I never thought a pecker would get me in so much trouble.I mean, sure… if you’re talking about a certain anatomical feature of mine that the ladies just love. Given my bachelor status and appreciation for all things curvy and feminine, I could absolutely see that. But a different pecker is making my life much harder than it needs to be.My name is Ford Daniels, partner at the law firm of Knight … law firm of Knight & Payne, and my latest case has me wading through the finer points of peckers—woodpeckers that is. Specifically, the red-cockaded woodpecker. I swear, I can’t make this stuff up but that’s what the sexy-as-hell blonde chained to a tree told me this morning.
Her name is Viveka Jones and she is so much more than a pretty face. She’s got wit, charm, and razor-sharp smarts. Turns out my client is looking to bulldoze the red-cockaded woodpecker’s natural habitat in favor of a multimillion-dollar subdivision and the sexy attorney with legs for days (and days), just happens to be counsel for an animal rights group looking to put a halt to construction.
My client’s pissed, but all I can think about is getting Viveka across the table from me. And then on the table underneath me. Perhaps up against the wall. And then—
Well, let’s just say when it’s all said and done, I’m hoping the red-cockaded woodpecker isn’t the only pecker that gets some attention from Miss Viveka Jones.

I am so happy to finally get a book about too sexy for his own good attorney, Ford Daniels. If you’ve read Sawyer’s Legal Affairs series, you will definitely remember Ford. Ford is a very successful attorney at Knight & Payne, but he currently has a very slimey (and I’m being generous here) client who is a real estate developer. Ford first meets former Swedish model Viveka Jones in the very interesting way she is trying to prevent his client from beginning his latest project. Viveka is now an animal rights attorney and she is trying to save an endangered species of woodpecker.
Once Ford and Viv meet their attraction and chemistry is palpable. They begin a very sexy, steamy, sweet and wonderful affair. This is a bit unusual because they are on opposing sides of this case about the woodpeckers.
Can their relationship become anything more than what it is if they are butting heads in the courtroom? Do they want it to be more?
I could not put this one down; I simply loved it!!!
Absolutely loved this one. Whenever I see a new book by Sawyer Bennett I don’t even have to read the synopsis I already know it’s going to be a great one. The Pecker Briefs are no exception. Two attorneys but so different. One has the plush office and all the perks while the other takes on most cases pro Bono and her office is in a bad part of town. Viveka fights for animal rights with a love and passion. She is not in it for the glory but to be the “voice” of these animals. The one thing I loved about Ford and Viveka’s relationship was they never let their job come between them. In the courtroom they worked on opposite sides but outside they were both on the same side so to speak. Their story grabbed you on both sides, You couldn’t wait to see who would win the case and you couldn’t get enough of their chemistry. Their story had you anticipating every turn of the page. Such strong characters. A true 5 star story by a true 5 star author.
Sawyer Bennett can write one heck of a series! I love her Cold Fury & Legal Affairs series so much!
Ahhh Ford, if you’ve read Legal Affairs, you may remember Ford!
The Pecker Briefs is such a fun read! Ford and Viveka will entertain you from beginning to end! Theirs humor, steam, angst, lawyers, activists…loved it! Ford’s first meeting with Viveka definitely had me laughing out!!!
Highly recommend
***5 ‘Ford & Viveka (and a little Midge)’ Stars***
It took me a minute to remember who Ford Daniels was, (I know, bad me *slaps own hand* but it’s been more than a minute since I read a book in the Legal Affairs series) so I did what any good reader does, I go to GR and scroll through all the book and that’s when it hit me.
Friction.
Leary.
OMG. THAT. FORD!! (I may have squeed a little)
So, with that knowledge I dove in and loved The Pecker Briefs (Yes, the title makes me giggle, I admit it). It was all kinds of swoon worthy, sweet, smexy and low on angst ~ which really suited the mood I was in when I started reading ~ and while I didn’t devour the words, I enjoyed each and every one of them.
Ford is just…everything. I mean the goodness that is this man is mind blowing. He’s sweet, charming, can be Alpha AF when needed (Like OMG Smexy times), compassionate and simply a genuine human being all around.
Viveka is beautiful inside and out. I swear I had a girl crush on her and kinda want to be her when I grow up. She had an interesting life growing up and has worked really hard to get where she is. She may not be rolling in the dough, but she loves what she does and is quite content with her life.
Ford and Viveka together were so much fun. From their first collision there were sparks and it only grew from there. The smexy between them was nuclear…I mean HOT! But outside of the bedroom they were even better. They respected each other and I loved the open communication they had, there was no game playing going, it was simply two people spending time together and finding that they wanted more.
As I said in the beginning the angst is low, think opposite end of the spectrum from Friction, but there is some drama and it does keep things interesting. I loved catching up with Leary and Reeve, who were a lot of fun. And then there is Midge Payne…this woman is everything! I swear I was just as excited about getting more time with her as I was to experience Ford falling in love.
So if you’re in the mood for a swoon worthy, smexy read that’s low on angst then The Pecker Briefs is a must read!

Ok, seriously the name of this book had me rolling…yes I know that’s a bit juvenile but come on it’s funny and you know it.
Did you read Friction? If you did you’ll remember Ford, he is Leary’s best friend. I remember while reading that Ford should get his own story because he was a great secondary character I had a feeling he would be an amazing MC…and I was right!
I loved Ford and Viveka together. and the fact that she is an animal rights lawyer really spoke to me. Sawyer Bennett did a great job with not only providing us a great romance with likable MCs but she also gives us a great legal story with Ford and Viveka going against one another with an animal rights case, Viveka is hoping to save the red-cockaded woodpecker which is on the endangered species list and Ford is representing a developer that is in the process of building on the land that the woodpecker has been spotted.
The Pecker Briefs can be read as a standalone within the series but I would recommend that you read Friction first so you’ll know Leary and Reeve’s story since they are in this book as well and you’ll get your first glimpse at Ford.

4.5 star Review The Pecker Briefs (Legal Affairs #7) by Sawyer Bennett
This has always been a favourite series of mine and it was great to get back into the Legal Affairs series, one of Sawyer Bennett’s most popular series.
There were equal parts of humour and smoking hot scenes throughout this book. To be honest, just the title The Pecker Briefs had me in intrigued. .
This is partner of Knight & Payne law firm, Ford Daniel’s story. He is a smart, confident and totally swoon-worthy man who does not like to lose a case.
When Ford’s client looks to bulldoze a woodpecker’s natural habitat so that he can build a multimillion-dollar subdivision, Ford is brought into contact with Viveka (Veka) Jones, the smart, sexy and feisty lawyer who is representing an animal rights group totally opposed to the development.
Turning up to the site he is shocked to find Viveka chained to a tree demanding that work immediately stop.Honestly the chemistry is so hot that it almost explodes and neither Ford or Viveka can deny what is so obviously sizzling between them.
Ford and Veka come to realise that regardless of the case, they are meant to be together. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and as I have come to expect from Sawyer Bennett I find the writing to be of an extremely high standard and she had me totally engrossed from the first to the last chapter,
4.5 stars– THE PECKER BRIEFS is the seventh instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary adult LEGAL AFFAIRS erotic, romance series. This is opposing attorneys forty-three year old Ford Daniels, and thirty-six year old Viveka Jones’ story line. THE PECKER BRIEFS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Ford and Viveka) THE PECKER BRIEFS follows the building relationship between opposing counsels, attorneys Ford Daniels and Viveka Jones. As an animal rights attorney, Viveka has seen her share of animal abuse and chaining herself to a tree meant getting the exposure she hoped she would find in an effort to stop the deforestation in an area home to the red-cockaded woodpecker. What Viveka never expected was to meet the man with whom she would fall in love. Enter attorney Ford Daniels, representing the law firm of Knight & Payne, and her opposing counsel in a hearing to determine the future of the land housing the endangered ‘pecker’. What ensues is the building relationship between Ford and Viveka, and the increasing danger as Viveka is targeted by an unknown source.
Viveka Jones never meant to seduce our story line hero but their palpable sexual attraction to one another was evident to everyone including the senior partner at Knight & Payne. A former Swedish model, Viveka’s beauty is a distraction to men including Ford himself, and Ford finds himself pulled towards Viveka for more than a one-night stand. The potential ramifications of an affair between opposing counsels is a constant reminder that anything might possibly go wrong.
The relationship between Ford and Viveka is one of immediate attraction; an insta-lust story line that finds our couple in bed within hours of meeting. Ford doesn’t do relationships but meeting Viveka our hero slowly begins to think about a future with the former Swedish model. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, and intense. The use of a certain four-letter word is not applied to the romance aspect of the story line but gives nod to the behaviour and threats against our story line heroine.
We are introduced to Viveka’s BFF, beauty salon owner Frannie; Viveka’s mother Tilde Sjogren Wroth, a woman unable to let go of what was; land developer and Landmark Builders owner Drake Powell; Ford’s boss, senior partner Midge Payne; and Ford’s best friend, attorney Leary, and her husband Reeve. Leary, Reeve and Midge were introduced in the book FRICTION (October 2015)
We are privy to Viveka’s back story, a heart breaking look at a young woman whose earlier career and success exposes the reality of the fractured mother –daughter dynamics. Rescuing an abused animal from a potential life of suffering and pain, Viveka’s history reveals a colorful past that shaped the woman she was born to be.
THE PECKER BRIEFS is a story of power and greed; vengeance and money; lust, love, romance and a happily ever after. The premise is engaging, captivating, and sensual; the romance is energetic, provocative and seductive; the characters are colorful, inspiring, and spirited. THE PECKER BRIEFS is a sassy , sexy and edgy story line you do not want to miss.
Sawyer Bennett adds to her entertaining and sexy Legal Affairs series with this provocative title The Pecker Briefs in which we follow magnetic lawyer Ford Daniels and animal rights attorney Viveka Jones who chained herself to a tree in order to save an endangered woodpecker species.
Viveka and Ford are opposing counsel in the “Pecker Briefs” but that doesn’t stop them from acting on their attraction. As they spend time together, maturely separating their personal time from the case, they explore the deep connection develops in deliciously sweet, sexy and touching ways that ultimately lead to love.
Both Viveka and Ford are charming and compelling characters. Viveka is smart, independent and caring with an inner beauty that matches her model looks. A perpetual bachelor, Ford is a partner at Knight & Payne law firm as is equally smart, funny, and witty. He’s also gorgeous, thoughtful, caring, attentive, successful, in a word, perfect.
I truly enjoyed reading about Viveka and Ford. Theirs was a spellbinding tale with a wonderful flow and interesting plot. It was touching and thought provoking. The relationship was well developed, without unnecessary angst or drama, probably due to the central character’s maturity. I read it in a single sitting because it was impossible to put down.
Sawyer crafts another sultry contemporary story that showcases her unforgettable wit and charm while turning up the heat in incredible sexy love scenes. A perfect romance you can escape in.
The Pecker Briefs is book #7 of the Legal Affairs series by Sawyer Bennett. It is a standalone, contemporary forbidden romance. Told from both points of view with a happy ending.
