A Baby For The Minister is my first book by Laurel Blount. I really enjoyed reading the story of Natalie and Jacob. I love her determination to push forward despite all her obstacles and how he was there to help her from the moment she was left at the alter. It’s a beautiful story about love and acceptance. Overall I give this book five stars ad I will be following this author to read more of her books.
I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, which I received from JustRead Tour Blind Tour (blind date with a book). All views expressed are my honest opinion.
A baby for the Minister
Once I started reading this book I did not want to stop reading. The characters seem to come alive. Jacob is a Minister and is determined to help Natalie after her groom left her. There was one character that I did not like, he wanted to run things at church. When you read the book you will know what I mean. The goat in the book was so cute. This was my first book by Laurel Blount and definitely will not be my last. I really enjoyed her writing.
Delightful!
My rating is 4.5 stars
Natalie had felt judged by people in the church her entire life! First for her poverty, then for choices she made before she was a Christian!! So while she loved the Lord and followed him, she was hesitant to set foot in a church – even to get married.
I loved Jacob’s heart for ministry. It was so sweet that everyone in town felt that they owed him kindness and favors for ways he has ministered to them. He was so non-judgemental of Natalie and the way he accepted baby Ethan – and fell in love with him from the start! – was precious.
Jacob had a past, as well, though he hadn’t kept it a secret. When appropriate, he shared with members of his congregation. I really appreciated that. While secrets can add a great suspense element to stories, they also drive me crazy!!
There was a great mix of romance, tension, and small-town. Oh, and humor with Rufus the goat. In fact, he was a great character himself and the way his problem was resolved was perfect and unexpected!
If you enjoy sweet, small town romance with faith elements woven in, I recommend A Baby for the Minister.

I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
A Baby for the Minister is a wonderful romance. I just love Jacob’s character and “just happened to owe me a favor” attitude 🙂 Laurel Blount writes a charming tale of love, loss, and joy with an expert hand.
“This time, the warmth of his smile went right up into his sea-blue eyes. She felt her battered heart flip over and fluff up like a freshly turned pancake.”
A Baby for the Minister by Laurel Blount is a Love Inspired Romance. Natalie Davis is left at the altar. With no one to turn to, Pastor Jacob Stone steps in to help the soon-to-be-mom. Being a new Christian, Natalie is sorry for her past life, but some people won’t let her forget it. When pastor Stone tries to help, against the wishes of his congregation, he may just lose his job. This was a cute little story with a big message! There are consequences for your actions but there is also forgiveness. Who are we to judge? We must show Christ’s love to the world. I really enjoyed this book!
I received this book from JustReads Tours for my honest review.
This was my first matchup in the JustRead tours Blind Tours. A blind date with a book! And it was a match made in heaven! This was a new to me author, and I will definitely be reading more of her books! I loved this book so much! My heart broke for Natalie, I kept wanting to reach through the pages and give her a hug and tell her how much her determination inspired me! And, Jacob, wow what an awesome hero! Every single selfless and generous thing he did for Natalie made me fall a little more in love with him, and totally melted me into a puddle! It’s safe to say that I have a bit of a crush on him!
Add in an adorable baby, a great cast of supporting characters, and a cantankerous Houdini of a goat, and you have one surefire winner of a story!
Before this book it had been ages since I last read a Love Inspired contemporary romance, and I had forgotten how much I love these stories and how happy they make me!
Overall, this story was an absolute joy to read and I loved everything about it! I highly recommend A Baby for the Minister, and am eagerly anticipating my next visit to Pine Valley, Georgia!
I received a copy of this book from the author. Which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own!
A great story of love, patience and faith. Laurel Blount takes you to the small town of Pine Valley where everyone knows everyone and your business is their business. There is so much humor intertwined with love. And did I mention Rufus, the goat? A wonderful story to read!
