When Diana messes with the wrong car and gets caught, she is horrified. Tobis, a dominant, offers her a totally different way to pay back her debt to him. She reluctantly agrees and enters a whole new world in Tobis’s club! She has never had much luck with men but Tobis is different. He’s understanding, patient and very caring towards her special needs son. This story just drew me in and I stayed up late reading it. Beatrice, her best friend, was so funny and provided a lot of comic relief! Hopefully she will get a story in the series also. This new series starts off with a bang as a serial killer is on the lose and seems to be targeting submissives. Tobis tries his best to keep Diana safe but can he? Or will the killer get to her? Can’t wait for the next book!
Amidst trying to catch a serial rapist, dealing wiith a special needs eight year old, an idiot ex-husband, a crazy best friend and running a BDSM club, Tobias and Diana meet, start D/srelationship and fall in love. His need for control gives her the freedom to let go when everything crashes down around her.
The first book in a new Dom series by Jane Henry , this one taking place in the BDSM club Verge in NY.
Diana meets Tobias when she is keying his car. Not the smartest move to make in front of a stern Dom. And Doms have their own way of dealing with things.
Diana was strong, sassy, but her past did leave scars. She is also an amazing kickass single mom to a special need kid.
Tobias is an amazing character. Patient, loving, but strict when needed. And I loved his relationship with Diana’s son Chad. It was wonderful to read.
Diana and Tobias interaction together made me laugh, got me all hot and bothered and also made me go aaah.
It is great start of a new series and I can’t wait to read the next book.
Book #1, NYC Doms – WOW! Jane Henry’s done it again with the beginning of a new series that will blow you away!
When Diana, drunk and infuriated, shows up at her ex-boyfriend’s silver Maserati, keying the beautiful car makes perfect sense. That is, until a tall, dark, and handsome man storms out of the building in front of the car. Oops! Wrong car! Tobias Creed’s more than angry. Who’s this crazy woman? As he pulls Diana into Verge, his BDSM club, he’s determined to get answers. But Tobias has no clue what he’s about to get into. Diana’s as fiery and uncontrollable as they come. Tobias is a dominant…totally in control, demanding, unyielding. Despite their differences, there’s a magnetism these two can’t deny. But all too soon, the car and their mutual attraction become the least of their worries. There’s a criminal on the loose, one who’s assaulting and raping women, implicating Verge in the process. As Diana and Tobias fight the inexorable pull drawing them together, Diana realizes getting close to Tobias is dangerous, in more ways than one. Her son, Chad, a special needs child, takes to Tobias in a way that has the potential to irreparably harm him as well. As events swirl out of control, Verge is put front and center in the crime spree. Diana and Tobias are immersed in a maelstrom of emotions that could upend their lives and devastate all around them. When Tobias makes intolerable demands, Diana has to make the hardest decision of her life. There are too many questions and not enough answers. Who’s behind the assaults? There’s a seemingly endless supply of suspects. Can Verge truly be the common thread? What about Tobias? What’s his role in all this? When Diana’s put in mortal danger, it all comes down to one thing. Just exactly how much trust will it take? Because, in the end, trust is the only thing that can keep everything at stake from destruction.
I loved this book! Diana and Tobias are utterly fascinating. When they meet, you couldn’t find two more opposite people. Tobias is stern, unrelenting, the epitome of dominance. Diana is feisty, independent, the ultimate challenge to Tobias. But beneath the outward appearances lie two flawed, damaged people whose complexity makes this story exceptional. Jane Henry has done a superb job of showing the humanity beneath the surface of both these characters. And while I was enthralled with Tobias and Diana, the BDSM, and the mystery and danger that are all woven into the storyline, Chad absolutely hooked me. Jane Henry’s depth of knowledge of what’s needed to raise a special needs child and the emotional and physical demands on the parent are nothing short of amazing. She demonstrates astonishing insight. And the other supporting characters? Without them, the story would have been incomplete. Jane Henry has written an outstanding beginning to a new series that’s engaging and delightful. The sequel can’t come soon enough for me. I can’t give Deliverance anything less than five stars! Thank you, Ms. Henry, for again showing us just how brilliant an author you are!
One final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don’t enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON’T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON’T ENJOY THE BOOK. It’s not fair to the author! She works very hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you’ll object to the book’s subject matter before you buy it, you’re doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!
I might have squealed a little when Jane Henry’s “Deliverance” arrived. As the first in the new NYC Doms series, she set the bar high with Diana and Tobias.
Likes: I had to laugh at how the story begins because that has to be one of the worst AND best ways to meet a Dom. I really enjoyed how well Tobias interacted with Chad. Diana is all sorts of feisty in all the right ways. There is instalove going on but it works in this story and doesn’t come across as contrived. And of course, meeting all the different characters that I hope will be gracing the pages of their own books soon.
Dislikes: How long are we going to have to wait for story 2?
The story has a bit of everything including suspense and tragedy; and then there are the spankings. Mmmmm….
Jane Henry brought us some great doms in other series she has written, and she’s living up to herself in this book. We have an uber alpha Dom, a feisty woman who isn’t sure about this whole BDSM thing, a kid with special needs, and oh yeah, a really nasty bad guy. The story exists on many levels and works really well as a whole.
When Diana leaves yet another failed relationship, she goes out with her best friend Beatrice and gets drunk. While she’s drunk, she decides that she’s going to key the douchebag’s car. He drives a really nice Maserati, so it will totally be worth it. The only problem? The car she keys doesn’t belong to her ex, it belongs to Tobias, Dom extraordinaire and owner of Verge, an exclusive BDSM club in NYC. When he comes out and finds her, he drags her into the club so that they can talk.
Tobias is furious that Diana has vandalized his car. She tells him that she will pay for it and then tries to get away from him. She wants to go home so that she’s there for her son, who is autistic. But then Tobias has to put Verge on lockdown and she’s not going anywhere.
I really enjoyed this story and all the various levels and layers and sub-stories in it. Heh, no pun intended, really. Anyhow, Jane did put a lot into this story, but didn’t overwhelm the story, which can be a really hard line to walk, but she did that really, really well. On a personal note, I have a son who is on the spectrum and it was really nice to see a positive representation of a kid who is autistic in a book, without the stereotypes. It was also nice to see a realistic representation of what a single mom of a kid who is autistic is like. So, really well done there. Completely enjoyed that.
I’m betting I can guess who the characters in the next book will be. I’m not saying because I don’t want to spoil, but when you read the book, you can guess too.
