She thinks she’s broken and I’m the one to fix her.As an ex-Navy SEAL there are a few guarantees in life.Avoiding relationships is one of them. Dealing with PTSD is another. So when I come across the Reckless Bastards MC, it’s perfect for a man like me.Last thing I expect is to encounter Jana Carter at a painting class. Don’t ask why I was there.I can hardly keep my eyes off of her. She’s a shy, … can hardly keep my eyes off of her. She’s a shy, sultry vixen, and she grabs a hold of me so hard, I can’t let go.
But, I don’t expect to fall for any women—much less find one who can deal with me and my messed up past.
Just when I thought I’d built strong walls around my heart, I discover her walls are reinforced with steel. She’s so pure, so innocent—and hard.
Against all the odds, I want her.
I’ll do anything to have her, to make her mine.

5 out of 5 stars fabulous read
Format: Kindle Edition
Last year I read 450 books. I over dosed on words, so this year gave my self a break, not only to get my mojo back, but also to tackle my TBR PILE, which I now realise is never going to go down, as I have not stopped buying the new releases for this year. Anyway onto this book.
I have had this tucked away for awhile and was the first one I tackled on my TBR pile , I am totally kicking my self because this was absolutely fabulous,I thought it was an MC read, was expecting the usual high jinks when it comes to these kind of books,
Nope it isn’t what you get with this,
You get two broken people suffering from their own PTSD, coming together and working through it,
The theme of the book that made this so refreshing for me anyway was it was only about these two yes there are side characters, who I now know get their own book which I already have.
This wasn’t a wham bam thank you mam kind of book. It has enough sexy time to make it hot but this was all about the emotions, how to grow and change from such horrific pasts,
I loved Jana and Max. This was their story of self discovery of pain of letting go an ultimately trusting someone else, even though the world has shown you the bad side there is also good. You just have to open your eyes and most of all your heart to it.
I highly recommend this book. Just don’t wait as long as I did
I couldn’t put this book down. It made me cry and smile and want to wring necks.
A beautiful story of two people with PTSD for different reasons and how they deal with it. This isn’t the usual type of MC book that I’m used to. Yes, they discuss the club but the story is centered on the couple and how they each deal with their brokenness. It’s about friends who accept and love them. The story will make you smile, want to knock some people out for their cruelty, and look forward to the next book in this series.
Not all scars are visible. In Beautifully Broken we have visible and invisible scars. Max and Jana’s storyline of two people that are afraid of the future and what it holds. They meet at a very unlikely place. Can they overcome their past histories and find love and happily-ever-after? you will need to read this wonderful book to find out. I look forward to the next book in the series.
Max and Jana’s story is filled love but also with doubts that they need to overcome. They both have pain from their past and need each other to heal. I really enjoyed this book.
A beautifully well written, heartfelt, and endearing journey to go on with Jana and Max. I enjoyed every single captivating moment of this story.
Excellent book. I recommend it to anyone.
arc review For honest review. Max is ex military and part of the reckless bastards mc. Jena is a account with a scare down her whole face. Both have issues trying to overcome through art. Awesome story
I think this one is my favourite by this author, I really connected with the story and characters and couldn’t put it down. This book deals with PTSD, 2 broken souls finding their way into each others’ hearts. Both with scars, mental and physical. Jana’s let hers hold her back for so long, Max doesn’t see them, he sees her *sigh. I think we all want to be her finding a man like that. This book is more than a romance, so much more and I loved it.
K. B. Winters is an amazing author. Her plots are well thought out and enjoyable despite the emotional toll they can take. The storyline flowed fairly smoothly throughout this book. I loved the characters despite wanting to jerk a knot in their heads periodically due to their stupidity. Both have traumatic experiences in their past. It was touching to watch them overcome the obstacles so they could be together.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book….
If you have read any of the books in the Reckless Bastards MC
series so far you will know a few of the characters already.
Vivid and Jag new each other on line when they were kids.
Vivi needed help because some one was after here so she
went to the only person she trusted. When she asked Jag
for help he didn’t give it straight away because he was a little
busy with club business but he new for Vivi to asked then she
really did need help.
This book is a bit of an emotional read that will have you hooked
on the pages to the end of the book.
Beautifully Broken is an emotional ride with two amazing characters.
Jana is scarred, both literally and figuratively, by her former foster father. She’s sweet, but tends to be reclusive. If it weren’t for her best friend, Teddy (Theodora), she’d probably stay inside her home all the time, just working and painting. When she meets gorgeous, tatted up Max, a former SEAL, at the painting class she attends, she’s bemused by his interest in her. After all, she’s used to men passing her by while they drool all over Teddy’s taller, model-like (she is a former model) appearance. But when Max shows an obvious interest in her and asks for her number, she figures he’ll just blow her off the way she’s expecting. And he does, until he shows up at the painting class again, and they just can’t dismiss their connection and a sexy relationship is born.
But when Max’s painfully obvious demons show their face and Max inadvertently hurts Jana, she finally stands up for herself and severs their ties. Can Max win back his love? More importantly, can he, with the help of his patient therapist, help him dig out the heart of his problems? Help him treat his PTSD so he can be the man he needs to be, for himself, and for Jana?
I really like Beautifully Broken. It’s got KB’s signature sexy style, but it also touches on some heavy stuff that she doesn’t always feature in her normal military stuff. Max’s PTSD and loss while deployed, combined with Jana’s heartbreaking story of abuse is the kind of story that stays with you even after you’re done reading. I think Max and Jana are a hot couple, but, more significantly, they’re a realistic couple with the kind of scars a lot of us carry around, both physical and emotional. 1-click today if you like your couples on the more realistic, raw side.
This book is about 2 different people who find their way to each other. She’s scarred from a childhood incident in foster care, and his are PTSD from the war and the roadside bomb that destroyed his world and a younger brother who has been in prison for a crime he didn’t commit for 6 years. Not much to do with the MC club in this book. Slow reading for me.
This is a very intense story of two people who feel broken from their past lives.
Jana is a survivor of child abuse with a permanent reminder of a scar on her face. She doesn’t feel that she will ever have someone special in her life. People always see her scar and treat her like she has something wrong with her.
Max was a Navy Seal and has PTSD. He has been working with a therapist because he usually turns to alcohol to numb his pain. Max also came to Las Vegas to find his brother. When Max located the Reckless Bastards MC (his brother’s MC) he found out that his brother was in jail for a crime he did commit. Max ended up joining the MC trying to fit in somewhere.
Jana and Max end up meeting in an art class and they hit it off but it won’t be easy going for long. Can these two emotionally damaged people help each other out or will they let their own haunts keep them apart?
I received this book as an ARC copy for a voluntarily honest review.
