Wonderful characters in a book that is well written. I can picture each scene and fell in love with their story
Jenna Brandt in her talented style sweeps you away to the old west. Life was hard and families stuck together. The hero, Jake Bolton, a deputy sheriff in Abilene, TX, is on the trail of outlaws. When Jake lands in Rockwood Springs due to his horse needing attention, he meets Rebecca Caldwell whose family owns the local livery. There is really an instant attraction between the two, but Jake is harboring some deep emotions from the past and Rebecca has been focused on taking care of her family. As Jake rides on to track down the outlaws, circumstances brings him back to Rockwood Springs and Rebecca. This is a story of second chances, love found and walking with God to bring two people together. This book is part of The Lawkeeper Series, a multi author set of books I am looking forward to reading. I loved this book as I do all of Jenna Brandt’s stories and look forward to the next!
This Christian read is perfect for an afternoon. It is easy, uncomplicated and endearing as Rebecca cared for her family. Jake Bolton, deputy sheriff, entered town looking for criminals and befriended the Caldwell family. This book is clean and can be read by anyone.
I enjoyed the book.. I have read several books by this Author and enjoy her work.
Her characters are personable and fun to read. They are well written and the plot is well developed.
I think you will enjoy this book as much as I did.
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
Loved Jake and Rebecca’s story!! I especially liked that Jake responded when he felt convicted and resumed his relationship with God, which enabled him to have his happy ending with Rebecca. Life is difficult and sometimes down right hard, but with God, we can get through it and come out better on the other side. Maybe not better by the world’s standards, though it can, but by God’s, which is far better, anyway.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is totally my own.
As a relatively new to me author what can I say that hasn’t already been said? I’m falling more and more in love with Jenna’s work in each book. This one in particular hit home with the Sunday service and was something I needed to be reminded of. This sweet love story tinged with law enforcement in the wild west was spun so carefully and craftily. Sure to be a favorite read of many for it’s love story and happy ending. How could it not? Thank Dustin for me as well Jenna. No, I don’t know them but feel as I do.
I love this book!
Priorities can change after finding love. Enjoyable sweet read.
Deputy Sheriff Jake “Bullseye” Bolton and Rebecca Caldwell are well-written protagonists in this western historical romance. Love can make a man change his goals! I recommend Lawfully Loved to others. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
Lawfully Loved by Jenna Brandt is another great story in the Law keepers series. Widowed lawman Jake “Bullseye” Bolton is in pursuit of 2 outlaw brothers when his horse becomes lame and he has to find another horse. He had no intention of falling in love with Rebecca! Sometimes things just happen – all in God’s plan.
The plot and characters are well developed and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this sweet, inspirational story. I highly recommend it.
LOVE WORTH FIGHTING FOR
I enjoyed this story that is part of a new series, A Texas Lawkeeper Romance, by a group of talented authors. Each story in the series will read as a stand-alone and can be read in any order. The stories will all feature law enforcement heroes and the women who love them. The stories are sweet, clean based stories where the lawman finds his woman.
Deputy Sheriff Jake Bolton is sent by the Sheriff of Abilene towards Woody to try and apprehend the Grimes brothers who have been spotted in the county and have left a string of robberies and even deaths. Before arriving in Rockwood Springs, his horse, Ginger, will become lame and he must carefully walk her into town. Stopping at the livery, he will learn there are no other horses available until Monday, delaying his mission.
The Caldwell family owns the livery, and also trains horses for sale. While Mr. Caldwell will house Ginger for several weeks to heal, he doesn’t have a horse to sell the deputy at the time. Jake will take a room at the saloon but will be invited to join the Caldwell family for dinner.
The plot of the story will have Rebecca and Jake getting to know each other during the weekend and even attending the Founder’s Day celebration together. There is a mutual attraction between them, but also plenty of problems, including his job in Abilene. Jake is haunted by his past and the loss he has suffered and has never believed he could have feelings for another woman, but somehow Rebecca has wormed her way into his mind and even his heart.
What happens when Monday comes around, and he will have to leave and continue with his assignment? He still must try and apprehend the Grimes brothers for justice to prevail. Why is his heart pulling in a different direction? Did he make the right decision leaving?
The story takes on danger, mystery, suspense, life and death, a sweet romance, and haunting memories. Living life with regrets and memories has prevented him from living his life the way he should. Both Jake and Rebecca have burdens that they must accept, but can they find a way to a future with happiness? Sometimes unexpected circumstances will lead to blessings in disguise.
“What would it take to help him put his past to rest so he could move on with his future?”
The story is a clean western romance of a lawman and the woman who will help heal his heart, teach him that he has room for happiness, and maybe even God placed him in the perfect place to hear His word and seek forgiveness.
I loved reading this book! The romance was wonderful, and there was some action, too. Rebecca and Jake stole my heart. They were both so good, kind and thoughtful. I was rooting for them from the very beginning. So was Lydia. She was so cute about it! I finished the book with a happy sigh.
This is the first book I’ve read by Jenna Brandt. I really liked her writing style and look forward to reading her work again.
This is well written with a good storyline. The characters are well developed and likable. I enjoyed the interaction of the people in the small town. The story has romance, struggles, humor, drama and danger. Just enough of everything to keep you turning the pages. I enjoyed it a lot and look forward to reading all of the series.
This author is so talented that she can switch from writing a heartbreakingly beautiful love story saga based in England and in various places in the Americas, to writing an historical western type love story; and all of it is amazingly good.
In this particular sweet western romance we have a Deputy Sheriff, Jake, looking for the Grimes Brothers when he and his horse have an accident.
Then he meets up with Rebecca and there is an undeniable attraction for each other but neither is willing to admit it. Sparks fly between them as they get to know each other and there eventually is a happily ever after. Of course there is! It wouldn’t be a romance story if there wasn’t.
In all honesty, I loved this book and highly recommend it. It is a page-tuner that is easy to read and follow. It is about a sweet romance that was very enjoyable and entertaining as well as being full of the right kind of action with a hunk of a lawman and all this made it a delightful read.
I voluntarily read a free advance copy of the ebook and this is my unbiased review.
