Members of the Sweeney family, young and old, chart their courses for the future in this final installment of the bestselling Sweeney Sisters Series. When the seafood business Lovie Sweeney established sixty years ago is destroyed by fire, she finds herself at the center of an arson investigation. What really happened that night? Is Lovie responsible for starting the fire or is her family under … family under attack from a sworn enemy?
The loss of their family business leaves the Sweeney clan in flux. Samantha faces the challenges of rebuilding the market while her son, Jamie, on track to graduate from college in six months, must decide whether to make his permanent home in Prospect or move to Charleston where a new special someone resides. At age forty-five, Faith, who has never fully recovered from an abusive marriage, is on a quest to find her true passion? Jackie is distraught when her son, Sean, flunks out of college and struggles to find direction in his life without his twin brother to guide him. A medical diagnosis brings the sisters closer together and threatens to change family dynamics forever.
The Sweeney women remind us that it’s never too late to begin a new endeavor and to never stop chasing your dreams until you draw your last breath.

The Sweeney Sisters series are the first books of Farley’s I read. I couldn’t get enough and loved that she had a series to continue reading on about the lives of these three sisters. This one was wonderful and showcases how wonderful of a writer Farley is. I’m a huge fan thanks to this series.
I wish I could give this story a rating of 1000 stars but that rating only exists in my heart but that is how I feel after reading it!
The Sweeney’s seafood store goes up in flames and Lovie is there before anyone…she is suspected of arson? Did Lovie burn down the store or was it someone else?
Sam is debating whether or not to rebuild…Faith wants to retire because she is tired of working at the Seafood market. So many questions for Sam and losing all of Lovie’s recipes in the fire she doesn’t know what to do….
Jackie is facing problems of her own when her son Sean calls from university….Sean is having a hard time adjusting to school and he’s getting in trouble…what will happen now?
This story is heartbreaking and uplifting all in the same…the Sweeney’s have a hard time dealing with Lovie’s illness….
Highly recommend…
I had to read the entire series. Each book was as good as the last one.
The Sweeney Sisters live in the Lowcountry. This is the last in the Sweeney Sisters series, although the author hints that there may be a spin-off series in the works. This installment starts out with possibly the worst news a small business owner could receive – his/her building is on fire. What follows is the sisters coming to grips with this news, their beloved mother suffering a health decline, the possible reappearance of Curtis, and a blooming romance involving Jamie. The author handles Alzheimer’s with grace and diginity. That is what is affecting Lovie Sweeney, the matriarch of the family. One sister decides to buck the recommendations of professionals and keep her mother with her at home. Ashley Farley deals with the nuances of caring for an elderly parent with declining cognitive abilities tactfully and graciously, alluding to some problems without describin g them. Sean and Jamie come together to come up with a solution to Sean’s problem, which brings the cousins closer together. In the meantime, Jackie’s business is doing well, Sam must decide whether to rebuild after the fire, and Faith struggles on what to do with her life. Jackie must face Sean’s problems and work to help him solve them without smothering him. Sam must come to terms with Jamie’s adulthood and where he might choose to live. Meanwhile, Annie, Lizbet, and Brooke are appear in this last Sweeney sisters book. While the ending is not unexpected, for those who have come to love the Sweeney family, it needs tissues to finish the story.
Saturdays at Sweeney’s by author Ashley Farley is a wonderful tribute to this Sweeney Sisters series! I loved this series and especially since I have three sisters. Although we are each very different personalities, we love each other and fight for each other, just like the Sweeney Sisters!
Lovie has meant so much to me as a character in these books and it was so bittersweet to read of her passing. I can relate so well to the situations in this story with regard to an aging mother I cared for seven years before placing her in a care home. I cried right along with these girls, as I relived so much. The mystery about the fire and recipe box is great! I don’t want to post any more spoilers, but I’m so glad You-Know-Who got what was coming to him! I love this series!
Loved all the Sweeney Sisters books. I laughed. I cried. Didn’t change my life, but darn good entertainment.
Fun series. I was sad for it to end. Mystery, humor, love and family what more could you ask for.

My Review:
I have enjoyed this relevant and engaging series featuring three divergently different Lowcountry sisters and their addled yet feisty mother. Throughout the series, the sisters have faced a great deal of dispiriting hardships and challenges. This fifth and final installment of the series was fraught with tension from the beginning as it started with a fire to the family business that brought on a truckload of trouble and opened a channel for either a complete loss or a new opportunity. Each household, although while also blessed in many ways, was struggling with significant and overwhelming issues as well as the overriding critical element of the swift deterioration their elderly mother’s mental faculties. This concern was hitting close to home for me there is a rapidly ticking clock, and not an if but a when, until I will be facing this same despicable dilemma. Ms. Farley’s insightful narrative captured their inner conflict and turmoil with sensitivity and occasional hits of amusing levity which I fully appreciated as I’ve always found it preferable to laugh than to cry. I will miss the Sweeney sisters but was more than satisfied with their swan song.
