Earth Girls Aren’t Easy. Who knew?Meet the King of Zenithia, Xyib*eepthxnin. If you think his name is difficult to pronounce, his thick alien staff is even harder to choke down. X’s search for a docile breedmate leads him to California because he knows Earth Girls Are Easy. Then he meets Prairie. Docile and easy? Doubtful. Prairie . . . don’t let the innocent name fool you. This street girl knows …
Prairie . . . don’t let the innocent name fool you. This street girl knows a scam when she sees one, and she’s pretty sure X is either a serial killer or an escapee from the psych ward. The thing is, she’s running from trouble of her own and he’s so smoking hot she figures why not?
Praire’s just along for the galactic ride until she figures out X isn’t alien-spoofing her. After her introduction to smoldering cross-species sex and the king’s sweeter side, Prairie has a choice to make. Should she stay or should she go?
The decision is taken out of her hands when one particular challenge for X’s love ends with her life in peril.

I personally am not a huge fan of science fiction romances and was a little sceptical as I started reading. I really love most of what I have previously read from Rie Warren, so I was willing to give Taming the Alien a chance. I feel the beginning of the story where X and Prairie meet was a little rushed and unbelievable – but again – were talking Aliens, so there you have it. Once they return to his planet, the plot begins to fill out and becomes interesting. Rie sets the stage for the following installments in the series by introducing X’s family and his guards and the plot twist.
If you’re looking for a fun, light, quick read with LOTS of heat, then be sure to grab a copy of Taming the Alien. Rie will not let you down. * received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
When I heard Ms. Warren had a new series coming out, I was all gimme-gimme-gimme. I’ve read all of her series and was ready to sink my teeth into something new, something different. Sexy aliens, an SFR story…sign me up. I started reading and then…oh boy.
Let me start by saying I did like Taming the Alien King. It was fun, sassy, sexy and just enough adventure to keep the story from being complete porn. Xyib*eepthxnin (Gesundheit!), the King of Zenithia, makes a good king. He heads to Earth to find a breedmate. Sexy and macho there is a softer side to him, but it’s not in his pants. Now Prairie, she is quite the spitfire and more than a match for X and his world. She’s in a bad spot on and when X gives her the offer of a lifetime, well she certainly isn’t going to pass up. And then she finds out he really is an alien, a king at that. Things are about to get interesting!
Soooo…yeah. I’m waffling on the fence here. Yes, I like the story. It wasn’t too alien, had plenty of hot sex and the characters are completely likable. There even a bit of an unanswered whodunit that I anticipate will run through the series keeping me guessing until the end. It’s hard to not like Ms. Warren’s stories. And therein lays my problem. It felt too familiar, too much like the CBB series, just with aliens instead of bikers. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good series. I was just hoping a whole new experience. For now, I’m going to shelve my disappointment and keep reading the Intergalactic Lurve Series because darn it all, I need to know who the secret bad guy is.

I haven’t read a sci-fi romance book in a long time. I saw this one and thought I would give it a shot. It’s a good short read. X is the King of Zenithia. He’s a strong alpha. He’s an alien and comes to earth to find a mate. His adventure using Tinder to try to find his mate was funny. Prairie is a strong girl. Her path crosses with X and next thing we know she heading off to Zenithia with him. She’s sassy and sometimes doesn’t have a filter. Their relationship moves quickly but it fit perfectly. This one is a super sexy read but it also has some funny parts too.
This book is a perfect example of loving what you do and having fun with it. Bravo Rie Warren!
Is it literary genius, no…is it funny, heartwarming, entertaining alien lurve, you bet.
Need something light and drool-worthy, ha! Go check out X !

Alien stories are not an automatic read for me, but every so often one comes along that I cannot resist! This one is fabulous and hopefully the following two in the series will be too.
The skill the writer needs in an alien story, for me, is to make it sufficiently romantic that I can envision the scene, yet also contain elements which make me laugh at the crazy. Here we have human Prairie, who has such wonderful turns of phrase that it is impossible not to laugh with her and is the perfect level of feisty. X manages to be perfectly enamoured with her, and patient though desperately horny. Add in the guards, and their desires, his brother (who has a special feature, or two), and some great alien movie references as well, and it is fast paced, super sexy and wonderfully crazy funny.
Highly entertaining – recommended reading for anyone who needs cheering up.

I’m not a huge Sci-Fi fan but am a huge Rie Warren fan so I went in to this one with high hopes. It’s a solid four-star read. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the heroine, Prairie, she was a little immature, but I love X and they balanced one another!
X is the king of the planet Zenithia and he’s decided to find a mate on earth, where he meets Prairie. From the moment X lays eyes on Prairie, he’s claimed her as his queen and though it takes a little convincing, the pair head back to Zenithia, as Prairie has agreed to allow X seven days to woo her into staying. Prairie is very confused, of course, by this new planet but has a fierce attitude about the whole thing and takes each crazy thing thrown her way in stride.
Things progress very, very quickly for the two main characters – to be expected with such a short read. Their attraction is off the charts and the sexy time in this book is HOT. I love that Rie Warren was able to pack a whole love story into such a short, quick read. Definitely looking forward to the next book in the series! Actually, I’m even more excited about the prospect of getting X’s guards stories, they’re hilarious and I look forward to seeing more of them in future books!

I love alien romance, so I was excited to get sucked into this one.
I enjoyed Prairie in this story, she is a “say it as you see it” type of girl and she didn’t take much rubbish. The relationship between her and X happens quickly, the attraction between them was smoking hot.
Here lies my problem though, X is too human for me; what I mean by this is the way he spoke and the way he acted at times was more human than alien. I would have liked him to have more of an otherworldly feel to him.
However, it was a quick read and I enjoyed it.

Hilarious, sweet, extra(terrestrial) HOT! Taming The Alien King is a whirlwind sci-fi romance that had me both laughing and reaching for a fan. As a huge fan of sci-fi romance I tend to love everything from the very serious to the light hearted fun, but I’ll be the first to admit great sci-fi romance is hard to find. If you’re on the hunt for a smokin’ hot alien and looking to get some giggles in on the adventure this book is your treasure.
Between Prairie’s sassy personality and X’s impossible to pronounce name (ask me about the fun I had trying to figure out how to say that name out loud lol!) I was cracking up from the very start. Rie Warren has some of the best humor packed into this book with all the sweetness and heat! Speaking of that heat, whew! X and Prairie certainly know how to melt the pages with their chemistry. The book was a blast to read and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one! That BOGO deal is one I don’t want to miss 😉
