minor injures. He had taken the keys from Daniel the man he loved and who was the injured teenagers older brother and it was to him he made the promise to never return. His sister had got involved in a cult and in trying to get her and her son out her husband had been killed leaving the two traumatized and broken. Seeing Daniel again is torture but his sister needs his support. A second chance romance to relax and enjoy.

Another fantastic book by RJ Scott. She once again brings an emotional story between two broken men in Micah and Daniel. Their characters are realistic and the supporting characters also help to bring this story around. The author does a great job bringing the story to life , pulling you in and keeping you reading right to the end. I loved and highly recommend this book.

This is the first book in the MM romance Whisper Ridge, Wyoming Series. This was a great book about how true loves can weather any tragedy. This story has a great story-line with so much sadness, I was surprised when the characters got their happy ending. The characters are well developed and the pace was steady. I had a hard time putting the book down. Wonderful story.

Great rumination on sorrow and grief with some very intriguing characters who must find their way past tragedy to seize their second chance at a happy ever after. Very moving but a somewhat rushed ending. Still looking forward to the next book, though.
I give this review 4&1/2 stars. I really enjoyed this book. It did not have a total feel of other books that I’ve read from this author. This is a very heartbreaking 2nd chance love story. Micah and Daniel had to overcome a lot of pain from their pasts and add on new emotional and physical stuff. This a greatly written story and the author did a great job of putting the past to rest and giving these guys a great HEA

Another one I couldn’t put down! Seriously I have no idea how to even get over this story. I have to spend some time unpacking everything I read.
There was so much pain and anguish, but at the end of it all there was pure forgiveness and it was a beautiful thing.
Accidents happen. Tragedy strikes. Placing blame is natural. But when no one is to blame, you find someone to direct all your anger and hatred at. For this family and town, it was Micah Lennox.
But what a good, solid, strong man he was. And he wasn’t expecting anything in return. And Daniels forgivenesses was glorious.
Amazing story. Beautiful words. Unforgettable characters. A must read.

Oh, My Goodness! Winter Cowboy was a delight and heartbreaking story all rolled into one. I am just sayin’ you need to have plenty of tissues handy because you will need them! Micah is bring his sister and her son home after 9 years away from the family ranch so he can protect them. Daniel is now the town doctor and not at all happy to see Micah who killed one friend and injured Daniel’s brother in an unforgettable accident. Things only get worse as Micah can’t forgive himself either for the accident. But some how a lot of good comes their way when each forgives the other and love starts to bloom. Wonderful book and will be rereading it again and again!
The review title pretty much sums it up. One mistake / accident can change the lives of so many and forgiveness for some may take years and leave so many broken, waiting, still loving but as they say anger is the root of all evil. When we hurt sometimes all you can do is hurt the one you love the most. As a single parent I have been asked why I’m not angry and my response stays steady. I am where I am because of the choices I’ve made, that’s not saying there wasn’t outside sources and extenuating circumstances, I’m just saying at the end of the day the choice was mine and choices sometimes come with consequences and those consequences inadvertently may cause consequences for others. What I’m saying is if you chose to get married and have kids and at the end of the day the marriage ends the consequences if you may is being a single parent now that also carries the consequence of any kids had during that marriage now being caught between two parents who are no longer together. That’s just an example as my kids have never been a consequence, but, the point is Micah’s actions and Daniels reaction in this story came with some pretty serious consequences. The car accident that caused a fatality and a friend the loss of his leg was a consequence that should have never been put on a 19 year old child to bare on their own. I’ve found that this book has a very powerful meaning that changed the fate of many and caused years lost all over consequences, choices, mistakes, bad judgement, fear, a whole lot of anger and families left torn. This is a great book with an HEA ending that was a long time coming. Enjoy.

Micah returning to his home town after 10 years. A terrible tragedy, time in prison and finding a way to live. A phone call from his sister that she needed him to save her and her child.
Daniel home only a year after a tragedy, to face a life he always wanted as a Dr. In his home town, but having to deal with the tragedy and liss he left behind.
Is it possible that these 2 can find forgiveness and healing, separate or together. Can they live the life they were ment to live, cry, love, heal and rejoice with them as you read their story.

Oh Wow, this book is tragic and beautiful all at the same time. Micha Lennox made a youthful mistake that took the life of one friend and severely injured another and he paid. Taking his sister back to the place he promised to never come back to, he had to face his demons one of them being Daniel the man he loved when he was 19 years old. Now Daniel has demons of his own. Micha worries for his sister and trying to come to grip with all that is Whisper Ridge now – will he and Daniel conquer enough to renew a love that has never really died.
This book has family, loss, love and a lot of other emotions. It pulls at your heart strings hard.
Wow just wow.
This is a wonderfully written story that captivated my attention and kept me glued to the pages. My heart hurt for Micahand Daniel and all the pain and suffering they have gone through. Both men are broken from a shared past tragedy and ones suffered individually. I thought the characters were written well, they are believable, complex, and heartfelt. The romance (second chance) between these two men is a very slow burn. I like how the author took the time to build up to these men reconnecting romantically, it felt more realistic and believable. This book had my emotions on a rollercoaster, through it all, I wanted to see these men succeed on their difficult journey back to each other. Definitely a book worth reading.
I love books by RJ Scott and Winter Cowboy is the best yet. Heart wrenching, thought provoking and the characters are amazing. It begins with a terrible accident destroying the lives of four childhood friends. I cried for Micah, who became a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders. It took me longer to appreciate Daniel, but understood his pain. Amazing story of teenage mistakes, dysfunctional families, guilt, forgiveness and love.

To say that Micah and Daniel’s relationship was strained is an understatement of epic proportions. Separated by almost a decade, pain, and loss their journey to their HEA was an uphill battle. They were great characters and they had an amazing supporting cast of characters there to help them move past their pain. This was a great series opener.
