For once, I’d like to have a life that is planned out by me and not the people or ordeals that clash with the life I want.
Chase
My life was what I wanted until the night I found out I was a father. Being a foster child doesn’t always give you the warm and fuzzies about having a family. I’m a member of the Southern Chaotic’s MC. All I wanted was to ride with my brothers, drink myself into oblivion and find a warm body of the female variety to spend a few hours with. Now, I have a kid that is anything but the fun loving kid he should be after being abused by his mother. Learning to be a dad and deal with all the conflicts that rattle my kid is frustrating on its own, but add in the curvaceous blonde that has been placed in my path and life is anything but delightful. She tries my patience and unmans me without even knowing.
For once, I’d like to have my life back to the way it was with the addition of a healthy and happy kid.
This is a standalone book, but to better understand some of the situations you should read the first book Minor Glitches. This book is meant for an audience 18 and older. There are some scenes that may not be suitable for some readers.

If you have abuse triggers, know ahead of time that there could be a situation or two that might make you uncomfortable. Lily was in a mentally abusive marriage with a man who continually cheated on her. When she came home early to fix an anniversary dinner and found him having sex on their dining room table with a woman, that became the last straw. Since her dad was part of the Southern Chaotic family back in the day before he was killed, she ran home to build a new life for herself, going home to family was what she did. This is another book that gives you characters and a storyline that will keep your attention throughout the entire book. Truthfully, the HEA at the end just makes you feel good.

When Lily walks in on her husband cheating on her, she leaves him and heads back to her hometown. It’s where her father’s MC is, and she’s glad to be around them after years of a cold, dead-end marriage to an ass like her husband David.
Chase is one of the Southern Chaotic (weird name!) MC brothers. Unfortunately, he rubs Lily the wrong way. He’s a rude, crude absolute manwhore of a guy and when she walks in on him and one of the strippers at the club where she waitresses, one too many times, she’s about had it. To make matters worse, he insults Lily after that incident, while talking to one of his brothers, and it sets the tone of their entire relationship thereafter, where she avoids him and he tries to act like it doesn’t bother him that she doesn’t throw herself at him.
Honestly, I thought Lily treated him a lot better than she should have. He was a disgusting pig, not only his actions, but his words. To him, women were nothing but a convenient vessel of holes for him. Seriously, that is actually something he says. What a freaking misogynist! But then all the sudden, when her husband kidnaps her, he decides he’s going to “claim” her when they get her back. Um what?! Up to that point he didn’t think of her in any way except to note that she wasn’t his type (too curvy) and be annoyed that she didn’t throw herself at him like the rest of the strippers and the club girls. But now all the sudden, she’s gone so he decides she’s his when she’s back. OK…
I liked the story line, I just couldn’t stand Chase and I felt their connection to be really thin. If they hadn’t been in bed every other minute once she got back, I would have sworn they could have cared less for each other the way they did before she got kidnapped the first time. MC romances generally aren’t my thing, and it’s ones like this that make me feel that way. If I am going to read one, I prefer ones with real meat to the stories and where the characters (usually the heroes) do some believable character growth. Here, Chase’s little growth wasn’t believable or understandable.
So, 2.5 stars rounded up because I liked Lily and Jake (Chase’s son) and the basic premise, but not 4 stars because I hated Chase and how disgusting and shallow he was.
