Deputy Marshal Angel Larson is on the run, framed for the heinous murder of a man she was sworn to protect. With her safe houses compromised, she is drawn to contact an ex DEA agent currently in witness protection. Though it has been a year since she last saw him, she has been unable to forget their time together and hopes that he won’t give her up to the authorities. Angel hides out in Colton’s house, investigating leads to clear her name and whilst she knows she is endangering his cover, she cannot bring herself to leave him again. A nicely paced story with light and dark, and characters with whom you can engage.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Busting the bad guys was never so dangerous or sexy…
It’s the nightmare scenario no US Marshal wants to experience – losing a client. For Angel Larson it’s a double kick to the gut because she’s been framed for the death and now has to go on the run, looking for a way to clear herself. But when her options disappear, she’s left with only one chance at safety – if she’s willing to take it.
Colton Williamson’s in Witness Protection, his new identity grinding against him like sandpaper. But when Angel Larson appears at his front door, the past and present collide hard – she was the Marshal guarding him a year ago while he waited to testify. They found solace in each other’s arms and Colton thought they had something more… until he woke up one morning to find her gone, pulling herself off the assignment. Now she’s back needing sanctuary and he’s more than willing to give it to her – even if it might open himself to exactly what he’s hiding from.
“Wanted for Life” grabs you from the first sentence and doesn’t slow down for a second on a wild, romantic dash to save hearts and lives! Hold onto something or someone while reading this – it’s one fast-paced, crazy heart-stopping ride from the first paragraph!
Wanted for Life by Allison B. Hanson
Love Under Fire #2
Grabbed from the beginning by the horror that Angela sees when she wakes in the morning I could not stop reading till I finished the book. Angela and Colton are given a second chance at love when she heads to his WITSEC location to lay low for a while. Their chemistry is still present even after the months apart but whether or not they will find a way to a HEA with all they have to deal with is not easily or quickly determined.
I really enjoyed the back stories of both characters that gave insight into what made them tick. I also enjoyed reading about how they ended up in the professions they did and how they were both questioning just what they wanted to do in the future and how best to go about it.
This was intense and suspenseful with a mystery to solve, a murderer to deal with, a prototype to get back and a romance with a potential HEA to enjoy.
