What if you are my dream?”Guilt and failure hold me down until a sexy musician brings adventure…brings joy. But what will become of me when our adventure is done? Good Girl Mia feels guilty for her brother’s death. It was her kidney that killed him, after all. Four years later, Mia is back home, trying to pretend that she’s got it all together. She’s set to take over the family car dealership … got it all together. She’s set to take over the family car dealership and is determined to never make her mama cry again. But she’s also running from the guilt and a boy who never really loved her.
Derek Waters has just signed with a record label and is determined to spend his summer touring with his band, far away from his alcoholic dad and the whole L.A. scene. Dealing with anyone of the female persuasion is the last thing on his mind.
When the soulful musician enters Mia’s world, she finds herself setting aside everything she thought she wanted for an adventure she never saw coming. For some reason, she wants this gorgeous man to know her story. The story of a girl who gave a body part to save a brother that everyone wanted to survive more than the girl herself…and how that hadn’t worked out.
But what will become of Good Girl Mia when their short-lived adventure is all over?

I love this story, it was very emotional, sweet, funny and sooooo romantic. I absolutely swoon when a hero has eyes for only his women and he’s not giving up on her. The author did a great job at balancing his passion for her as not to make it stalking.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Lots of strong dialogues and omg “words”!!!!
Characters are developed in to realistic personalities because of all the emotions in this story.
Narrator:
Sarah Puckett is one of my favourite narrators, she has a voice that soothes me and is very comfortable listening to. Clear pronunciation and read with feelings.
She’s also one of few female narrators that handles male voices very well
I highly recommend this audiobook!!!!!!!

Ohhhhhhh I love listening to Sarah Puckett, there is just something in her voice and the way she presents a story that just pulls me right in and makes me feel comfortable.
I am so pleased to hear Mia’s story, and that it relates back to Jake and Cam’s story throughout. It’s interesting to see the point of view of someone who was on the outside of the story but still right in the middle of it. I Iove the way this moves forward in Mia’s life and how she grows and changes throughout the book. I really love this world and was more than happy to immerse myself in it again. Though everytime Jake was mentioned my heart constricted a little. Its great that the other characters were brought through into this book. And boy those new characters!!! I hope we get to hear more from this series.
After listening to My Life as a Country Album, I did not know how how LJ Evans was going to top that amazing story. I should not have wondered. My Life as A Pop Album was another beautifully-written page turner, that had me hooked from start to end. This story was entirely different from the first book but no less emotional as it will definitely give you all the feels.
This is Mia’s story (Jake’s sister from the first book). It’s a romance but it’s also a story about survivor’s guilt and overcoming grief. The story was well-crafted and layered and you will love going on this journey with Mia and Derek. These two characters were so likable and their story will captivate you. They were supported by a range of extended characters including favorites from the previous book who added balance to the story.
I listened to the audible version of this novel. It was narrated by Sarah Puckett who did an absolutely amazing job. Her voice was so suited to these characters and she easily brought this story to life.
My Life as A Pop Album was another phenomenal story. I absolutely loved it and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of contemporary romances.

5 Star review of My Life AS A Pop Album (My Life As An Album #2) by L.J. Evans
Audio Review:
I was a little uncertain going in to this one, but once I got through the first couple of chapters I was hooked. L.J.Evans is a new author to me and although the second book in the series, you certainly can listen to it as a stand alone as enough of the back story is mentioned for you not to get lost.
This book certainly was an emotional listen, there was so much angst, guilt and suffering that was conveyed well by the narration of Sarah Puckett
Still really from a devastating loss which she blames herself for Mia is unable to move on with her life. When Derek Waters suddenly enters her world, she knows that her life is about to change; just how much of a change she has no idea.
I loved Derek, he was totally swoon worthy on so many levels and the way he felt about Mia was heartwarming. His caring, love and willingness to do so much for her really touched me. My heart just broke for Mia at times, her pain, anguish, guilt and suffering was palpable.
However, despite the angst and heartache, it was also humorous and had me smiling and laughing out loud at times.
The narration was very good and added to the listening pleasure. All in all a book that really tugged at my heartstrings.

Audio Version: My Life As A Pop Album by L.J. Evans (Author), Sarah Puckett (Narrator)
LJ Evans must have been a poet in another life. Her stories read like a sonnet put to music. The characters stir deep emotion and the words melt their way right into your heart. My Life as a Pop Album puts heartache on full display. Derek and Mia could make sweet music together, but it’s the baggage in their past that has them playing the wrong keys. Can they find the right melody to turn their love ballad into a happily ever after? Evans lyrics are an inspiration to read. Sarah Puckett turns a beautiful mess into a breathtaking wonder. Evans and Puckett make the perfect duet team.

My Life as a Pop Album
My Life as an Album, Book 2
By: L J Evans
Narrated by: Sarah Puckett
I loved L.J Evans first book in “My Life as an Album” series, her “my life as a country album” book, it is such a beautiful and moving story and I was so glad to hear she was releasing an audio for this one. Sure I was a bit worried she would not be able to keep the momentum up, maintain the same level of greatness she achieved in the first book, Jake and Cam’s story. Heck, it is hard story to follow-up on, yea it was that good. Well, consider me wowed, L.J Evans did it, she penned another beautiful and amazing story. It moves you like no other, it if filled with love, friendships, laughs, drama, finding oneself and most of all self forgiveness. This is Mia and Derek’s story, Mia is Jake’s younger sister, she carries the weight of the world on her, blames herself for kidney not saving his life. Derek, an up and coming musician, he and is band just signed signed to a record label and is touring the country. It is Jake’s Camaro that first brings them together and Derek sees something in her, something he wants more of. He wants her to come on tour with him for 3 weeks, help drive his car to California. Her parents convince her to go and it turns in to an adventure and the start to a great relationship. I thought his bandmates were so cool and accepting of her. I loved the camaraderie between them and how they all enjoyed the cave explorations. Most of all I love the chemistry between Mia and Derek, how easy they were with each other, how will they were to share their demons and be supportive to one another. L.J. Evans did it again, she sends you on an emotional rollercoaster ride, allows you to feel the pain her characters are going through, feel their emotions. Also, it was great to get a look in to Cam’s life and see she is doing well. L.J. Evans thanks for another great, heartfelt story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Sarah Puckett is a fantastic narrator and voice performer. She brings the characters to life, gives each their own distinct voice and personality. You can hear how much heart she puts into this, the projection of emotion in her performance is amazing, she makes it her own and makes you feel what the characters are feeling. Thank you for another great listen
Thank you AudiobookObsession

I just finished My Life as a Country Album (please read it first) and couldn’t wait to jump in. My Life as a Pop Album is a play on Pop songs. With catchy chapter titles and smooth lyrics we meet Mia Phillips and Derek Waters who would seem to be complete opposites. Again, lost in the storytelling, I turned pages quickly wanting to learn more about them and become a part of the scene.
Right from the start, I connected with Mia. Her insecurities and self-doubt were something I could relate with. She was a beautiful soul lost under a guilt she shouldn’t be feeling. And sometimes it takes meeting someone completely different yet the same to pull you out of your shell.
Derek was that person. He was confident but still had some layers that needed to be peeled back. I loved the easiness and strength of him. His swoon-worthy declarations had my heart melting.
A story of finding love and learning to love yourself with great secondary characters, My Life as a Pop Album is a heartwarming romance to sit back and enjoy.
My Life As A Pop Album has a much different tone than the first book in the series, it didn’t wreck me, and I’m thankful for that because I’m still recovering from My Life as a Country Album.
This one follows Mia, Jake’s younger sister.
While helping to organize an auction, in which her family is auctioning off her brother’s car, she meets Derek, a singer in a band she’s never heard of, but they instantly click. Derek ends up asking Mia to go with him cross country as they finish the band’s tour.
With encouragement from her folks, she agrees, and Good Girl Mia is finally breaking out of her shell. Derek is completely smitten with her and it shows from the very start. But Mia carries around a lot of self-doubt from living in her brother’s shadow. She also carries around a lot of guilt, and that combination just might get in the way of their budding romance.
I really liked these two together. I loved Derek’s bandmates and the way they folded Mia into their embrace. I enjoyed watching Mia break out of her shell, learning to spelunk, and opening up to Derek and his friends. Each of the chapters works with an Ed Sheeran song, which is incredibly creative. Evans has done a great job with this series and I can’t wait to start reading the next book
I’ve loved all the books in this series so far and can’t wait to read more! LJ Evans is one of my new favorite authors!
OMFG!!! SWOONING AND MY HEART SQUEEZED FOR THIS BOOK!! L.J. Evans is a First time AUTHOR for me and She Had Me Melting over Derek Waters!!! My Life As A Pop Album is OUTSTANDINGLY EPIC & BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN!!! THIS Book is NOT for your typical Love story with Hearts and Flowers but an Emotional Rollercoaster Ride of Raw Emotions!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK and Had me at the Very First chapter alone!! AND I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!
Good Girl Mia Phillips lost her Big brother Jake and blames herself for Not giving him the life he set out for himself. She carries a guilt so great that her feels like she should live her life under a rock and not take risks for the sake of her family. Until a Tall glass of Man Steel with Stormy eyes walks into her family dealership. Derek Waters is not your typical Alpha Male but according to Mia, he is definitely dangerous & off limits. You see, Derek is a musician and is on Tour with his band but decides to play for charity event that Mia & her family is giving in behalf of Jake.
Of course, they have Instant connection and he invites her join his band for their remaining tour of 3 weeks. He promises her an adventurous journey from Tennessee to California. Mia is resistant at first but makes last minute decision to live in the moment after talking it out with her parents.
Derek & Mia both have their deep festering secrets of grief and guilty consciences but together they some how bring it out of each other which is breathtaking. Derek Waters has a way with Words that Makes you Melting your Panties and his Charming Ways turn your into BUTTER!!
Also LOVE How Ms. Evans corporates ED SHEERAN’s Songs into Their Storytelling and gives you ALL THE FEELS you can ask for in a book. This Book is Beautifully written and has an Rollercoaster Ride of Raw Emotions with the characters themselves plus friends & family.
I’m DEFINITELY STAYING TUNED for MORE From LJ Evans!!! THIS IS A MUST READ BOOK FROM START!! YOU ARE NOT GONNA PUT IT DOWN!!!

And then he reached for me, wrapped his arm around my waist, and pulled me onto the grass off the sidewalk. We started dancing in the moonlight under the stars by the river. There was no music, but Derek seemed to hear his own in his head. And I swear I could hear Ed Sheeran in mine. And Ed was telling me how he found a girl, beautiful and sweet. How he was dancing in the dark, with her between his arms, barefoot on the grass, listening to his favorite song, and how he thought she looked perfect tonight.
Derek twirled me and then pulled me up close to him. “What am I going to do with you, Miss Mia?”
It was the most romantic moment I’d ever had in my whole life. And my body was softening into his while I waited for him to kiss me. I’d wanted him to kiss me for what felt like a century already.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Haven’t you figured it out yet?” His voice was still husky. I worried it was from too much reading and singing, but it only made my heart beat faster.
I couldn’t respond, so I just shook my head.
“I think you’ve been my only type my entire life.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I don’t believe in having sex just to have sex.”
My turn to stare, because what? What twenty-something guy didn’t want sex without strings? Wasn’t that what had started this whole three week journey? Him wanting to sleep with me? I knew he wanted me. He’d pretty much said that. But I could also hear Hayden again, telling me that my imagination stopped me from seeing reality. My holes in my heart started to bleed a little.
“I don’t know what to say to that,” was all I could say.
This did bring a smile to his face. Not his huge one. Not the one that stretched his cleft into its own smiley face, but one that did lighten his mood.
“I have a solution for that,” he said with so much innuendo that I was right back to not having to doubt. He did want me.
And he proved it by kissing me. A slow kiss that burned from my toenails slowly up my legs to the pit of my belly and up until it reached my heart where it caused melting to occur all over again.
