When his niece becomes ill, Cael stepped up to share the burden. On a rare night out, he runs into her… the woman with the long hair that captures his attention. A woman after his own heart, not looking for commitment. They agree to a night with no names and no regrets. But one night isn’t enough and as they become closer, not knowing each other’s names is the least of their secrets. Regina, at … of their secrets.
Regina, at the worst possible time in her life, falls for the man of mystery. Their passion cannot be denied, but as their secrets are uncovered, is passion enough to carry them through?
A Heroes at Heart novel. These men, raised in the loving foster home by the benevolent Miss Ethel, discovered there lies a hero in all of us. Based loosely on the fairy tale, Rapunzel.
Subject matter is similar to what you would find in an R-rated movie. Please be advised, for 18+ readers.

Moving and wonderful read, somewhat heart breaking at times but also inspirational and uplifting. From a tiny small scared little boy clutching his teddy Cael has grown into a strong caring and sensitive young man, full of love and support for his family. Regina has battled much already in her life but takes a brief time out. I loved this story, it has depth and feeling, powerful emotions and fabulous characters
got completely drawn into the story and found it very difficult to put down.
This was a beautifully written story about love, family, and sticking together.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
This series is loosely based on fairy tales, but it has a different and interesting take. The characters are flawed but lovable. The stories are both heart-wrenching and lovely.
5 stars are not enough. This is so much more than a romance. It is about family, survival, communication, love. I read this with tears in eyes so many times. I will not forget Cael, Regina and Cindy for a very long time.
How a one and done no names and no regrets turned into a happy ever after.
As always Ms Jordan weaves a take that is hard to put down. Good with humor, tears, and a lot of love.
Grab the tissues especially for the end…yeah ok I cry when it gets happy.
This was a beautiful love story, two people reaching out for each other to escape the real world and their problems. Only to become emotionally attached and unable to let go. This story will tug on your heart strings, it’s wonderfully written and not all sad. After all the mentions of fairy tales you have to know it’s going to end well.
Grab your tissues now, you will definitely need them.
Cael’s niece Cindy is fighting lymphoma, so much for a little girl. He visits everyday, reading to her until she falls asleep. This gives his sister Kathy and her husband Tom, time to get a meal together.
When a flu outbreak hits, he’s unable to visit, not wanting to go home, he finds himself going not to Grimm’s but somewhere he won’t be recognized.
Regina’s hair calls to him, the colors as described brings to mind a sunset. Their initial interaction was fun and a favorite scene.
What starts as one night, no names, quickly become more. A weekend followed by a week of meeting up after work.
When she disappears after meeting Cindy, Cael has no idea why. They haven’t revealed their true names so he finds himself at a loss. So many twists and turns to get these two where they need to be.
Miss Ethel, the brothers by choice, the family, a sacrifice and more blend into a heartrending story of faith, hope and love with a sizzling attraction, that is loosely based on the story of Rapunzel.
Strong alpha male with heart of gold finds his perfect woman and doesn’t even know her name. Cael and Regina are perfectly matched in more ways than they can even imagine. Maryann Jordan has written the perfect story of family, love, and sacrifice. This book touched my soul as a cancer survivor myself it brought back the highs and lows and how important family is to recovery. This series Heroes at Heart is a great addition to Jordan’s body of work as these characters are so real. Loved the Disney princess tie in and the quotes were so perfect. If you have not read Maryann Jordan you are missing one of the best!
Amazing read. It’s sweet, heartwarming story with some heartbreaking moments. It will captivate you from the beginning as it has you feeling all sorts of emotions. You will love the characters. The connection and chemistry between the characters is sizzling and steamy. A great addition to this series.
If you want an emotional grab from the very first page then you have to read Cael. It calls for Kleenex to be near through out the book.
Cael and Regina meet. Agree to no names. Have a good time and Cael wants more.
This is a story of love coming when you least expect it and how can it survive when tragedy hits.
Maryann Jordan has a way of creating emotions that grip your heart and makes it so real you feel as if they are happening to you.
One of the best I have read in this series, Heroes at Heart.
You know that feeling you got when you read fairy tales as a little girl..the beautiful princess and handsome prince…they meet, fall in love, then some evil force tries to come between them, but love always wins in the end. I know in this day and age we as women don’t want to admit it, but deep down we are all those little girls who believe in that type of love on some level. I do I’m not afraid to admit. I’m a sucker for a happy ending.
When Maryann announced in her reader group she was writing the Heroes at Heart series and they would be plays off of fairytales I wasn’t really sure…because I am a hard core Saint’s fan lol, but i truly love all her books…but Jack he’s my man…anyhow I’ve been reading the Heroes series and I do love them, but nothing prepared me for Cael. I was absolutely blown away by this book.
Cael and Regina meet at a time in both of their lives when they just need to forget and enjoy a little peace. What starts out as a one night stand becomes two souls that long for one another one night turns into days. Cael’s niece is fighting for her life and he makes a decision that he cant carry on and give his family the attention they need… he immediately regrets his decision, but is it too late. Regina makes a beautiful sacrifice for Cael’s niece….but she is fighting her own battle as well….this story had me in tears…it is beautifully written and I must say Cael has kicked Jack out of his number 1 spot in my heart.
You are going to love this book!
I loved this latest installment of the Heroes at Heart series! This is the story of Cael and Regina. Cael wants a night out to forget his troubles and at a bar he meets Regina. It was only supposed to be for a night but they both couldn’t deny the intense attraction and they kept pushing the timeline further and further. They didn’t bargain on needing each other as much as they did…..or realizing how much they mean to each other in such a short time. Their story was so sweet and sad at moments. I definitely recommend having some tissues nearby! I was hooked from beginning to end and hated to see their story end. I laughed, cried, swooned, and fanned myself during the hot sexy times. It was such a great story and I would recommend their story to all. I can’t wait until the next book in the series….well done!!!!
This is the third book in the Heroes at heart series and the reader is Gifted with Cael’s story. This reader was enthralled from the first page and enjoyed the tale of these two finding a common heart’s journey. Definitely recommend.
When it comes to heartwarming love stories with characters who have great inner strength and are so likeable, you care about them from page one, Maryann Jordan is one of those authors who is a master of her craft. In this series the title characters have had far from idyllic childhoods but end up in the care of a woman who teaches them all about love and the importance of family. As grown men those lessons play out in the stories as each man meets the love of his life.
When life piles too much on us sometimes we need to escape, even if it’s just for a night. Cael and Regina AKA Titan and Red, hookup for what is intended to be a one night stand with no names, no regrets. While it’s readily apparent that there is something more between them, Cael has too much on his plate and having a relationship just isn’t in the cards for him. So Regina walks regretfully away.but arranges for a selfless gift to be given to Cael’s niece anonymously. Regina stays on Cael’s mind but misconceptions and misinterpretations of events keep them apart. Once the truth is learned, Cael is chagrined at his behavior and seeks Regina out to make amends. She is willing to try again but is keeping a dark shadow on her horizon from him. No matter what, though, Cael is not walking away this time. They will see this through together and get their happily ever after.
This Heroes at the Heart series is some of Ms. Jordan’s best writing. I have come to love her alpha males and strong women, but this is a whole different thing. We still have alpha men and strong women, but the stories are a lot less suspense and so much more emotion. Each story gets better than the last and they have all been exceptional!
Cael and Regina’s story was heartfelt on so many levels. I knew what was coming and yet I could steel my emotions for the hurt I know was coming. This book was packed with emotions and heart and I ate up every minute of it. Ms. Ethel’s boys are some of the best heroes around and I can’t wait to jump into the next book in this series.
I loved Cael (a Heroes at Heart story). The author really took me in a new direction. The story was so emotional.
Family is most important to Cael and he is trying to be present and helpful when his sister Kathy and her husband are stretched thin trying to care for a sick child.
“I just think we’re a lot like the ducks. You know, we see other people and they are so calm on the outside, but we don’t really know what they have going on inside. Many of them might be paddling like crazy.”
Cael feels like he doesn’t have enough of himself left to give to anyone else or to invest in a relationship. He meets a beautiful stranger and a one night stand ends up lasting a week. No names are exchanged but Red and Titan find themselves in deeper than expected.
After their week, Regina rushes off just leaving a note.
“Sometimes, plans change. Sometimes, it’s better to just love, even when there’s no chance to have love in return.”
Titan & Red’s swoony, romantic story helped soften the painful emotions brought up by Cael’s niece Cindy’s illness. Cael is an amazing story with a hero who has so much more to give than he ever realizes!
-5Stars!-
Maryann Jordan has written a heartbreaking yet heartwarming book, one that you will not forget. One that has your emotions all twisted up, your heart will hurt, your eyes will leak and your heart will burst.
I couldn’t wait until Cael’s story was out and WHAT A BOOK IT IS!!! We’ve met a few of Mrs Ethel’s boys and Cael was the one I couldn’t wait for.
Cael Holland will make you swoon!
One night will turn into something more. One night isn’t enough. One night will change more than just two lives.
I’m not writing much more in my review because this book just needs read by EVERYONE. You will feel all the FEELS!
I honestly think that this was Mrs Jordan’s best book to date. She has outdone herself with this book and I can’t wait for everyone to read this book.
Highly recommended.
**I was given a advanced copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.**
MaryAnn Jordan wrote an amazing series and this book is the third one in the series. I loved Zander and Rafe, and now I love Cael! This book is emotional because it deals with the C word (Cancer). It really touched me because cancer has been in my family in the past a lot. Cael and Regina are great together and the chemistry between them is awesome! It’s such a romantic and emotional story. Of course there was some tension, which was intriguing! Miss Ethel raised her “boys” right and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I definitely recommend it to everyone who loves a good romance with some suspense thrown in.
Once again, Ms. Jordan gives us a story that will touch your hearts.
This story belongs to Cael, one of the boys taken in by foster Mom, Miss Ethel. A woman with a big heart and whose “boys” are now all grown and honorable men.
Regina “Red” is the woman he meets in a bar with the intension of having a one night stand and staying in anonymity. At the beginning it took me a while to get into the book , but once I did, it flowed beautifully.
The story deals with some heartbreaking difficult subjects , all viable in real life. Because of the author’s real life subjects, her books are always touching and heartwarming.
Kudos for another winner in this series.
I voluntarily read this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
