I was a good girl.Until you made me love you.You trained me to be your pretty little bird,my feathers spreading under your attention and praise. You promised you’d leave her.Swore it was me you wanted more than life. But then you broke my wings and silenced my song, and you became my obsession.I’ve spent years trying to figure out a way to change your mind,to win back your heart. But in this moment … win back your heart.
But in this moment of desperation,
my mind leaves me.
And I’ll just
Steal you
instead.
Surely a fertility doctor would never steal a semen analysis sample for herself?
Steal You is a dark erotic romance full of suspense, depicting a twisted love affair between a professor and his student. They have an obsessive, almost scary kind of love, one that could get them both hurt… and maybe even killed.

So I adore CC Monroes writing… all her books make my heart happy! It was super fun to see read a book where she teams up with a friend, a coworker that I’m sure she respects. It was amazing to read this book, I don’t know where one started and the other one ended. They flowed, flawlessly together. It was completely magical. There weren’t any differences that I could pinpoint. This book was pretty different for Monroe though. I haven’t seen her go the submissive/dominant route previously. I wasn’t too shocked giving the cover… which is smokin’! Did you all look at it! OUCH!! It’s HAWT!
So yeah, we have a bit of a dominance book and it was fascinating! I love the passion and drama that was all over this book. Lizith and Xander had this insane chemistry. I don’t think they could have stayed away from each other if they were forced. For Lizith being the submissive one, I was intrigued by the strength that she portrays. It was really illuminating to see that even though you play that role, it doesn’t make you who you are.
As my first book by KD Robichaux, I was floored by the story her and CC Monroe created together. What a story! They made an alpha that you want to break all the rules for! Lizith made me laugh out loud a few times… not because she was funny… but because I questioned her sanity at times. She was fierce in her determinations. Even if I found that off, she stuck by it.
This book has made me want to scream, cry and attack my husband. It had me on the edge of my seat waiting impatiently for the crazy to come out and play and it doesn’t disappoint. Xander is the dark possessive professor and Lizith is the young naive college student. They take on he’ll of a rollercoaster ride through their story and end with a beautiful sparrow and a happily ever after. It is a dark but beautiful love story of soul mates finding each other even if revenge and hate started it all.
Xander and Lizith
Emotionally charged, dark, insane twisted romance that has every conceivable emotion you can conjure up in your mind. Plot twists, drama, deceit, secrets, great characters, and storyline dynamics make this a MUST READ from me. Couldn’t put it down til I finished it.
The keeper is kept by his little bird.”
I’ve read a few books by K.D. Robichaux, but this is my introduction to C.C. Monroe. I admit that in the back of my head I knew that this book was written by two people, but even trying, I couldn’t detect a single shift that indicated these characters weren’t created from a single brain. The story flowed very smoothly and I really got caught up in the drama and the passion. That’s another thing I have to mention, the intense chemistry and deep feelings were undeniable. So much so that I found myself totally invested and rooting for the #CrazyTeam.
Lizith (aka Little Bird) is a submissive. It’s not a label that she wears. She didn’t even know that about herself until she met her professor, her keeper. She just knew immediately that she belonged to him and she was willing to do whatever he told her to. He trained her and molded her into his perfect pet. He warned her that he was going to ruin her… and he did.
Lizith was so completely in love with her keeper that when he left she was devastated. She was unable to move on, refusing to give up hope that they would be together again. Her feelings didn’t waver or dim over time and her determination just grew stronger. She kept a close eye on her lost love while pursuing her chosen profession as a fertility specialist. And when the opportunity arose for her to give him something he had always wanted, she couldn’t pass it up. She didn’t stop to consider how crazy her actions were. She just saw her chance to make her fantasies come true by giving him what he wanted most, a child. I’m guessing that “I am choking on my obsession and wrung lifeless by my insanity. The insanity this man caused.” will be her plea if she gets caught, huh?
Yeah, I might have agreed that she was totally living in a fantasy world if I had not met the sexy professor, Xander. Now I understand why he has a line of simpering students falling all over themselves to get his attention. I kinda don’t blame Lizith for losing her mind over him. Especially after I entertained a little voyeuristic analysis, you know, just to make sure that he lived up to all the hype. After careful consideration, and possibly reading a few scenes more than twice, I’ve determined that she might be psychotic, but she’s also a very lucky girl. I wouldn’t take too kindly to losing all that either!
I’m not going to give you any more details, I’m just gonna say that by the end of this incredible story I was fully onboard the crazy train with them. Actually, we weren’t alone, there’s another character that I wanted to throw off the train, right onto the tracks! This amazing story had me in its grip from the get-go and I enjoyed every second of the ride. I think this dynamic duo did an excellent job and I really really hope that they decide to continue collaborating on more projects in the future. Either way, this fangirl will be stalking, I mean following them both. The line forms here…
This is the 1st book I read by KD Robichaux & CC Monroe. I’m sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 2 because this is not a type of story I would read.
Oh my gosh. This book is absolutely freaking crazy. I loved it. When I saw KD’s TikTok I immediately went to amazon and bought it. I picked it up as soon as it hit my kindle and didn’t put it down until I was finished. I could not tear myself away form this story. I was so shocked and intrigued from page one. Lizith is psycho but I freaking love it. Her passion and obsession and love for Xander just makes since. I will admit I was a little put off until we saw how much Xander loved and craved Liz and her actions. This book is just next level. I would not think I would like how deep they get but it just worked and I loved it. Oh my gosh I loved this book. I love Xander and Liz. I love their passion and obsession with one another. Their story had my on edge in the best ways. I am so obsessed. It was so crazy and hot and so freaking out there. I loved it. It deserves 5 Psycho stars for sure. Xander and his Little Bird are something so different and dark, they push the limits and come out perfectly. KD and CC have written a phenomenal story that I am so freaking happy I read. I will think about this book always. It is unforgettable.
P.S. One of my favorite things about this book is that it is a real hit or miss and I can just like see in my head all the Karen’s giving this one star reviews. Like that just makes it so much better.
Oh…so many emotions with a love affair that we learn later in the book started as revenge between a student and her professor. You never knew what kind of twisted drama was coming at you next. Sometimes they were even “normal” in their romance, but it does end with a wedding. Truly unique.
Let me start by saying I’m one of KD Robichauxs biggest fans, and I’ve read and devoured all of her books. When I knew this book was releasing, I was excited for it to hit my kindle, because I knew both authors had faced fertility issues. However, it just wasn’t what I expected. It was a very unrealistic story, and I disliked the characters and what they stood for. I hate that I didn’t enjoy this book, because as I said I love this author to pieces, but this book wasn’t the polished story that I’ve become used to. I’ll continue to look out for more new releases by KD Robichauxs, because I’m sorry I didn’t enjoy this book, it just wasn’t for me.
I don’t usually read a whole lot of Dom/sub genre books or dark books either but KD Robichaux is an author I never turn down for a review. Why?? Robichaux has a sense of humor that is out of this world. Her writing snagged me with the first book of hers I read. Steal You did not disappoint me.
Generally, when I read a book that has two authors writing I can tell the difference in styles. Steal You was an exception to the rule. KD and CC seamlessly flowed together. It was beautiful.
The story of Lizith and Xander while twisted and a bit dark is actually touching in ways I never thought of.
It is a story of a love that many won’t understand or accept but somewhere deep with inside themselves they long for it. A love that starts because of revenge and deep dark secrets that eventually come to the light. A love that conquers when it was ultimately meant to fail. This is a love story that has it’s faults. It doesn’t start where it was pure but it ends being pure, in the most beautiful ways.
While I want to sit here and tell you all about Xander and his little bird I can’t. Why?? I think it that sometimes experiencing the story is better than reading a summary of it. I can give you all the little details, the plot, the twists, etc. But what I can’t give you is the experience of reading it. Steal You is a book you have to experience not read about. So get off your butt and pick it up. You will thank me for it.
I loved this book! I could not put it down! A crazy anti-heroine, a totally jealous/protective alpha male and one heck of a great story! I definitely recommend it!
There are books that you read and they fill you with joy. There are books that consume you and it’s all you can do to turn those pages to see what is going to happen next to the people that have taken over your life and have residence in your heart.
Then there are books like this when the characters and story take on a life of their own, grab you by the throat and pour all those dark emotions, obsessive compulsions and mind numbing, spare no one and burn-it-to-the-ground passion into your very soul and leave you devastated. That was Steal You. The Keeper and his Little Bird left me speechless, shaking and asking myself as I turned the page and read the last word: Am I that crazy, too?
Their relationship is so very forbidden. He’s a professor and she’s his student. He’s had his eye on her for a while. He’s determined. She’s a good girl, but every good girl has a bad side. Still some have a streak of crazy. Xander saw that streak, reveled in it and watched it grow. Lizith was the perfect submissive, a bird held captive in the cage of her keeper even after her beloved keeper was no longer around.
The twists, turns and oh-my-god moments in this story left me with my hand over my mouth in shock, screaming at my kindle or clutching at my throat. A few times I stepped away from my kindle because I felt like my device was on fire from witnessing some of the hottest sex scenes I have ever read. And still the moments that I thought to myself that Xander and Lizith were absolutely insane and that I would just walk away for good, I found myself pulled in and turning those pages once again.
Kayla and CC have written this book so flawlessly, so seamlessly that there is no way to know that two people co-authored this tale. Two authors with one heart and one very tangled soul. This book is utterly brilliant, dark from its roots to the tips of its branches and so captivating that I long for more… just more. It is beautifully written and a roller coaster ride that I wasn’t even prepared for.
So very well done! Congratulations, ladies. SIX STARS!
So what can I say about this book? Well I’ll say this, it is so beautifully written and completely positively insane at the same time. I definitely felt like I was on a huge roller coaster ride that I somehow forgot to strap myself in for. So I just held onto the bars as tightly as I could waited for the heart pounding exciting crazy ride to come to a stop. You know it’s kinda awesome when you have to pull your head up a few times periodically to check your surroundings to make sure you aren’t inside the book because it just feels so real!
I think I have read just about every wonderful book that KD Robichaux has written so far. But this is the very first time that I have read anything by CC Monroe, which that’s definitely going to change. Let me tell you something I could not tell who wrote what in this book because KD and CC’s writing just blends seamlessly. Their personalities and writing style to me is the same. I can’t wait to read more books of their blended writing in the future which I so do hope they write more books together because they both rock at transporting their readers to another crazy reality! I give this book five stars but I wish I was able to give more because it deserves so much more!!..
I’ve never felt such mixed emotions when beginning a review. Not because this book wasn’t amazing, rather because I’m just not sure that my words will be enough to express my feelings about this book. But I will give it a try.
This book is probably about the most twisted, demented book I’ve ever read. The hero and heroine are the kind that you love to hate, and hate to love. The crazy is strong in these two!
What begins as an affair between a professor and his student becomes so much more. And then, all of a sudden it is over. What seems hopeless, suddenly has a second chance.
I cannot say enough how amazing this book was. As strange as it seems, the crazy just made it better. This story was full of angst and drama. You never knew what was coming next and there were times I found myself having to read a passage again because I just couldn’t believe what had just happened. My emotions were out in full force with this one, and ran the gamut between anger, tear, disbelief, and happiness. I found myself finding their crazy to be normal, even sweet at times. I caution readers to have an open mind when reading this book, but it is totally worth the time. It is completely unlike anything else I’ve ever read before, more hard core than most, but still a book that will stick with me for a very long time!
