SUBJECT: I’m sorry (Marked Confidential)From the Desk of His Royal Highness Prince RobertAly, I can’t stop thinking about tonight. Why is it that the sex is so good even though we hate each other so much? We say it will never happen again. Still, I can’t resist having you against the wall in our office every time I see you. But tonight I sense that you are serious about us NEVER. HAPPENING. … NEVER. HAPPENING. AGAIN.
You have your new bloke. And I’m…me. The playboy prince. The one not expected to settle down. But staying away from you is already killing me, Aly.
I’m not a good man. But for the first time, I wish I were. Maybe then I’d deserve you. You’re gorgeous. Clever. You call me out on my bulls**t. No one treats me the way you do.
I adore you, sweetheart.
I’m sorry I never had the balls to tell you this to your face. But tonight, it’s the whiskey talking…as they say, a drunk man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts.
xx, Rob
The books in the THORNE MONARCHS series are STANDALONE stories and can be read in any order!

ROYAL ROGUE: Charlie & Jane’s book

Very enjoyable read, great story, interesting characters and guaranteed HEA.
Talk about a timely book! I immediately thought of a certain British Prince who was once a rogue. Maybe this author has some inside information we’re not privy to. I’m only joking. I don’t think this is actually based on that handsome guy but the playboy part of the story did make me think of him.
I don’t do spoilers that’s what blurbs are for and other reviews. I just tell you how the book affected me. So if you find the blurb interesting and like the reviews you read you should buy the book. However, what I will say is that I thought this was a charming story. It made me smile and swoon. It was a story about people and their growth or lack thereof and expectations we put on people as well as expectations we put on ourselves and others. It deals with judgments by ourselves and others and misconceptions.
I didn’t read the first book of the series so I had to fill in a few blanks but it can stand alone.
Rob is certainly swoon worthy, misguided, and a playboy but he’s also charming and sensitive and just cocky enough. Aly is smart, seems a little intractable, adorable, and knows what she wants, or does she?
Watching their story play out brings heat, romance, angst, growth and self discovery. It lives up to the saying,”Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.”
This is my first book by this author. I look forward to reading more of her work.
This is book 2 in the Thorne Monarchs series. I would strongly suggest reading Royal Ruin first.
Aly and Robert’s story hit me kind of hard. Rob has been told all his life that he’s just like his grandfather, who turns out to have been a not so nice guy. It was only words, but they burrowed in so deep that he believed he couldn’t have the love and family that he wanted. Aly is driven to succeed in her business but also to find the one. The fairy tale love that she deserves.
Together, these 2 travel a rocky road but in the end, love wins.
Rob and Aly have a fun and steamy story and I loved it. Rob is such a playboy and I loved reading as he fell hard for Aly. Hot and funny: I definitely recommend.
A great enemies to lovers romance that will pull you in from page one and won’t let go long after you are finished. This book has the perfect mix of all the elements we love in an exceptional romance. You’ll fall head over heels for Rob, the broken hero, and Aly, the workaholic heroine, as they become their best versions of self on their road to forever, and their story is one you won’t soon forget. Scoot on over to the 1-Click and start reading this fantastic story today!
I loved it. Aly meets Rob at her friends home her bf is engaged to his brother a prince. They hit it off in the wrong way but the sexual chemistry is off the charts following her rules they book up for sex in secret never to spend quality with getting to know each other, after 6 months aly decides she had enough of meaningless sex and wants to find the real deal the fairy tale ending, they start realise they have feelings for each other but know they aren’t right together having to plan the wedding for bf/ brother means they have to spend time together it’s on off and misunderstandings hoping that they finally realise they are each other’s happy ending. Great book loved the character’s in it. I’m off to read the first book now of kit and Emily story
Rob looks exactly like his grandfather Alexander. Before his grandfather died he told Rob that he was just like him and I he would never be truly happy with one woman. When he meets Aly Emily’s best friend and owner of EP design they hit it off from the start. Only Aly wants the real deal, the forever after. Can Rob give that? Or will he always be the PlayBoy Prince? Great read
I am such a lover of the enemies to lovers romance and this one was just so good! Ally and Rob they are so nit compatible ….so they think but when a night turns hot and heavy neither one can stop thinking about it. So yes Ally knows that he is so not good for her but she likes the electricity between them ! Rob has been held in the playboy light for so long that he feels that may be what he will always be but Ally well kind of sort of makes him feel that maybe there is something more . Although he feels that he will never be worthy of her!
A sexy, steamy ride of two people that find out more about themselves while they discover one another!!!

After reading Royal Ruin I had to read Royal Rebel. I already liked Rob and Aly while reading part 1 of this series. And now I want to read about Jane and Jack! Please.
London is my favourite city, beside my hometown. I love the interaction between old and new and I found myself wandering through the city while enjoying this story. Roberts and Alys attraction was palpable and hot. I really enjoyed following them while they fell in love. They are great together.
Rebel of Love!
Royal Rebel has all the heat and passion I love in an enemies to lovers romance. There is witty banter, humor, tenderness, and heat packed into this unexpected love story. Jessica Peterson thoroughly fleshes out her characters in a way that enchants the reader. Her words are thought provoking and genuine. As a reader, I empathized and recognized parts of myself in each of her characters. This is a love story that speaks to romantic love as well as, self awareness and acceptance. Learn to embrace who you are and adapt to life’s unexpected gifts.
Robert is sexy and cocky. He has the goods and knows how to use them. The press labels him a playboy and he embraces the facade with gusto. There is so much more to Rob than his handsome exterior. He is intelligent, loyal, observant, empathetic, and funny.
Aly is intelligent, savvy, hardworking, and focused. She has goals and aspirations, that happen to include finding “the one.” In her mind a partner should be dependable, attentive and kind. None of these things scream Rob….at least not at first.
The chemistry and sex between Rob and Aly is sweltering. It will leave you drenched in desire. The passion is intensified by the physical and emotional connection between these two. Royal Rebel is a sincere, enticing, sexy and intoxicating read.
Wow…..I knew that Rob & Aly’s story was going to be amazing, but Royal Rebel was even better than I could have hoped for. I just adored everything about this story – it was perfect for these characters!
From the beginning, I absolutely loved the connection between Rob & Aly. Yes, it may have started out as something purely physical to satisfy needs, but deep down there was always something more between them. There was always that fire, a spark between them that just continued to grow whenever they were around each other. While Rob may not have thought he deserved the same things out of life that Aly wanted & deserved, she always knew there was more to Rob than what he portrayed to the public. Sometimes it just takes a special person to show you that who you thought you were and what you think you are destined to be, is not who you truly are. Mistakes of the past don’t have to haunt you and control your future – you have the power to decide who and what you want out of life.
Prince Robert the badboy playboy prince and the total opposite of his brother and heir to the throne Kit may have finally found his match in Aly. They used to be playmates but now she wants the “real deal” but can Robert be what Aly is looking for? I loved this book and I couldn’t put it down. Aly is perfect for Robert. Lots of laugh out loud moments along with some pretty steamy scenes between them. This can be read as a standalone but for better enjoyment I recommend you read Royal Ruin first. Highly recommend this book!!!
4.5 Royal Robert stars!
There are a lot of royal romances floating around Romancelandia these days and being able to distinguish a series in a sea of the same trope is a big and challenging feat.
The first book in this series, Royal Ruin, was an extremely strong start and Peterson continued to expand the Fling With Kings universe by giving us, Robert and Aly’s book.
Robert is the well endowed wild child of the royal family and taming him is an almost impossible task. and when I say well endowed, I mean he’s that kind of well endowed. All he is interested in is a no string arrangement with Aly. At the beginning of their secret trysts, Aly has no intention of taking their relationship any further than the smoking hot sexy times they have together.
But things always change, don’t they? This was where I truly enjoyed Peterson’s take on the royalty trope. Prince Robert’s growth and transformation was a pleasure to read, his attempts to show Aly that he is capable of more than he has demonstrated previously. Let’s face it, until Aly, Rob has been a player.
Aly struggles with balancing her attraction to Rob and being able to trust him, so he has a long row to hoe with her.
I truly enjoyed Royal Rebel, reading about Aly and Rob learning about themselves and how each other can fit into their lives.
I cannot wait to see what Ms. Peterson has in store for the next royal siblings!
Rob and Aly have an instant attraction but one they don’t think more will ever come from it! Both want different things in life and neither is willing to cave but what happens when attraction does turn to more!?
Amazing enemy to lovers story full of enough angst and steamy scenes to keep you hooked!
In the beginning, Rob and Aly act like strange friends with benefits. They each believe they have to live up to certain expectations put on themselves by themselves or others. Rob doesn’t believe in monogamous relationships, while Aly has determined, she is ready for a family with a husband and children. After “breaking up” although they weren’t dating, they are thrown together as they help plan the wedding for Kit and Emily’s wedding. And Rob figures out that perhaps Aly is what he needs to make his life complete.
This book has a bit of angst, some laughter, some yuck! So gross!, and some steamy sex scenes. I felt that the book took a little bit to suck me in. Perhaps that’s because I did not read the first book in this series, however, this was marketed as a stand-alone and I did not feel completely lost starting with this book.
This book had moments of fun (particularly the emails between Rob and Aly), while showcasing the caring and chemistry between the two. Overall, I enjoyed this book and I think it may be a great read for a younger audience.
I was provided with an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review. I have received no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
Loved this enemies to lovers royal romance! Rob and Aly were so good together – humorous, emotional and loads of steam! It was also great to “see” the royal wedding of Kit and Em, along with a surprise twist. I’m very much looking forward to reading about Jane’s HEA.
I love enemies to lovers stories so much: the passion, the fireworks, the undeniable attraction.
Rob is the Playboy Prince. He loves fast cars and faster women and he’s not looking to settle down. Aly is the opposite of Rob. She’s commitment personified: the newly named CEO of the design company she works for, looking for her HEA. When these two are forced to work together, sparks fly, even though Aly doesn’t like Rob very much. Since his brother and her best friend are getting married, they keep getting pushed together and the sparks keep flying, even though neither of them are looking for what the other is offering.
I am usually a believer that once a player, always a player but Rob is the exception to the rule. Just like his brother, Kit, Rob is all swoon. Granted, he makes mistakes, a lot of them, but once he gets it together, he nails it every time. I loved Aly. She might be one of my favorite characters this year. She’s smart, funny, a fantastic friend. I am hardcore in love with this series and can’t wait to see what comes next for these Royals!!!
