I loved meeting Syrena again. I wanted to know what happened to her when she was taken away and sold. I cannot imagine the struggles she endured and the fears and rage she felt. Syrena was one of my favorite characters because she was full of spirit and sass.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
It’s official, if Clarissa Wild writes it…I’ll read it!!!
Another dark, twisted, emotional story.
Chased is a consuming dark romance that will make you question your morals and test your heart. For me, that is a estimate to the author. I like when boundaries are pushed. I like the dark romances that you know you shouldn’t be OK with what is going on but in fact you are very much OK with it.
“To me, she is everything. Her existence will be my downfall or my only salvation”
Syrena and Chase’s story starts off with a chase. Literally. It’s that chase that changes both of their lives moving forward. As a captive, Syrena has to fight her own emotions she feels towards Chase and mentally battle herself for what she should and shouldn’t want.
I did not know that this was the third book in a series so I can honestly say that it can be read as a standalone. I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything at all. Even towards the end when I realized that there was other books related to Cage, it didn’t change my mind. It only made me want to go read the others just because I liked the book.
One of my favorite things about Chased is how tough, independent and feisty Syrena is. She doesn’t let being blind hinder her. She owns it, owns who she is and uses it to her advantage. She’s smart and has a big heart despite everything that has happened to her in the past. It makes her that much more compelling and it’s easy to feel for her and want to see her happy, just like Chase.
If you are looking for a consuming dark romance that will make you mind battle with your heart, then Chased is the book for you!
From the moment I picked this up, I was invested.
Chased is basically Syrena and Chase’s story and tells events after Chase purchases Syrena from an illegal sale.
I’m going to try and keep this short and sweet.
So I do love me a twisted deviant hero and with Chase, we have this in spades.
Chase may be all sorts of wrong but he is also all sorts of right for Syrena.
I wasn’t quite sure initially exactly what he was hoping to accomplish with Syrena but as things progressed further along it quickly became apparent.
Chase lives by his own agenda of rules and because of these, he was swiftly falling into a black hole.
Syrena for him was a test to see how far down this rabbit hole he had fallen.
Syrena herself was much harder to get a handle on, but I believe she was just the right side of feisty.
Too much and maybe there would have been more of a power struggle between these two.
I think the balance was just right here.
And with Chase ultimately looking for innocent and vulnerable, well whats more so than a blind girl.
I also think Chase was initially surprised at how independent Syrena actually was, she wasn’t quite the shrinking violet he was ultimately expecting.
I also loved how there was a deeper story running underneath, a river flowing that we gradually became more aware of as events unfolded.
This for me delivered one hundred percent.
My only slight gripe would be that I was not completely convinced about syrena being blind and able to hold down a waitressing and cleaning job.
It doesn’t seem likely in my opinion.
But that’s just my opinion and I could be wrong.
So Chased delivered on all fronts for me and I found it to be an engrossing actioned packed read that I enjoyed immensely.
And I have no problem recommending this to others.
I hope you give Chased a go and enjoy it as much as me.
one final thing, From other reviews I’ve gathered this is part of an ongoing series.
I read this as a standalone and had no issues at all following along.
I was provided with an ARC of “Chased” By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Syrena and Chase.
As always, Clarissa Wild takes us on a Wild and twisted journey. Chased is book three in the series and we met Syrena in Caged. She’s easy to love. She may be blind but she is anything but helpless with her sass and spirit.
Graham may no longer be on this earth but the havoc he wrought still affects Syrena, Chase, Cage, Ella and Lock. But these men and women found each other and found ways to cope, to live and to love.
This book was Syrena’ story. Chase? You can make up your own mind. But I forgive him for much of what he did. Not sure I could forget all things. But he’s Syrena’s and she’s the match to his damaged and twisted soul. They even each other out.
And the ending? Almost perfect conclusion to the series.
Disturbing but I couldn’t stop reading. Reminded me a little of the Dexter series in that I found myself rooting for the “villain “ and overlooking a lot of the things he did. HEA and good continuation of the series.
We met Syrena in Caged -if you haven’t read it you should- and now she finally gets her own book.
Her life is nothing but abuse, working her butt off and being taken advantage of.
When she’s sold to Chase she expects the worst, and initially, it’s what she gets.
Chase is a confusing man, his emotions are all over the place. He goes back and forth so often I thought my head would spin. He wants Syrena for a specific reason but somehow he just can’t keep that fact straight in his head.
Their story is a twisted tale with it’s ups and downs. In the end they find what they both need but the journey to get there is a bumpy ride!
I have been enjoying this series, Caged, Uncaged, Chased, especially how they tie the characters together. They have all had flow issues as well consistency…but this one could have been so much better with just a few tweaks! The reunion with Ella and Gage was horribly written! I am going to read Locked, but I need a break first.
Really, this is a 3.5 stars instead of a 3 stars. One day we’ll be able to leave 1/2 stars.
I enjoy Clarissa Wild and reading her books, and I generally enjoy this world. I’ve read the other two books in the series and have enjoyed them. But, I like Caged, the first book of the series, better than I have liked the other two. Nothing against the other two, like I said, I enjoyed them, and I’d happily read all three of them again, but the first one is my favorite.
We met Syrena in Caged. She’s blind and had no use to the person who was holding her captive. Chase is the one who bought her. He bought her for a very particular reason and with a very particular motive. When his plan falls through, he falls back on plan b, but the problem is that he never had a plan b, and he’s making it up as he goes along. Syrena is completely out of her element and is trying to figure out what’s going on, what Chase wants of her, what she wants, and the world in general.
Interesting story, interesting premise. Lots of secrets coming out, and more revelations. It’s sort of a standalone, but you will definitely get more from this book if you read at least Caged before hand.
Once again this Author delivers the goods!
This story is about what happens to Syrena after she was taken from the glass prison cells she shared Ella and Cage. Their captor, Graham drugged her and took her from the compound to be auctioned off.
This story is also about the masked man who bought her. His name is Chase Marion, of Marion enterprises. The mask he wears is to protect his identity. The world cannot ever know who he is or what he does…. He’s a killer.
The moment he sees the beautiful blind girl who shows such spirit, a fighter, he knows ….. she’s perfect. His next victim.
But he just can’t make himself kill an innocent….he can’t let her go. So he takes her home. There’s just something about this small blind girl. She may be small in body but her very big existence could mean his downfall or perhaps his salvation. Still, he has to have her.
Syrena is willing to do whatever it takes. She will gain his trust and escape. So what that he’s arranged for her every comfort. She intended to use his kindness against him…She didn’t intend to fall for her captor or to become so addicted to his touch or crave the sweet release of pleasurable pain.
Chase confesses all the secrets, and treachery, Syrena learns that the life she always knew was a lie…. feeling betrayed and broken, she runs and Chase lets her go.
Syrena had no idea what her freedom was going to cost her… and, she’s not even sure she wants it now.
This is an emotional read from start to finish. Told from both POVs, the flow never lets up as you’re dragged or thrown into the next big thing! The characters are strong and well developed. When it all came together for me, It was a shock. It was definitely not what I expected!
There seems to be no end to the evil perpetrated by Graham.
I highly suggest that the first two books be read first. I’m so glad I did because some things in them happen simultaneously.
There are so many twists and turns that link things together. I recommend this to 18+ only due to erotic content.
This was kind of a different read for me. I have read dark romance before so that wasn’t it. But the writing style…where you are just getting very vague information…leaving you to imagine really what the underlying reasons are…that was different. I have to say I liked it! I have not read LOCKED or CAGED yet, so I really don’t know if they are all set up this way, but I have to say I am intrigued.
This story is really intense and had me questioning my moral code at times. Between the emotional build between Chase and Syrena and the emotional war of Chase’s needs…I was literally all over the place. I really didn’t have time to settle in to one feeling because as soon as I would the dynamic would change and take me somewhere else. I loved it!
I didn’t think there was really too much going on here that would trigger many people…its rough and morally questionable at times, but I think everything was written tastefully. But maybe that is just me.
Reading time for this story was about 4.5 hours. Which was a great thing for me…because putting this down was next to impossible. It is told in first person alternating view between Chase and Syrena.
I loved this story and will be going back for the other books!
So happy to be able to get Syrena’s story. I have always wondered what happened with her since Cage and Uncaged and I was thrilled that Chased was her story. This book is not your typical romance but it wouldn’t be a book by Clarissa if it was. This book is dark and twisted and oh so delicious. I loved getting more and more about their stories and Chase’s motivation for why he chooses to buy her as the story went on. Seeing him discover things about himself he didn’t think possible and Syrena learning more about him and the feelings that grown from them both. She struggles with the draw she has to him as would anyone.
We get more answers and shocking surprises with this book. If you haven’t read at least Caged and Uncaged you can still enjoy this book but I think I enjoyed it that much more since I have read them. Another great read!!
This book. Wow. Chased has left me breathless and yearning for more. I love a monster. Clarissa Wild makes the monster oh so good. Chase is a crazy psychopath with a twisted mind, who kills for the joy of it. Syrena is a kidnapped girl trying to figure out her way back to freedom, unfortunately she’s blind so that proves harder than it sounds. Chase purchases Syrena for a reason. A truly f@#$ed up reason. Chase realizes pretty quickly Syrena is going to mean something to him and goes full throttle in secret mode to make sure she will always trust him.
Haven’t men learned yet? You can’t keep secrets from us women. We eventually find out. Which is what Syrena does. When you are hiding skeletons in your closet make sure they actually fit in there and aren’t bursting at the seams to come out. Chase learned the hard way. After learning Chase has no plans to release her, Syrena gets as comfortable as she’s allowed. Syrena secretly loves the sick side of Chase, yet fights the war of mind and heart.
Chased blew me away with all the revelations. I felt like I gasped a thousand times when a new secret came to light. Chase is one hot man, psychopath, whatever. The sex was out of this world hot and Syrena finds herself a bit from it. She finds out what she likes and needs. Overall this book stands out as an impeccable read with mesmerizing characters that steal your heart with their darkness. No doubt in my mind it is a five star read!
A million dollars.
This is the price reached by Syrena, in the auction where the beautiful blind girl was submitted.
After being held in a glass cage for so long, after being kidnapped at the nightclub where she worked as a janitor, for failing to fulfill her goal in the cage – to become pregnant with future underground fighters – Syrena is sold.
Your new owner?
A mysterious man, who treats her well – though now she is trapped in his house – and who seems to have a connection with her beyond what she appears to be.
In this third book in the series – which can be read as a stand alone – we come to the end of the story of the characters who have had their lives modified by a man’s ambition.
Mystery, romance, sensuality and a good dose of HEA.
3,5 stars
