Given to The Grimm Order as an infant, Fawn was raised in a world shaped by the rich and powerful. When she was sold at the age of nine to a Suitor, Fawn believed he would protect her from the “Mainworld”, where those who know nothing about the Order live. Living with the cruel man who bought her freedom, she finds just what the Order is about: money, control, and status for the Owner and … humiliation and abuse for those they own.
Unwilling to accept the expectations of being Owned, Fawn goes from golden girl to maid, content to live in the shadows of the Order as long as she isn’t Owned again.
It’s been ten years since she disgraced her former Owner’s name, and now the brooding Frenchman Elliot Lyon wants her. Master Lyon is kind, smart, and unlike any man she’s met. She doesn’t want to admit it to herself, but Fawn is drawn to him despite constantly planning her next escape.
Even the prettiest flowers have thorns, and Master Lyon is hiding secrets that will uproot everything she thinks she knows about him.

A delicious and different sold to the owner dark romance! Beautifully written and great characters.
This my first book to read by a new arthur and I have to wonder where have I been that I didn’t know about Nikki, but I do now and I’ll be looking into her other book’s as well.
This is the 1st book in The Order series and I have to say the book is kind of slow at first, but not enough it deters from the story. The characters were written really well, and you, as the reader, will be left wondering about the motivations of some of them.
It is a dark story, with little to no romance, so if you are looking for that… well, you’re in the wrong place.
This is just my opinion and my review.
This is actually the first book I’ve read from this author and I’m so glad that I did. Fawn struggles to find her place in her new Master’s and figures out that things aren’t always as they seem.
Nikki Rae is a new indie author to me. The writing is deceptively dark, evocative and emotional. Bloom looks at the characters Fawn, who has been sold into slavery. Within her slavery, Fawn has not had an easy life. She has been sold to a cruel monster and left with scars, both emotional and physical and she is content to live under the radar as a maid. That is until she catches the eye of a new Master, Elliot Lyon. Elliot is very different from Fawn’s last Master, he is kind, smart and wants for the most part to know Fawn’s mind. But not all is what it seems and this story takes you on a sensual journey through Fawn’s new ownership and what that means for her fate.
This book is a really intense read, not only because of the subject matter but also because it has so much descriptive writing in it that you’re trying to follow this beautiful writing whilst trying not to cringe in regards to what Fawn has been though. Fawn is a though provoking character as she has so many layers to her and this book just seems to be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to showing her resilience, strong and character. The same can be said of Elliot who you can never quite put your finger on. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? Who knows but you’re definitely going to enjoy the ride trying to figure it out.
This book is sensual and dark, intriguing and haunting, distressing and tantalizing and if this is what Nikki Rae has to offer as a first book then count me in to the rest of this series and her books in general. Be warned, this book is not for the faint-hearted!
ARC received for a fair and honest review.

I didn’t know what to expect from this series before I started to read it. I didn’t read the blurb. I just read from the beginning and let me tell you, it was nothing I’ve expected.
I wanted to wait until I’ve read the 3rd book (I started reading it today ), but I couldn’t wait to share it with you.
It’s not a story for everyone. It’s a very dark and terrible world of ownership and slavery.
It’s completely different than any other books I’ve read so far. The story is told by the slave, Fawn.
It’s a story about her past, her memories and nightmares.
It’s a story about her uncertain future and the fears associated with it, but above all, a story about overcoming your own fears and your own thoughts.
In a world of the rich and powerful, who plays with their own rules and reign over the world behind the scenes.
I’m really impressed so far.
I can’t wait to discover the rest of the story
An intriguingly dark & twisted new world
—>>> Owned by the Order is all Fawn has known. She is unique in that she is spirited, fierce, unbreakable even when beaten down to nothing, on a near-daily basis. Fawn’s life had changed for the worse after she tried to escape a decade ago, and now she has an unshakeable reputation, an Owned the Order cannot trust or covet any longer. Recently sold to a new Owner, Fawn is subjected to new experiences she is not emotionally equipped to deal with, but she does not ever relinquish her will to survive or to escape her new Master, no matter how much his secrets pull her heart, which started slowly but surely yearning for him more and more every day.
This book is dark, terrifying, and twisted. It is written so well that you can almost believe that you’re IN this world, and that is a terrible thought. I didn’t know exactly what I would find within these pages but when I began reading, I sank further and further into the story. Fawn’s world is dark, terrible, awful, and more, but she never gives up. She has an incredible fighting spirit and I found myself tearing up just a bit. It is so astoundingly surreal that I found myself dreaming about her reality. I definitely recommend this book, but it is not for the faint of heart. 5 stars, 2 thumbs way way up.
What a dark read. This is a first for this author. And I’m in love with this dark twisted read that will have you reading this in one setting. This is a amazing read that will take you on a very dark twisted ride.
The story grabs your attention, leaving you thinking about it even when you aren’t reading. Looking forward to book two!!!
Fawn goes to the meeting hoping it’s like the rest, they see her face, then her body and don’t want her, although the place was hell it was all she knew. She’d gotten away from a cruel master and hoped that she wouldn’t be sold again.
Fawn realised that Master Lyon was nothing like her other master, he was patient and that he didn’t treat her the way she knew most masters did, he gave her choices, kindness, letting her know punishment would only come when she disobeyed, and once she was punished it wasn’t brought up again.
Master Lyon’s wants to help her get past her fears, and the way she reacts to kindness, Fawn realises how lucky she was to end up with Elliot, is she right or is she worse off then before, will Master Lyon betray her like everyone else in her life has.
Ends in a cliff hanger.
I’m intrigued with this story as we learn when what Fawn has been through at such a young age and how she continues in the present day. Elliot is a man of mystery for a better half of this book but little by little we’re presented with pieces of what’s hidden within, parts of himself that not many are aware of. I won’t give anything away because there’s a cliffhanger at the end and of course I need to know more so I’m jumping straight into book two next. Be warned now that this is a darker read, not everyone has an open mind to all genres and there could be triggers. I myself am open to any and all types. This was a non stop page turner for me.
I fell in love with this story. It’s dark, disturbing, and beautiful. Must read!
This was my first Nikki Rae read and I was not disappointed! Nikki gave us a great dark, and disturbing at times, romance that kept my attention from beginning to end.
Master Lyon, a member of the Order, buys Fawn for reasons that she is unaware of. She is a member of the Compound, and has bern sold previously and fought unsuccessfully to be free. Fawn, against her better judgement, wants to believe that Master Lyon is truly going to save her from the life she has indured, but their story is yet to be determined in book 2.
This story, was well detailed and the characters were captivating. As noted by the author, this story is a dark romance and has some disturbing triggers that some may not want to read. This story also ends in a cliffhanger But if you enjoy a good dark romance, you will find this an interesting read that will make you read book 2.
This is an intriguing book. The author does a good job adding some very unexpected turns and making the reader feel.
The character development was solid for the main characters. I would have liked to see a little more development for the secondary. The world building I felt could have used just a little more work because it did take me a bit to get into the book. However, once it grabbed me it kept me captivated. I deducted one star for both character development and world building.
There’s definitely some excellent darkness, mystery and twists. The storyline is engaging once it fully caught my attention. I’m excited to read book 2.
4 stars for intrigue and the unexpected. Recommend.
Nikki Rae is a new author to me, but upon reading the blurb for Bloom I was immediately intrigued by the dark and sinister world and the cult situation – I must say it was a great read for me, thoroughly intriguing, captivating, dark and brutal!!
Fawn is one of the children given to The Order and purchased by a Master at 9yrs old, but she rebelled against him and would not bend to his will, runs away but is captured and taken back into her old Compound, shunned and disgraced and used as a maid to the other girls in training, until a new Master appears on the scene and buys her.
Master Lyon takes her back to his home, but he is so much different from her previous Master she is thrown for a loop, unsure of what to do with herself, whether to run or accept her fate.
Of course things are not quite what they seem to be as Fawn thinks everything is just too good to be true. The ending I didn’t see coming and really now can’t wait for book 2.
A great read, compelling, mesmerizing, though not for the faint hearted, it is a disturbing read so be warned.
*Bloom* by Nikki Rae
It’s been about a month ago since I have read this book. This book is one that I have been thinking about for the last month. Tank didn’t read it with me as he needs to protect his innocence.
I don’t even know where to start with this book! It was described as a romance possibly a little bit of a dark romance. Yet, it’s so much more than the guy and the girl get together and have a lot of make out sessions.
What is this book about, you may ask?
Well, there is a secret society (the Order) that runs the world. Think of free masons, but much more elite. The higher ups in this society control the lesser people by using the Grimm tales. The Order has convents that house boys or girls to be sold to the highest bidder. This is where Fawn comes in. She was once a preened little girl who was sold to a very rich man, but then she escaped him. Fawn was eventually caught and returned to the convent. Now that she had gotten a taste of freedom, that is always on her mind. She thinks she is one step ahead of her captors, until she is bought by a sexy Frenchman. Then, her world is turned upside down. I can’t tell you much more without ruining the story.
The story is so sensual you may want to be in a quiet room by yourself! The way Nikki Rae describes the Frenchman makes me want one for myself. There is definitely some collars and chains, maybe a little roughing up, and a quite a bit of make up! What really sold me on this book was how it ended. It was a total surprise that made me sad I didn’t have the second book to read!
