But can anyone be trusted?
I’m Kit Davenport and I didn’t see that one coming.
more
This series just keeps getting better. How many more twists and turns can these characters have?
This book is mostly about Kit and the guys, getting to know each other and their powers better.
I’ve been dying to read this book and holy shit I am not disappointed at all. Kit and her sexy men are still on the run and can’t trust no one. You will definitely be laughing while reading this book. Austin ugh I absolutely love the sexy chemistry between him & Kit. All of them, River, Vali, Caleb, Wesley, Cole and Austin I absolutely love, you I’ll definitely not be able too pick a favorite. There is action, adventure and the bonds between them all are getting stronger. You will not be able to put this book down. The ending was insane, crazy and definitely wishing The Crow’s Murder book was out now.
4 freaking stars
Omg did this really just happen . Let me just say loyalty is tested in this book bully someone you would least expect . More truths are reveled and in comes Momma Bridget . Also poor Kit is starting to feel the effects of this war . She is losing so much and can she handle much more . Many reviews I read are saying Kit seems like a damsel but I see a strong character who has been through more than any one person should . If anyone deserves a little breakdown it is her . This book reveals a lot more but still keeps you guessing . We learn more about all of the guys powers . It is really great and I’m starting books 4 now .
I’m guessing if you’re reading this review that you’ve already read books one through three. If I’m right then I have to ask you, why are you bothering with reviews? You already know this series is freaking awesome! If you haven’t read the previous books….you definitely should! This series just gets better and better as it progresses. I get questions answered only to have something else happen that causes more questions to arise. There is non stop action, constant peril, numerous bad guess, secrets, lies, betrayal, one sassy sarcastic and kick a$$ female lead, tons of shape shifting and paranormal stuff, super sexy men with lots of steamy goodness and so much more!
Once again a fantastic addition to the Kit Davenport series. There is so much character development alongside the snark and action these books are known for. With heart wrenching moments and laugh out loud scenes this couldn’t be better.
All I can say is WOW! This book was amazing….I can’t say enough and I’m speechless at the same time. So many things going on and questions answered. Kit and her men’s relationships are getting stronger and stronger. I can’t wait for Crow’s Murder! This series is Epic!
It was just in my review of the previous book where I raved about how phenomenally consistent this series is in terms of awesomeness. I think I jinxed it because this book kind of disappointed me a bit. But bear with me until I explain it.
The thing is that after 3 previous books the world building and the characters are pretty established and there is no question that the author has an exceptional style. This means that the deciding factor is solely the storyline of each individual book. And that was really the reason I didn’t like this story as much as well.
The plot compared to the previous ones was pretty nonexistence, the whole book focused on the steamy, spicy connection between Kit and her boys and when it came to the grand scheme of things, namely the supernatural threat, there is almost no progression. It was a shame and while I love the romance between Kit and the others and I especially like that this RH story is not one of the slow burn ones. For me it felt a bit like they were sitting around and waiting for the other shoe to drop instead of investigating and working to understand a bit more about Kit’s powers. Yes, there are a couple of revelations but they all happen in the background and you as the reader only get to know them second hand.
I loved the romance part of the book, it was really exciting but it also was a bit boring if I look at it as a development in her relationship with the others because on that front there is not much of a change or progression, they settled into a comfortable dynamism and while its working if there is no move on either on the mystery side and either on the relationship side, then what’s the moving force behind the plot. However my favorite part of this book was new connection and playful banter between Kit and Austin. It was a welcomed change compared to the previous installment.
So in the end while I love the series, adore the characters and the connection between them, also can’t wait for the next one because the explosive and cliffhangerish ending guarantees it, for me this book felt more like a companion novel thanks to the lack of meaningful development of the plot.
I really like this series. It has adventure, romance and humor. I like Kit and I like that we get to see her with each of the guys. One of my favorite parts was with Sam – I love his attitude and I hope we get to see more of him on the next part!
