A desperate underground war with the survival of millions at stake looms in the electrifying conclusion of the New York Times bestselling Bishop Files Trilogy.Tasha Solomon’s world turned upside-down when the psychic abilities she had tried so hard to live with in secret suddenly made her a target stalked by unseen enemies. John Brodie is by nature, by training, and by instinct a Guardian. He is … and by instinct a Guardian. He is a member of an intricate and secretive network of individuals who have devoted their lives to the deadly struggle of saving psychics in danger of being taken or being killed. It is a war very few other people even know exists, and yet its tentacles stretch deeply and dangerously into every aspect of society.
Tasha has abilities not even she is aware of, abilities that the other side would give virtually all they possess to destroy. And if being hunted like an animal were not bad enough she has to learn how to become a warrior in a battle she did not choose, to save people she does not know, and possibly even the very world around her.
If John Brodie can keep her alive long enough.

This book is the least favoirte of the books in the series. I love the SCU group and the characters as they introduced and becoming part of the fold with Bishop and Miranda. This story of Tasha Solomon and her Guardian John Brodie just felt flat for me. I also did not care for Murphy and Duran storyline in this book. Sadly this book was just OK.
Kay Hooper’s finale to her Bishop Files trilogy is absolutely spine-tingling! In this tale, the good psychics must battle against those who are trying to take over the earth, and not in a good way. Murphy is a leader of the forces for good and is a very intelligent and sympathetic character. Bishop and Miranda, the star actors in many of Hooper’s other books, seem to only have a cameo appearance in this one, but it is a really good one! My favorite character was Tasha, a psychic just becoming aware of all of her abilities and forced to fight evil. I enjoyed how the story rolled seamlessly to the inevitable conclusion, a fight of good versus evil. I also enjoyed the story of how saving pregnant mothers became a priority for Bishop, MIranda and Murphy. This was a stunning conclusion to the series and a must-read for fans of Hooper. I have read other Bishop books, but not the Bishop files; nevertheless, I was able to follow the plot well and quickly became involved in the story. This is a super book for the fans of the other Bishop books; it is both mesmerizing and mysterious, involving factions fighting for the right to survive. The ending was a real shocker, one that I certainly did not see coming but one that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The conclusion is the best out of the 3 books. Boy is it a page turner and more. The things that are reveled WOW. To find death in the most unexpected place and for a physic to feel the pain of those deaths even though those who died are not even born yet. What a great ending to the series.
I adore Kay Hooper and the Bishop/SCU/Haven stories. That being said, these Bishop Files novels don’t seem to have the same….punch, if you will, as the main stories. This was a disappointing end to the trilogy, and a disappointing installment in the Bishop/SCU universe.
Almost the entire book is the characters talking. Explaining what happened over the last two books and why, explaining what’s going to happen and why, explaining what they need to do to end the “war.” SO.MUCH.TALKING. Even when action moments took place, they were over far too quickly, and then – you guessed it – back to talking, because evidently they found it necessary to dissect every little moment. Not even Bishop or Miranda were excluded from this overly descriptive narrative. At this point in the series, did we really need a rehash of what everyone’s powers/abilities are?
The ending of this book made me say “What?? UGH. That’s how it’s ending?”
Looking forward to eventually returning to the main SCU storyline.
I just cannot get through this book. I keep leaving it to go read something with something actually happening. Boring.
I love this series. A lot of questions are answered in this book. If you enjoy any books in this series you will love this one.
This is the final book in the Bishop Files trilogy. It has such an private twisty plot that it kept me turning pages from the beginning.wish
The first two books didn’t come right out and say alien a way be involved in some way, b it I had my suspicions. The how, why, and even who for alien involvement was not what I expected though.
I think these books should be read in order. I really enjoyed this trilogy.
This should satisfy anyone who reads Kay Hooper.
