Sophie Honeywell always wondered if Thomas Gordon was the one she let get away. He was the perfect boyfriend, but on the day he was to propose, she broke his heart. A year later he married his travel agent, while Sophie has been mortifyingly single ever since. Now Thomas is back in her life because Sophie has unexpectedly inherited his aunt Connie’s house on Scribbly Gum Island — home of the … famously unsolved MunroBabymystery.
Sophie moves onto the island and begins a new life as part of an unconventional family where it seems everyone has a secret. Grace, a beautiful young mother, is feverishly planning a shocking escape from her perfect life. Margie, a frumpy housewife, has made a pact with a stranger, while dreamy Aunt Rose wonders if maybe it’s about time she started making her own decisions.
As Sophie’s life becomes increasingly complicated, she discovers that sometimes you have to stop waiting around — and come up with your own fairy-tale ending.
As she so adroitly did in her smashing debut novel, Three Wishes, the incomparable Liane Moriarty once again combines sharp wit, lovable and eccentric characters, and a page-turning story for an unforgettable Last Anniversary.

Miss everyone.
Moriarty is an excellent writer and on my short list of “read everything she writes.” Enough said!!!
I love the characters in this book! They were interesting & very original with great storylines. Smart, funny writing with unexpected twists.
Liane Moriarty is one of my favorite authors and this book is wonderful, like her others. I look forward to reading it again and waiting for the next one!!!
It seemed I had to drag myself to the end of the book. I would not recommend it.
I thought this book very strange. I’m going to finish it but can’t recommend it.
I admit I read this awhile ago, but it’s Liane Moriarty, so need I say more, never read a book by her I didn’t like. Speaking of which, if there is going to be a season 2 of Big Little Lies, I can understand, if not, it should be time for another book, just saying!!!
I loved this book. It was unexpected, unusual, with original characters that kept you guessing how it would turn out. It was a good mystery and there is always something new to discover in every chapter.
The story dragged through the first 2/3, but the resolution of conflict was interesting at the end.
Poor Sophie never seems to be a le to find the right man. This is a great read about secrets, depression, jealousy, and family. A family secret is at the heart of this family- and a mystery. Great read.
The characters were strong and the mystery carried me through to the ending which was surprising.
Relatable characters. Made me smile to read their thoughts and think, “ So others really do think that way also.”
As with her book “Big Little Lies” this book was a real page turner Good entertaining read.
Some of the characters are a little off the wall, but the way it all fits together in the end is very well done. Lovely story about a lovely place to live.
Interesting “mystery” told from several characters’ points of view. While I had several different theories as I was reading I didnt guess the resolution until very close to the end.
Moriarty never fails to entertain me. Her techniques of using many POVs and releasing tiny bits of information in each chapter kept me on the edge of my seat. The Last Anniversary uses these techniques to create a rolicking tale of lies, family squabbles, intrigue and everyday problems. As in all of her book, Moriarty sprinkles clues and odd …

I tried to read this book before, about two years ago, and didn’t finish. This month, it is the BOTM in one of my favorite book groups so I’d figure I would give it another shot. Again, I found the plot slow and the character development to be overkill, taking up the first half of the book just reading each character’s perspective on every …
