A grumpy lumberjackFormer Army Ranger Harrison Wilkes isn’t actually a lumberjack, but he’s doing his best impression while hiding out in the mountains of East Tennessee. He needs to rest, recharge, and stay the hell away from people, while he wrestles with ghosts from his past and figures out his future. Neither includes a snowbound rescue of his favorite author.A runaway writerIvy Blake is on a … author.
A runaway writer
Ivy Blake is on a deadline. Her hero is MIA, and she’s desperate to find some peace, quiet, and inspiration to get her book—and her life—back on track. She doesn’t plan on driving off a mountain. Or the mysterious stranger who shows up to save her.
Who’s rescuing who?
When Winter Stormageddon traps them together, Ivy finds the inspiration she didn’t know she needed in her real-life hero. As more than the fireplace heats up his one-man cabin, they both find far more than they bargained for. This intuitive author just might have the answers Harrison’s looking for, but will their newfound connection survive past the storm?

BABY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE is a standalone read with a HEA. A bit steamy but on a cold night that is a good thing. Ivy is a writer suffering from writer’s block. Her agent is nagging her to get something written and she just can’t pull it together. She books a get away to a mountain spa and sets out where there is no cell service. On the way, she runs into the snow storm of the season, slides on the slick road and goes over the side of the mountain. No cell service and her car is wedged between rocks and trees and she can’t get out. She has no idea what to do.
Harrison is an ex-Army Ranger on his way to his buddy’s cabin for some R&R. He spots the twisted guardrail and stops. He sees a car with the taillights still on and he can hear music. He gets his gear out and repels down to the car. He scares Ivy half to death, a bushy beard and long hair he looks like a lumberjack. He gets her out of her car and into his. He takes her to his cabin which is close by and gets her patched up and dry. She is terrified of him. They are going to be in close quarters for a while so he tries to put her mind at ease. This is the start of their romance. It is a really good story and I really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 10/27/18
Once again, Kait Nolan has written an engaging, delightful romance that had me devouring the story. Ivy and Harrison heat up the pages with their off the charts chemistry. I loved that he was a fan of her books and the way he provided insight into her new book. I enjoyed the way Ivy saw through to the real man behind his rough exterior and how that insight (along with the time he spent with Ty) helped Harrison come to grips with his demons.
I would love to read another story about Ivy and Harrison as they pursue their relationship further. It would be interesting to see how they progress to their final HEA.
I urge you to read every book written by this talented author.
Harrison and Ivy’s story is great! Entertaining and easy to read.
