The ancient world is not what we thought.
In the city of Prague, freelance treasure hunter Jules has finally located the bangle stolen from his dying mother, an artifact that may unravel a centuries-old secret: the location of an ancient tomb hidden from the world by one of Christ’s disciples.
But when a reclusive, ruthless billionaire beats him to the artifact, Jules joins forces with an … joins forces with an institute of unconventional archaeologists who reveal to him clues penned two thousand years ago. Clues that support the claim his mother’s bangle holds properties that science cannot explain.
And Jules appears to be the only person who can activate them – a responsibility that will tempt him toward the dark path he has avoided all his life.
As both parties race to decipher the bangle’s origins, they uncover a trail meant only for the holiest of men, leading to an apostle’s manuscript, the hunt for a tomb alleged to conceal great power, and a breathless, globe-trotting adventure that threatens to destroy them all.
If you enjoy the Dirk Pitt novels by Clive Cussler, James Rollins’ Sigma Force books, or the Ben Hope series by Scott Mariani, you’ll love this new international action adventure thriller.

This is a awesomely great read. It is a wild rollercoaster ride with twists and turns that makes this novel so great. Jules is a thief who is obsessed recovering his mothers bangle that was violently stolen from her and killing her and his dad. This is an unexpected gem full of revelations throughout the book. You receive information and learn how the bangle is tied all the way back to Mother Mary. I could not put this book down. It grabbed a hold of my attention and I spent the next 7 hours reading. Didn’t realize the time passing. Can not wait for more from this series.

Unable to suspend my disbelief.
How are they going to get out as the ground collapses onto them? I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. Wonderful!
Tedious, tedious, tedious!
Action, adventure and archeology combine with thieves filled with greed and others motivated by their beliefs and faith
Globe trotting, history tweaking adventure

An epic reading that turns into a very interesting adventure
„Tomb of the First Priest“ by A.D. Davis is not your standard adventure-thriller page-turner, it is a vast reading that joins various research branches into a complex structure that demands from the reader a certain level of attention through the text and will without doubt be rewarded at the end of the +560 pages.
The book likes a screenplay, with the reader as silent witness to an ever-changing action, where new elements constantly add to the overall plot. Not your usual “adventure-thriller” setting, but a lot more closed to real life, and just as in real life, some facts just make sense after the adventure is completed.
Jules Sibeko has been on a quest for the last nine years, since the day his parents were killed in a robbery gone wrong. And Jules have been obsessed ever since with finding his mother lost jewel, a bangle. Obsessed is indeed the only way to describe Jules, obsessed to the point of annoyance, and this is exactly what makes him so real, he is not the über-human main character able to resolve almost every riddle like a deus ex-machina. Jules is a normal guy thrown into a hero’s quest that follows his clue until the very last consequence and riddle resolution.
As no-man is an island (something that once again separates Jules from your usual Indiana Jones and/or Robert Langdon look-alike), Jules joints LORI (Lost Origins Recovery Institute) a mixed group of historian, researchers, linguistics, technology savvy, undercover agents and ex-military types, invested in the recovery of lost artifacts. The hunt for the bangle runs from Prague, Roma, France, to Mongolia and unearthing new information that helps to create a more complex picture of the facts.
The book is well written and rich in information (the author makes a very good job of distinguish facts and fiction), the depicted sceneries some of the most iconic (with the added bonus, that you probably wouldn’t have the opportunity to ever observe them so up-close and personal and free of touristic flows). The characters feel real, even when if we don’t really want to relate with them, because the reader would rather relate to Indiana Jones that the real guy on the real quest on the more or less real world.
A satisfying and intelligent reading that requires some effort from the reader and in exchange provides with not only with the thrill of a good adventure but also some information and real historical facts on the side.
The end could hint to another installment in the series, a new adventure to look forward to.
This book is quite substantial but if you love reading about real, possible and fictional historical sites and their backgrounds, this is a great read. The detail of historical finds (fictional), combined with a solid understory of people striving to find something in particular but for all different reasons, provides a story that is full of interest and action.
