Wine Thief by Mary Billiter is a 5-Star romantic book. I love this author and her writing style, it feels like a hallmark movie playing in my head.
The characters in this book are great and very easy to fall in love with. I like how Chloe had the courage to just pack up and start over somewhere else. Tony on the other hand at first had me weary because I knew he was only there to steal the winery’s secrets, but of course there comes love.
This book has romance, mystery and had me feeling all kinds of emotions. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I have read the books before this and it is 100% with reading them all. Mary has such a fantastic writing style and she hasn’t disappointed me yet!
Wine Thief by Mary Billiter is book five in the Resort Romance series. I love that this is a stand-alone series but you can’t just read one of them! I am a wine lover so I was really excited about this particular book in the series! I can’t get over how descriptive Mary Billiter is when writing her books. It really feels like you’re there with her amazing characters! I can’t wait to read book six!
Wine Thief is book 5 in the Resort Romances series by author Mary Billiter. This is my 4th read in this series, but having missed Book 3 in this series, these books can be read as stand alone. These books flowed as books on their own and didn’t need the others to support them, it did take me a while to get totally engrossed into this book, but eventually I was hooked.
This is a brilliant read, that flows and keeps you engaged until the end! This author continues to creates stories which are real, believable and relatable. Along with that she creates amazing characters that are also relatable and real. This book not only has a romance between two great characters but it also has great mystery elements entwined into the story. This book is also filled with humor, a high lot of emotions, friendships and new beginnings.
This book does offer a lot of information about wine, and winemaking and for someone who doesn’t drink it got a little boring at some points, but that being said it doesn’t take them away the great storyline between Chloe and Tony. These two characters in I believe met at the right moment in each other’s lives when they both needed someone in their lives which turns out to be during each of their trips.
This is a great read that should be experienced by others as I dont want to give to much away in my review. But that being said it’s a great read again from this author that shouldn’t be missed.
Wine Thief is a contemporary romance by Mary Billiter and the fifth book in the Resort Romance series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Chloe is trying to start over, it’s been three years since her husband passed away and she needs a fresh start. She moves to Napa to be closer to her sister and takes a job as a wine educator at the Napa Valley Point Resort. To learn more about the wine Chloe takes a wine train tour with her sister where she meets Tony. Tony has convinced his friends to move the bachelor party to Napa because he has a job to do, find out Point Resort’s secret to their flavorful wine for a rival. Will Tony abort his mission or will Chloe have her heart broken again? I really enjoyed this story, it’s probably my favorite of the series so far. I loved Chloe and became really invested in her story and hoping for a happily ever after for her. While I did find all the info about wine informative I did find myself skimming through a lot of it to get back to the story (I am not a wine drinker lol), but over all the story flowed well, with loveable characters and just enough mystery to keep me turning the pages!
Wine Thief
By Mary Billiter
Romance and a little mystery is this books theme. This is a standalone and a full novel.
Chloe Dorsey is a smart educated woman. After changing her life and moving from Southern California, to Northern California. She is closer to her sister and the beautiful wine country. As with her life, it’s a struggle. One she is willing to work through. Working at a winery is definitely a change as well as a challenge.
Tony Mahoney is on a mission himself. One he must not share. He is only at the winery and hotel for a month. His objective is not the girl. It’s to find the Mother Vine that two wineries are fighting for. He must steal the secret of a lifetime. Can he do so without getting caught?
Mary Billiter has become a favorite in the mystery romance. Her stories are real page turners. Her characters are loveable, as well as just everyday people. What I enjoy about her story is the emotional Rollercoaster I was on. I laughed, cried and even got mad. She never disappoints. Looking forward to the next book by this author.
I give Wine Thief by Mary Billiter, 4 stars.
This is another hit from this author! Chloe needs to start over, a place where she isn’t constantly reminded. So she moves from sunny California to wine country Northern California and takes a job as a wine educator. This is the opposite of what she’s done in the past, but she needs this. On a wine train trip to educate her more, she meets Tony.
Tony is on this wine trip, heading towards the hotel where he is supposed to uncover their wine secrets. He cannot let anyone know, but that’s easy. This is what he does for a living — uncovering deep secrets. But it’s different this time. He finds out Chloe works at this same hotel. Now he needs to decide whether to follow his heart of his brain.
This is a cute romance done in the style of other romances by this author. The characters are believable and well written. The story is interesting and will keep you reading until the very end. It is fun too, the story does not take itself too seriously. This makes it all the more enjoyable.
If you are a fan of modern day romances that are fun and interesting, I highly recommend this book and the others in this series.
I have read multiple books by this author and it never gets old. There is always new and interesting things to read about! I love the flow of the writing. I like how the characters come together in the story. I thought this book was very cute and kind of thrilling will all that was going on. When I looked at the title I was thinking something else but it fits the story well! If you love mystery then this author and book is for you! I’m going to keep my eye out for more books!
WINE THIEF by Mary Billiter is one of those books that surprised me with how much I liked it. Don’t get me wrong, I have absolutely enjoyed this author’s other stories, but based on the blurb I thought this was going to be different than it was.
WINE THIEF: Noun. (Plural wine thieves) A pipette used to remove small amounts of wine from a cask in order to taste or test it.* In addition to the device, I learned so much more from this intriguing story. It is full of wonderful information about wine making and Napa Valley, I now want to tour a vineyard and I don’t drink. In addition to educating about wine, this story had humor, emotions, friendships and family, and new beginnings. Both protagonists were at a crossroads in their lives and were navigating new feelings and territory. I would love to tell you more about this story, but I don’t want to take away from your experience.
If you like a book that educates, has mystery and romance, I absolutely recommend this story. Oh, I also recommend having a tissue or two handy – trust me.
