“I wanted to show her what it felt like to live, because showing her was reminding me.”
I’m really enjoying the Riffraff Records series, which in my head is Devil’s Share Spawn, whether she calls it that or not, LOL. I fell in love with the original rockers and have since welcomed their wives, kids and the talent they represent through Riffraff Records. It just keeps growing and that makes me very happy because I don’t ever want it to end.
I confess, when I heard that one of the rockers had twin boys, Cash & Crue, I was visualizing them in the music industry. Even their names give that vibe, right? But their final career is not determined yet as they are still in school and baseball is their thing right now. The success of their parents have afforded them financial security, but it has also been a media nightmare. For that reason, the parents all decided to buy property together and build homes, creating their own ‘compound’ so that they could stay near each other and keep their kids ‘off the grid’. This arrangement assured their safety and kept the families together, allowing the spawn to build unbreakable bonds that might be even a little too tight. With so much ‘backup’ available to them, the parents were outnumbered and their escapades escalated to the point that keeping secrets became the norm.
I found it highly amusing to see how much sneaking around the spawn managed to accomplish without the parents having a clue. When I learned that Katie was being banished to the compound I snickered to myself, fully aware of what was in store for her. She was fixin’ to get an education on how to have fun and look innocent doing it.
Cash is a natural caregiver. I’d seen how supportive he was with his twin and his cousins. They all knew they could depend on him, to the point that he tended to get taken advantage of. Even he knew that Crue was asking a lot of him, but he cared so much that it was hard for him to say no. When he got a glimpse of Katie, for the first time, what he wanted for himself became his focus. She became his focus. He could not take his eyes off of her, and he had no idea who she was. His best friend, Benson, told him, “You keep staring at her like that and her clothes are gonna catch fire.”
Well, I’ve set the stage for you, and it only gets better from there. Cash set his sights on her and determines to show her what she’s been missing. He wants to be involved in all of her firsts, writing them down and then checking them off one at a time. Falling in love wasn’t on the list… but it should have been.
What I really love when reading each story in this series is that I get a peek into the lives of the other characters too. The author tends to tease her readers with behind-the-scenes details about other character’s lives. Just enough to intrigue us and have us speculating on what is to come. Leaving us anxious with anticipation as we count down the days until we get our hands on the next installment. The line forms here…

Loyalty is the story of Cash and Katie. Cash has been living a lie a huge one for his brother Crue and he is mad at himself and Crue. Katie you might remember her from the first book Royalty that’s right she all grown up and he father kicked her off tour with him. Mason banish her to the Devil’s Share compound. He thinks she will be watched carefully needless does he know, she is going to spread her wings and fly. Katie catches Cash’s eye, she wasn’t planning on falling, but when she finds out about Cash’s secret will it destroy them.
First Cash I have loved him since the book Legacy and feel really bad for him. He loves his brother hard, how can he not they are twins. The secret though is destroying him, and Crue his brother needs a slap on the back of his head. Katie poor girl her life started from a tragic beginning and has followed her throughout her life. Mason shelters her so much and you feel for her. I enjoyed going through her journey of having fun and getting to be free. You know it you get to see all the cousins and the parents. If you want a story about real young true love this one is for you!
